Kids were in bed in our camper. Wanted to watch a replay of a sporting event on our outside tv and a staff member told us no tvs or music after 10pm. The TV volume was extremely low and was bothering nobody. I could hear multiple crying children in the distance over the low volume of my tv but the staff didn't knock on their camper doors and tell them no crying after 10pm. Apparently adults can't be respectful adults and enjoy themselves for an hour when their kids go to bed. Will never come back to this place. read more

Hadley point campground is a good base camp to see all the surrounding areas! They have clean restroom showers. Lots of campsites with water, sewer, and electric. They have a laundry room with four washers and four dryers. Remember to bring quarters to the shower, it cost $.50 for seven minutes. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. read more

This is a nice family campground. Quiet hours seem to be observed (10-7). The tent area is a little separate from the RV area which is nice. There's a small store for necessities. The bathrooms and showers have been redone in the last few years and are quite nice. It's clean and showers are 50 cents/7 minutes so bring your quarters. The hot water was in and out but that is to be expected at a campground. There's a pool but I didn't use that. Everyone was super nice. I've stayed here in the past and I'd stay here again. I was able to book a tent site out for a weekend a couple weeks in advanced which was nice because it's tough finding an opening in the area! read more

This was a fantastic find. When I arrived at 10:30 in the morning I only wanted to get some information about the island. I was given a couple different maps and was given several things to do for exploring and hiking. After that I was told that my site was ready and I was able to get there and set up all before 11:30 am. Now this is not to be expected because check-in is 1 pm. I got lucky. The whole place is very clean, well maintained, and the friendly atmosphere is exceptional. Even the bathrooms are spotless. So loud. Nobody manages quiet hours. We are here now and it's almost midnight and it's so loud. Sites are not level at all. Campground is set up very weird with sites awkwardly placed behind other sites. Horrible large gravel at sites which makes leveling impossible. read more

Be aware that if you schedule for any day that is on a holiday weekend, they WILL keep your deposit no matter how far ahead you cancel. This includes any bank holiday. I lost $150 deposit cancelling over 60 days ahead because I scheduled on Columbus Day/Indigenous People's day weekend. I honestly didn't even realize it was a holiday weekend. It does mention holiday weekends in their policy, but it DOES NOT list applicable holidays or mention that is only Federal Holidays. So, there is no indication of what they count as a holiday. Anyhow, if you think there is a possibility you might need to cancel check to make sure your dates do not fall on a holiday weekend. Maybe even call ahead to verify. read more

To me, Bar Harbor and Acadia are just far enough away from Boston to treat it as a REAL vacation. Are we on the coast of Ireland or still in the US? Hadley's is on the outskirts of downtown Bar Harbor, a little more than a 10 minute drive and probably even more in the height of summer season. It's at least 20 minutes to the loop road to enter Acadia. We absolutely loved our two night (minimum) stay in one of their tiny cabins. They have fifteen of them on-site and I think about 90% allowed pets for an additional charge of $10 per night. The heat and AC system worked very well, one night we needed AC and the next the temp dropped down into the 40's so the heat had to kick on. We had no issue with the shower charge of 50 cents per seven minutes. In fact, one time I stood around waiting for it to end as I had been done a few minutes earlier. Just make sure you bring quarters! They did have a lot of stingy rules and pro tip, buy your campfire wood on the way in as many places along the road are going to be $1-2 cheaper per bundle. Also don't forget all of the kitchen and bedding necessities from home. This was glamping at its finest and we definitely wish to return. They also have many actual camping locations with water and electricity hookups. The pool wasn't open in early June yet but is likely open for all of July and August when it is needed in Maine. The two older ladies who ran the front desk were great and very informative about the area. Five stars just for price and the beautiful cabins alone. read more

The campsite was nice and big but the owners or whoever was at the entrance was definitely a turnoff of this place. We had to stop and check in everytime we went back to the site. Also my elderly mother who walks with a walker wanted to go in the pool but they told her she had to walk from the campsite that was in the back of the campground - that I couldn't drive her and park at the store. I thought that was very rude. And the people that are in rvs by the pool park their chairs right at the road and pool and watch every move. It's jst not a very comfortable place to be. Do yourself a favor and go a little further and go to bar harbor campground. read more

