It's best for dogs who are pretty chill and relaxed or small as there's a lot of people in a small area. It gets very busy midday on the weekend. I'm a big fan of natural and organic food, and my son wanted to try this place so we stopped. We got the El Pastor burrito and nachos. Everything was delicious. The salsas were outstanding. This is close to my home so I visit as often as I can. Everything I have eaten feels like comfort food. I always feel good after dining there. My favorites are the fish tacos, veggie bowl, churros and Seaborn cocktails. Staff recognizes me as a regular customer and it is so nice to be really seen. Update: Owner/Manager reached out to me directly and invited me back in. I appreciated the people at the top showing concern. The guac is still good even if the salsa is not. Eating the food, you don't taste crazy amounts of salt and there's no long lasting salty/MSG flavor the rest of the day. If they can work on more flavor without the use of artificial flavors, they can be top tier. I like what Haggo's is trying to do with no seed oils and all, but this was a terrible experience due to their workers and lack of flavors along with possible bad handling of fish. I ordered a Land & Sea burrito, subbing the steak out for the birria. This was a mistake because it ended up confusing the kitchen, as they didn't add any shrimp. So, I paid for an expensive burrito and got the cheaper meat of birria (which I chose) without the premium shrimp. When I let the register know there was no shrimp, they asked "only in that side you bit? There's probably some in the other half." First off, if that's the case, that's not enough shrimp. Secondly, just use your eyes and look, no shrimp at all. Eventually said she would have to throw away the whole burrito to make a new one. I didn't want to waste food, so I asked if I could just do a sparkling water. She had to look up the price in the register for lesser or equal value. I just said forget it. I understand you're running a business and can't be giving things away as costs add up, but this isn't "above and beyond" customer service. In my family's restaurants, we require our managers to read "Setting the Table" by Danny Meyer. A simple sparkling water and shrimp are probably close in value, but if the bottle costs more, well that compensates for the kitchen error and creates a better customer experience for a customer who is compromising so you don't need to waste money making a whole new burrito to begin with!!! On top of this, the birria was a huge wad in the center of the burrito. It also had no flavor as if it wasn't soaked long enough and without the proper chiles and spices. Next, they have a huge selection of salsas in bottles. None of them have any flavor. The jalapeño salsa says it's the spiciest. I could swish it around my whole mouth and not feel anything. The Mango Habanero is like drinking water. The fish taco was just odd, seemed cold. The fish had that older fishy taste, almost sour. That did not taste good going down. I drowned the taco in lime to make it better. One thing I found shocking is their guac actually wasn't bad. It's definitely better than Chipotle's bland guac. Also their location and build is probably awesome when it's warm and sunny. Rainy or windy, there's not exactly an interior to shield from the cold. read more

Woefully stingy portions. Husband ordered a Diablo shrimp burrito, first of all it was absolutely not spicy, but it really should be referred to as a cabbage burrito with shrimp garnish. My burrito was leaking so badly that it dripped from the paper lined basket ALL over my purse and pants. It also completely fell apart half way through eating. The tortilla chips that they throw in with each order were just flavorless, but I had to use something to scoop up my crumbling burrito. Such a fun and cute restaurant! You order at the counter and then find seats indoor and outdoor! They have so many unique taco, burrito and bowl options! I got a burrito, forget what it was called but had marinated pork, pickled onions and some cabbage slaw--so freaking good. They also have huge bottles of salsa on the counter which is key. Delicious Mexican food just a few blocks from the beach. Haggo's has a very comfortable patio and the food is fresh and organic. We ordered a few tacos and a burrito with very delicious ingredients. My fish taco's wild catch of the day was halibut and it was topped with fresh mango which was a really nice and sweet touch. The azul taco came with very tender grass-fed beef, caramelized onions, shrooms, arugula, blue cheese, and cilantro. It had that sweet & savory thing going on that I love so much. Since you're just a few blocks away from the ocean you'll feel that wonderful breeze. We had a new girl learning the ordering machine when we walked up and she did great. They even have a small parking lot directly behind them. We'll definitely be back here as well and I can't wait to try some of their other taco creations. read more

Drove from La Jolla on a weekday around traffic hours, but made it. The address on yelp did not match the location of the restaurant so we had to call to find out exactly where it was. When we go there, staff was friendly and seating was great. Loved their choices in sauces/salsas. The menu was great. Not too overwhelming and the ingredients were organic and of quality. Id say price is pretty high for what it is, but then again, prices are high everywhere. If you knew the original Haggo's years ago, you're likely to be disappointed. Even if you weren't around then, the quality--and thus the value--really aren't there. The poblano corn chowder was the best thing we had. The fish in the Cousteau (grilled) was overcooked, tough and mostly tasteless and the mango wasn't ripe. The grilled shrimp taco also lacked flavor. (Why I couldn't get it fried Baja-style is beyond me.) When they brought out FOUR bottles of fresh, homemade hot sauces, I was happy, but the joy was short-lived. Not sure if the new incarnation of Haggo's has any connection to the original. The new location is more modern, but I'd much prefer the low-rent, hippie-vibe location to pricey digs and marginal food. read more

The location is along PCH in Leucadia/Encinitas and has a relaxed beach town vibe which I love. They always have a rotating selection of margaritas and the counter server was knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely come here again.
