I love Haggos organic! It was my husbands first time here and he agrees the ingredients are high quality. They also have great options for gluten free and vegan. I usually get the fresh catch fish taco and this time tried the conchita pibil taco as well. Both had a great flavor - the fish was a local bass and I love the marinade on the conchita pibil. We also tried the shrimp ceviche this time which was just okay. It could have used more flavor, more citrus or something. They also have local beers on tap including a gluten reduced beer as well as hard kombuchas. There are so many taco shops in San Diego but this one stands out as the healthiest with the freshest ingredients for me. read more

I really enjoyed the food here! the guacamole is amazing, as are their caesar salads. I also had 2 tacos - wild shrimp and grass fed steak. I'm staying at a nearby hotel in Leucadia Ca, in Encinitas and stumbled upon Haggis Organic Taco nearby. I took a peak at their menu and at the top is says "Cooking sustainably w/ non-gmo/organic produce and ingredients, grass fed beef and organic free-range poultry and dairy, wild caught seafood." I love non-gmo and organic food places. I ordered the Vegan Nachos. Vegan cheddar, cashew crema, beans,lettuce,salsa cruda,crema, avocado, and cilantro. I had a great experience here the other day. Came with my mom and dog, slight line on a Sunday lunchtime. Ordered the beef taco, fish taco and the veggie bowl with shrimp. Wow, the beef has so much flavor!!! And so juicy. I mean Guy Fieri is on the wall, so I guess it's no surprise I'm in Flavortown ;) The bowl was super yummy, took half to-go and it was a great leftover with their habanero sauce. Made me feel like I was healthy with all those pretty veggies. Would definitely come back. Oh and we got free chips, salsa and guac since the estimated food arrival time was about 30ish min. Always wanted to try this place and finally was able to check it out. They had a great selection which is always helpful especially for those with diet restrictions. I ordered the veggie bowl which sounded yummy. When I got home I noticed what looked like sour cream on it which was odd because no where on the description did it mention sour cream. I have a dairy allergy so I immediately called them to verify. They were super sweet and understanding about my concerns, offered to make me a new one right away and apologized for the mishap. Since I was just down the street, I was able to pick it up right away and enjoy. I really appreciated their kindness and willingness to correct my order. Went down there this weekend to try out the place. Food was amazing and the ambience was very chill and laid back. Got a chicken quesadilla and it was really good. Finally came here for lunch today! This had been on our list for awhile since it was on DDD. SERVICE - The cashier who took our order was friendly. He made recommendations on food as well so that was appreciated since it was our first time. FOOD Fish Tacos - The fish was halibut today and it was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The mango slaw was a great addition to the taco along with the crema. It was a very clean and fresh taco. Loved every bite. Shrimp Taco - There was plenty of shrimp in the taco and the flavor was tasty. Grass Fed Beef Taco - This was my husband's favorite but my least. The meat that I had was incredibly chewy and I kept chewing and chewing. I felt like it was under seasoned as well. Nachos - We were hungry so we ordered this after we got the tacos. It was a mistake. There was not much meat on the nachos. There was chopped up lettuce that did not taste right with the nachos either. Side of rice and beans - This is not your typical Mexican place rice and beans. This was plain brown rice and red beans. Healthy. As we were picking at our nachos, the table right next to us received their food and the little girl said "There are bugs in this!" And the mom did not really look the first time but then the little girl said again "There are bugs all over this. I don't want it anymore" which then got the mom's attention. The mom looked at the dish and picked out the lettuce pieces with the bugs and brought it up to the counter to the cashier. Grosssssssss! Needless to say, we pushed our nachos aside that was full of lettuce. The fish tacos were excellent but it went downhill from there. The bug situation really turned us away for sure regardless if it was our dish or not. No thank you. read more

Haggos was one of my favorite places, but I made the mistake of ordering a land and sea burrito. There was approximately 3 shrimps in it. Please tell Fridays cook, land and sea should be a mix of steak and shrimp, not mostly steak. read more

If you call yourself an "influencer", you'll like this place. If you like telling people how much you love a "farmer's market" as much or more than you enjoy actually buying produce from a farmer, then this place is for you. If you believe to your core that anything called "organic" is instantly better and worth 2x what it should cost, then you're REALLY gonna love this place and it's $20 burritos and $9 taco (yes, that's just one taco and no they aren't enormous). If, however, you like food that tastes good...you should go to literally any other taco shop in the area. read more

The afternoon of January 30th I order A Kip quesadilla, side of guacamole and a side of chicken. Within a short period of time, I didn't not feel particularly well. By evening, I was violently vomitting. Went to Urgent Care. They said food poisoning. I called Haggo's a couple days later . They young women was defensive and told me it could be anything I ate within 24 hours. I didn't know she had an MD degree while working at Haggo's. Nor that she is a mind reader, since I was fasting. Haggo's was the only thing I ate. She continued with her attitude until I said I had to go. read more

The avocado mash (not guac) was actually pretty good, which was one of the only highlights of the meal. The beans tasted like store bought, canned beans and the rice was okay. Most importantly for any taco shop, the red salsa was simply awful. The green salsa was decent, but the red salsa was honestly the worst I've ever tasted. The flavor reminded me of Ragu marinara sauce mixed with a dash of hot sauce...I kid you not! I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I hope ownership takes this feedback seriously and makes some changes. Unique donuts, and I love that the uniqueness is not just adding 50 toppings to make it that way.