If you are looking to not enjoy your vacation go here!!! The owner of this campground is a complete Asshole. Kicked my group out at 7am for setting up a tent to keep our belongings out of the rain as we where heading to the national park. No warnings. Didn't ask us to take it down (we would have been more then happy to). We had no place to go on a busy holiday weekend hours from home. We tried to reason with the owner , we were willing to comply and were met with disrespect and lack of empathy. As a business owner myself I'd never ever do this. Completely unprofessional and will never think about returning. Our family stumbled upon Hadley's several years ago and we've made it a point to return each year since. We love their friendly, helpful staff, their cabins, the cleanliness of the campground and the location. Located just outside of downtown Bar Harbor, it's a quick trip to Acadia National Park and all the wonderful things that the area has to offer. After a day of hiking, sightseeing and/or enjoying the downtown, it's nice to return to the peace of the campground away from all the hustle and bustle. Hadley's offers tent sites, camper sites and (our personal favorite) several cabins. Their cabins offer 1 queen sized bed, a set of bunkbeds, a bathroom and a heat/air-conditioning unit.The cabins also offer a small covered porch, a picnic table and fire pit. Most of the cabins are pet friendly so your pup is more than welcome to tag along! Reservations are old school - can only be made by calling - and begin after the first of the year. If you call during the first couple days they begin taking reservations, it may take a couple hundred calls to get thru, but I promise, it's WORTH IT!! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place and their awesome staff and will be coming back for years to come. read more

I'm not sure why there are some flat out mean reviews, can only surmise that the reviewers didn't like following the rules clearly stated and restated. We stayed in our 40 ft. fifth wheel in a pull thru full hookup site. Are the sites tight? Yes. Is is enough for slides and awnings? Yes. The water pressure is great, the Wi-Fi is strong enough to do what you want. Not all sites have a fire ring, but management will bring you one if you so desire. The free bus into Acadia and Bar Harbor stops IN the campground, so if that's your jam, you're hooked up. Keep in mind that cruise ships come in to Bar Harbor everyday bringing thousands into town, so parking is a nightmare. Take the bus. We enjoyed walking through the different areas of the campground daily, it's much bigger than it looks. There is also a rocky beach at the end of Hadley Point Road which is worth a look. read more

We stayed for a week during fall color season. Staff was very nice and helpful; nice service including pump out at the camp site for a fee. Staff was very knowledgable about the area and answered all questions. The campground was very clean and tidy; no trash about and the fire pits were clean. Great wifi - handled streaming. Shaded site with electric. Shower was hot with good water pressure. The restrooms and showers were spotless. Site was nice size for our small trailer; the campground has a wide variety of site options, including tent sites, cabins, and large RV, in different segments. Pet friendly on leash. Pool for the summer, but we didn't use (too late in the fall). Bus service on site to the park. read more

Decent campground. Very close to Acadia national park and local lobster shops. The nearby beach is beautiful for watching the sunset (5 minutes by car). The staff is nice and friendly. Each campsite spot was pretty small but still manageable. Pros - not many bugs, bathrooms and showers were usually empty, the site donates profits from recyclables to an animal shelter, warm showers, sells blocks of ice and ice cubes ($2.50 for a bag of ice cubes) Cons - each campsite is very close to the next, and having loud neighbors can ruin your day/night. there is a playground where kids were playing and screaming well into the night (past 10pm even) which got very annoying. during the day, lots of kids were riding bikes around the campsite roads so be careful when you walk to the bathroom etc. you also have to pay 50 cents to take 7 minute showers. overall not bad! Stayed here for the last 4 nights in D section with full hook ups but No cable. Wifi really didn't work. Need a very long sewer hose (25-30') as dump connection is at the rear of the site. Crushed gravel site and nice wide site. Bath and shower house in D section was old with single shower and toilet. .50 for 7 min shower. But they had new showers, baths and laundry at the front. $4 wash $1.50 dry. Really enjoyed it here and as long as you don't miss cable and wifi, it's great. Conveniently close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Didn't see the shuttle but it may not have been running yet. Also close to Hadley Pointe beach. Small but nice to see the water within a long-walk distance. Really nice staff here too. read more

Lucky enough to call last minute and reserve a tent site two days before arriving. We actually had reserved two spots since there can only be one car per site, in the end we cancelled one reservation and kept one site since I ended up only bringing one car, we lost the $50 deposit but it would have cost us more to keep it so no worries. Make sure you call to check availability since it can change daily. The site we had was C31 and it was ok but ddin't like being surrounded by RV's, water was close and so was the showers and toilets. The pool is small but sufficient with the kids. NOTE: you cannot have your kids there even if 12-13 without a parent, they will kick them out. It was quiet at night and the kids enjoyed the playground and basketball court in front of our site. we did have a few skunks "come visit" our site in the middle of the night so be aware. We would stay here again but definately a different site. Make sure you drive down the road to check out the waterfront, go kayaking or just walk around at low tide. Enjoy Bar Harbor and Acadia with this great campground, only 6.5 miles from downtown. read more

