Charged $1,290.42 for a basic PTAC repair that should have been no more than $250. $956 of the…read morerepair was because of the owner, Joey, having to communicate directly with GE, which is in no way my fault, as the customer. I even told him that I would be happy to work directly with GE and handle all the phone calls, if needed, which I did on a couple of occasions when I found out they were having issues with them. GE offered me a new unit at $400, but we said no since the unit was still under warranty and there would be no way the cost of repair would exceed that, so we thought. GE would not pay the extra amount and said they have never received a bill as such, which I let the owner of Trademasters know. On March 22nd, Joey said that he was going to send a partial reimbursement check, however it is now May 16th and I have not seen anything or heard anything from him, even though I have reached out to him three times checking in. I think he hoped GE would be "taught a lesson," but that's not what happened since they won't pay it. Joey and the techs were nice, but to say that I was blown away with this repair bill is an understatement. We could have bought a brand new one for $600 or could have taken GE up on the offer for one at $400. It also took over a month for the repair, which I have since been told should have been very simple. The bill, which I have attached, includes him charging for "nine hours of communication" with GE. Again, I would have handled all that and thought that would be part of doing business.
