To get you wet and cool you off. . That is not all !! A large Dog Park to let you furry kid run and play. If you want to make a picnic of this, you can . Covered area with picnic tables, out areas with picnic tables and charcoal grills. Walk area around the park in a semi circular fashion. You can view the park from the walk area. Also Pittsboro's answer to Stonehenge. I don't think these rocks are aligned in a astronomical way, but they are indigenous and check out the veins of Jade. That Stonehenge area has wire grass and I would recommend something to cover your feet. Oh almost forgot. Bathrooms are also in the big building with the covered picnic area. Even if Mother Nature does dribble on you. You can make your way to the covered area. All in all this is a great park for everyone. My Granddaughters approved of it.

Rock Ridge Park is a great little park hidden away off the main highway. It's a community nature…read morepark on land donated by a nearby business. Although it's still being developed, the park offers a nice paved walking path (and a natural path) that winds through the wooded area. There's a small playground (made out of natural wood materials ) for the younger kids and an outdoor amphitheater and a small picnic shelter, and all along the path are benches available to sit and watch the surrounding activity, if that's your preference. I also saw the frames for the short zipline, but am not sure when or if it's operating. Dogs are allowed on the paths, and there a plenty of stations available to pick up after your furry friend, and future plans appear to include a dog park, disc golf that's under construction, an open field and bike trails. It was pretty quiet the day I was there, early in the morning before the heat kicked in, so I had plenty of time to explore. Although it's in a wooded area, the trees are cut back from the path leaving plenty of room to walk. That's going to be useful as more people find this place and take advantage of all it offers.

The food was also reasonably priced and had large portions, which was a nice surprise. They provided free bottled waters to guests as it has been such a hot July. I attended on July 7 with 4 adults. I did pay for a covered chairs for 2 which was worth the price. A disappointment was the rides and pools closed abruptly around 3:30 p.m. due to the threat of rain. While safety always comes first, it ended up not raining at all, so it was frustrating to lose several hours. Also, the staff had no idea and provided little updates when it did close. I wish there were more indoor or covered seating areas to escape the sun and enjoy a meal comfortably and possibly an adult area. I loved the lazee river was able to go around and around and relax. I also enjoy riding the edge it is so thrilling. Also note that on a normal day some rides (located in the back of the park) close an hour earlier than the park's closure and some rides open an hour later after the park opens (soak zone). You do have to pay to park. I had a fun visit and would definitely come back. Hopefully next time the weather cooperates a little better. As most reviews I will be back it is too close to home to not enjoy and next time I will review the food a bit more.

But at least you can enjoy a quiet and relaxing float to ease the soul.

this park is no longer a safe place to walk. there is a woman who is mentally ill that has threatened me and vandalize my car because we had a disagreement last year. she still holds a grudge, she's very immature and when i told her to grow up she stuck her tongue out at me. yeah that's real mature. she told me she was going to beat my ass because i told her she needed to educate herself on a subject. . she was seen walking away from my car as it was parked at the end of the road on Tuesday July 22, . when i got in my car and went to back up i heard a loud pop and my tire went flat immediately. it was not a nail it was as larger piece of sharp metal that she stuck under my back tire so when i backed up it would pierce it. and yes she was seen near my car that morning. back in May she raised a stick at me and threatened me . last year she called the parks and recreation and lied and said it tried to run her over with my car and convinced others to call the office and lie and tell them i had done that and was speeding through the park, none of that was true she stepped out in the road as i was exiting the park and i had to swerve to miss her.. this woman has serious mental issues. and needs professional help. the parks and rec say they can't do anything about it. i called the sheriff and they advised me to file a complaint with the county court system i have notified the sheriff and if i catch her again i will have her arrested. . i still walk in the park because i have been doing so since 1987 and will not let this crazy woman run me off. but my advice keep an eye on your car and do engage with a woman called Holly. read more

I have never seen that on a playground before so it was very appealing to me since my child enjoys them but is always in need of assistance considering they are often so high. In addition to the playground there is a basketball court, skate park and tennis court. The park seems well maintained, the bathrooms are little dated so it would be nice to see an improvement with that one day. Great place to rent an outdoor shelter for a cookout or birthday party.

There's a playground there with slide and swing for the kiddies to have a blast. There are majestic trees and historic homes to remind us of our past It's users are an interesting bunch. You never know what you will see. It might be a photographer shooting a wedding or a dog taking a pee! Just a few minutes walk from the downtown scene. This park is a gem to behold.