We stayed for 2 nights here. Friendly staff. They come out to you for check in with an tablet and we didn't even have to get out which in my opinion was quicker and easier after a long drive! If you sign the agreement and check in when they send you it via email, it is even faster! Drove us to our spot and delivered our fire ring right away. The playground was nice for our 2 year old in section C. The playground in D wasn't open. It looked like their used to be swings there. The location was great to go to Bar harbor and even have the FREE shuttle buses that go to Acadia during the busy summer months! We used them!! We didn't go to the restrooms which we never do because we live in an RV so I cannot say anything about that. I did see two young ladies cleaning them around 10AM when we were leaving though! The grass area was nice and cut which I LOVE with dogs and a toddler!! Overall, we would stay at this private park again over any KOA! The KOA in my opinion was too far out -- another 15 minutes at least. read more

Noisy little trailer parking lot. They ration the fire rings. Give you rules how to use it over and over. Buses to Acadia are awesome especially when they pass by every 20 mins. Really cut the grass next to our camper at 7AM? Complain about the dogs barking... uhmm if you were not shining the golf cart headlight on us in the dark for sitting outside and doing nothing there may have been a possibility they would have just laid quietly still! We don't need rules and directions several times how to extinguish a fire. You are so worried about it you check and keep on moving. Im sure my trained fire fighter husband had it covered! I made the questionable decision of visiting Bar Harbor on a holiday weekend, and this was the only campground still available. This a an RV park, but you are able to pitch a tent. I do like how they are vigilant about noise control. It is quiet and family/retiree oriented. I found the bathrooms and showers to be normal for a campground. The sites are close together and there isn't any privacy. But it was fine for me as a quiet crash pad with friendly neighbors. As a tent camper....not a place I'd spend any extra time on. The area I stayed was a large field, so good stargazing at night! read more

Gave us no notice of our mistake, just came up first thing in the morning and told us we had an hour to get out. Denied us a refund for our pre paid site. Great friendly staff. Great camping spot. But have a few suggestions to make this place a 10. - the bathroom stalls are very small. You can't close the door and put paper on the seat and sit without fussing. - the doors to the building are loud when someone shuts them. You'll notice this at night when your sleeping the slamming of the doors! It doesn't make it for a restful night. - the pool needs to be 5 deg hotter. It states that it's heated but it's still very cold. Maybe it feels heated to locals, but to people who's on vacation it feels cold. read more

We just spent the week at here, and it was a perfect place for us. We are two adults, who spend most of our time exploring the area where we camp. We met owner, Allison on arrival, and we couldn't ask for a nicer host. Everyone in the office was knowledgeable about the Acadia/Bar Harbor area. The restrooms/ laundry area was spotless and updated. The pool area was very well maintained. There's a great Lobster place you can bike to and a winery too! The free shuttle is to Acadia and Bar Harbor comes right to the campground and it's a great way to get around! The campground has been run by 3 generations for 50 years and you can tell they take pride and love what they do! This place has everything! Nice people and amenities abound!!! They helped us find someone to check out our generator (which we only need when boon-docking), a honey wagon comes and pumps you out if you want (so not necessary to pay for FULL hookup), they refilled our empty propane tank and a family owned business! Pool still empty but it looks like it'll be nice. Jungle gym big with a basketball hoop for the kids. It's also near Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. You cannot go wrong here! Stayed here for two nights in mid June, before schools let out so we were Very happy with how quiet and clean this campground was. Gino who works there greeted us and helped us find our spot and made sure we had everything we needed to set up. Everyone was very friendly and the kids who were there were very well behaved. Very dog friendly. You did have to pay to use the showers and to dump tanks, but otherwise we were very happy. Bar Harbor is about 7 miles away and we planned to bike it, but the road was under construction and was not safe to ride on, which was kind of a bummer. Luckily one of the guys who worked on site offered to drive us and pick us up so we could enjoy the town. Go to the Happy Clam lobster pound when you are here, you will be very happy! read more

