    Haggin Oaks Driving Range
    Victor V.

I think in every city, there are things they are known for or things that are just iconic about the city and are truly spots you must visit in order to fully get a true picture of the soul of that city. In Sacramento when one brings up the golfing scene, the true mecca of golf in Sacramento begins and ends with Haggin Oaks Golf complex and Driving Range. In this review I wanna talk specifically about the driving range. My history with this range goes back pretty far,all the way back to 1996 when I moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area and didn't know a soul-so after work, especially on weekends with not much to do,I spent many a Friday and Saturday nights at the Haggin Oaks Driving Range working tirelessly on trying to perfect this game that is truly impossible to perfect. Over the years many things have changed at this range but a lot of very important things have remained the same, including a quality practice facility with well maintained mats and tees, along with quality balls to use when practicing at this location. Some of my favorite things today that they have that for sure didn't exist back in the 90s is the Top Tracer displays available at every practice stall which provides you with endless options for however you want to practice-be it golf games or serious data tracking to evaluate how far and straight you're hitting the golf ball. This facility is extremely popular,I would say it's the most popular range in Sacramento-if you come here on any random Friday or Saturday,no matter the hours,I guarantee this place will be packed, though there are so many practice stalls available,a spot will open up pretty quickly. Another thing I love about this spot is the ability to try out clubs in the pro shop before you buy them for free-you just go into the pro shop and find a club you want to try, then register with the pro shop guy and then just take the club out to the range for a quick practice session before deciding on purchasing the golf club. Haggin Oaks also has both a food truck on the premises and a bar stand where one can buy various alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy while working on your craft. Personally I've never bought any food from the truck but I do see people rave about the quality of their food offerings. This facility also has 3 separate putting greens one can use to practice their putting game-along with a separate area one can use to work on their chipping skills for free. I will admit this place isn't the cheapest place in the area to practice when it comes to the price of the balls, but I would say their prices are competitive with most golf courses and when you include the quality of this facility,I would say Haggin Oaks is unmatched. 25 balls cost around $6,while a large bucket of 100 balls run around $22. In closing-if the idea of trying out this game I love so much has ever crossed your mind and you want to come to a family friendly, skill friendly, wallet friendly environment-Haggin Oaks is your spot. Come on out and try this beautiful game of ours called golf.

I came to Haggin Oaks for the first time as a guest for the Sacramento Business Journal's 2025 40 Under 40 awards. I was a little lost with where to go.l, but a young lady drove by in a goft cart and escorted me to the award ceremony area. Once there I checked in easily and then found my seating area up front. The food, drinks and music were really good. And our table was setup with water and drinks as well. It was a very well put together event.

Haggin Oaks is a staple. If you golf in Sacramento, you know Haggin. Arcade is relatively straightforward course with the wretched 18th hole destroying all hopes and dreams but perfect to work on your game. There's usually some great deals to be found in the spring and summer for some twilight golf. Drink prices are closer to a sporting event and golf cart fees person is crazy but that's every course.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE this course, especially the DRIVING RANGE! The range is quiet with TopTracer which allows you to play virtual golf, keep track of your progress, and play miscellaneous games. It's a lot of fun! They have a little bar that's open during peak hours. During non-peak hours they have a food truck that sells snacks, beers, and seltzers. Prices for range balls: $5 for 25 / $14 for 70 / $18 for 100 / $24 for 100 PARKING: private lot with lots of parking. You may have to walk a bit because they're usually busy but you will definitely find a spot.

Great course. Lighted range and huge equipment selection. I'm starting to like this place a lot. Lots of sales on equipment.

