However, visiting your local cell phone store can either be a nightmare from hades or the best experience ever. For myself, it was the latter of the two. Megan, and the staff at this store were absolutely amazing. Megan, came out and asked how she could help me, and I explained that I wanted to upgrade to the new iPhone 15. She was able to pull up my old account information, and she even gave me the best unlimited plan that Verizon current has. Now I can visit neighboring Canada to visit family members and not worry about roaming charges. Likewise, I can now also send text messages to friends in Mexico City and Toronto without any fees. That being said, the staff at this store made my changeover absolutely effortless, transferred all of my data and contacts to the new phone in 20 minutes. The part I liked the best is how Megan, and the guy who set-up my new phone, took their time and explained to me all the ins and outs of my new plan. This was great customer service all the way. I highly recommend this corporate store over any local dealers.

I argued saying that I have lived in Boston about 4 years ago, and had gotten a Verizon contract without any problem - and also note that it is illegal to ask for SSN unless you are a government owned business. So when I walked in to the AT^T store near IKEA, I really was not expecting to get any help - I think I went in to use the google map on one of the phones. My first impression of Jody (Sales person) wasn't the best. He was on the phone (which really wasn't his fault), and made us wait a long time. I minded that of course, but I had to use the internet, and had to use the bathroom, so I waited. Once he was off his phone call (I think he was on hold from AT&T customer service ppl- so I definitely cannot blame him), within 20 minutes I had my phone in my hand! He knew exactly what he was doing!! He was one of those sales person who knew what they were doing. Since moving to Detroit - I have met too many sales persons who are friendly but clearly did not know how to deal with an oddity such as myself who rightfully does not have SSN. I had to put a deposit down on the phone which I will get back after a year, but I was impressed Jody could make the phone happen for me, without giving me much fuss about not having SSN. p.s: I give it a 4 star instead of 5 because I had a terrible experience with AT%T in general and just spent about 3 hours on the phone to talk to a customer service person who was absolutely horrible and useless.