We just spent a week in one of their cabins. The cabin was clean, spacious enough for my family of four...two teenage boys, the beds were ok, not the most comfortable but not horrible either. The shower in the cabin was 50 cents for 7 minutes, it had lots of hot water and great pressure! We loved having a fire ring right outside the cabin. The cabins were nicely spaced apart from the other cabins. It also had AC/heat which was a great plus for a cabin. Our room did get really damp through the week and had a faint smell, the other two families we vacation with did not have that problem with theirs. I did not call to say anything about it. We just got back from a stay at Hadley's Point and couldn't be happier with our decision. Although it is a bit out of the way for Acadia we found it quiet and relaxing to be outside of Bar Harbor. The staff is very nice answering all of our questions and offering restaurant suggestions (Jordan's for blueberry pancakes was a good one). They even invited us to a potluck dinner even though we had just arrived and, obviously, had no food of our own to bring. If you have the means we highly recommend getting a cabin. They're new and kept immaculately clean. Hot showers, a covered porch and heating/ac make it worth the extra cost but even in any of their other accommodations you can't go wrong staying here. read more

We have just returned from our first trip to Bar Harbor this year. We made the trip twice last summer also. We have stayed at Hadley's Point campground on all three occasions. The people that own the place are all very nice. We absolutely love this campground and is the only place we will stay at. It is close to Bar Harbor, Trenton and Ellsworth, very convenient ! Their prices are reasonable also. There is also a fellow who sells fresh seafood across the street from the Hadley Point Road ! We love the campground which makes are visits much more enjoyable. If you can stay in the national park, it's worth it. In fact, any other campsite is probably a step up from Hadley's Point. I booked the site since it was close to Bar Harbour- but although it's close, it's in the opposite direction of all the action so driving for Acadia and dining is very time consuming. In addition, It is loud and smells like diesel, camping sites are close together, management is unfriendly, and there are people everywhere. We didn't stay to check out the bathrooms, but they didn't look impressive from the outside. The pool was also pretty lackluster. I had no problem forfeiting my deposit- a night here looked like sheer misery. There are better options- do your research. read more

You get what you pay for at this campground. It's very reasonably priced, but the sites are small and most open up to a huge field creating little privacy. Bathrooms were cleanish considering the sheer amount of people there, but 50 cents for 7 minutes of shower time? You're killing me smalls. I had just come from a campground where I paid a quarter for 10 minutes so I nearly had a heart attack. It's very crowded in peak season, mostly families with small kids so you're awakened to the sounds of children playing. Wifi was a total joke so don't expect to get on the internet most of the time. Stayed here 3 nights and was glad to be gone, but if you're looking for a cheap place to rest your head for a night, I'd say go for it. If you're looking for a peaceful, nature filled vacations spot, this is not the campground you're looking for, move along.... read more

Let me start with, I'm giving this campground 2 stars because the campground itself was very clean and the staff was amazing. It would have been 5 stars if we were not kicked off of our sites on our third night there. (We had reservations for 4 nights). My husband and I were in cabin 15 and our three friends were in cabin 14 right across from us. The first two nights were perfect, then on our third night we noticed it was about 11:00pm and the quiet hours started at 10:00pm, so we went up to the only other people we could see (in cabin 3) to ask them if we were being too loud so we didn't interrupt anyone. They assured us that they could not hear us at all from their cabin. We were at their cabin (#3) for one minute, when the owner pulled up and was very rude to us telling us that he was the "last person" we want to see. He told us to put the fires out and "go to bed". I don't know how loud the occupants of cabin 3 were or how many complaints they got, as we only went over there to make sure we weren't interrupting anyone. The owner (Eric) didn't even let us say anything, give a warning for the noise complaint, or show any kind of respect. He then circled back in his vehicle to our cabins (14 and 15) and demanded we find a bucket, put out our fire, and again go to bed all while sitting in his vehicle, watching us. Eric then said he would be back in 5 minutes and that the fire better be out and we need to be inside our cabins. So we did just that even though it was absurd. This was all at 11:00pm, and he was telling adults, one who is a law enforcement officer, to go to bed like children. We completely understand if we were too loud (which according to the people in the only cabin near us, we weren't because they said they couldn't even hear us) to tell us to quiet down and let the fire die down. But the complete lack of respect was absolutely unacceptable, then the next morning around 8:00am we got knocks on our doors from two police officers telling us that the owner wants us to leave the property because we were disrespectful, argumentative, and stayed outside being loud until 4am, which was absolutely not the truth. We were inside our cabins and the fire was put out like he wanted within the 5 minutes. My husband explained the situation to the officers and they happily pointed us in the direction of a few other campgrounds that they said they haven't had any issues with. It's really disappointing that this happened. My husband and I were talking about this being a place we could bring our children, but with an owner who shows no signs of respect, especially when we were not the ones being loud, was completely unacceptable. The campground itself is great, the cabins are amazing, the location is great, but the owner Eric just really seemed to be a hot head on a power trip. read more