It has been lovingly taken care of and highly maintained to its present day perfect state of being in my opinion. Golfing at Ancil is truly a walk (or golf cart ride) along side nature and beauty. Having sooo many relatives and friends who call Ancil Golf their home course is no coincidence. They all love the Ancil history, appreciate the landscape of the course and yes the competitive spirit of the game. I have had the pleasure of walking the incredible fairways and being a ride-a-long with many a golfer. So I know the special nuisances and ambiance of the course. I was recently reminded, again, how blessed the Carmichael community is to have Ancil Hoffman Golf Course as their own very special place of joy! I returned to Ancil recently to purchase a gift card as a Christmas gift. Even though it was cold the sun was shining and the golfers were out in numbers. Turkeys and deer grazing about. And amazingly... I saw a flock of magpies flying from tree to tree. Such rare birds since the Nile virus took its toll. Made my day! The Golf Shop employees are such welcoming and professional people. I think Sam helped me with my transaction. Friendly, engaging and helpful. He thanked me for supporting Ancil Hoffman with my purchase. That is amazing! A thing of beauty is a joy forever certainly applies to Ancil Hoffman Golf Course. Come and enjoy!

The holes were challenging just enough for myself (novice golfer), lined with trees, great tee boxes and not a lot of areas to lose balls. Which helps my game. Recently my son wanted to finally play a real round of golf and though he has been to the driving range many times over the years,he has never actually played a round,so when he told me that,I knew exactly where we were headed-we went to Foothill Golf Course in Citrus Heights. We showed up around 930a on a random weekday and it was empty minus a player or 2 at the far reaches of the course. So we paid our green fees of $20 each and were told to go ahead and tee off whenever we were ready. That $20 gives u access to play 9 holes at this short par 3 course and if u want and there are openings you can pay another $7 to play another 9 holes. This is a true no frills golf course-they have an area you can practice putting but that's about it,no driving range,no chipping area, and it's perfect that way-it's just a course you go to when you want to introduce someone to golf in a judgment free spot, etiquette can be taught but people aren't hung up on it here,it's a place where the love of the game can be born and I'm happy it exists. So if you are ever looking for a spot to take a new golfer in your life or maybe you want to try golf for the 1st time,I would fully recommend this golf course to give our lovely sport a shot-u never know,u might love it.

The manager and her coordinating staff knew what they were doing and helped us alot along the way. I couldn't have asked for a better venue, our day was just perfect! They have a bridal suite for both parties to get ready in, bathrooms inside the venue, a huge kitchen, and two spots you can choose from for your ceremony! Our guests loved the view. Very spacious venue and flexible for any arrangement in my opinion! Only thing is that on your wedding day you'll have couple golfers and customers that wont want to respect your day, but it wasnt a big problem for us and that isnt the staffs fault! I just wish those customers weren't so entitled and selfish. Yeah the venue isn't as new or luxurious but it has its own charm. Plus with the killer view it has and with decor you can make it what you want it to be. Our photographers said it looks like we were in the Hamptons! Other than that I would recommend this place to anybody that wants a big party with a spectacular sunset look. I have no regrets, we will never forget our wonderful day!

Based on the reviews here I was expecting piss poor conditions and the fact that I only paid $50 for the 2pm tee time led me to believe that was going to be the case. But boy was I wrong! I live in Southern CA and for $50 (cart included) at 2pm you'll be waiting at every tee box (even on weekdays) praying you find grass to hit from and the rental set of clubs would be a mix match of stuff they found in the lost & found. Here at Morgan Creek I received a beautiful set of Taylormade Qi 35 woods and Qi irons with a tour x spider putter as my rental clubs. I was not planning to play on this trip so I did not bring my own. The course was in good to great shape. Yes there were some bunkers that needed some love, and some water hazards that were drying up, but it appeared the tee boxes had recently been aerated so in a few weeks they'll be perfect, the greens were probably the best I've seen at this price point, could have been a little faster, but in general I loved the undulations and overall green complexes. I for SURE will be back! Even at $75 for a weekend rate, consider that a steal for the quality of the course! The only other course I've played in the area is the MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks (SAME PRICE) and this course was far and away my favorite of the two. I'm open to trying other courses in the area when I'm up for business, but I'm definitely coming back here for another round!
