I have nothing against her level of English however unfortunately it does get in the way. It's frustrating when someone puts words in your mouth and make you feel stupid. As a business owner doing services for people I believe it's a given to get feedbacks from clients. Never once have I complained nor told her things were her fault. Ever. I went there yesterday and showed her a picture of how I'd like my hair. She informs me that my hair can't achieve that color exactly and also adding that I complain. Please. Let's pull up our whole chat here if we need to. I understood that 1000% as she kept repeating herself speaking condescendingly as if I'm not understanding. The thing is she wasn't understanding me. I then asked her her opinion on what would be the best option to go with in order to get it as close ( not that I was going to follow what she says I just wanted to see what her opinions were from a professional stand point) she then turned me away and canceled on me. Alright, cool. I get it. I can respect a business owners decision as they have the right to turn down any services, I still tipped her 80$ for taking off my extensions for me not that I had a lot left on my hair. I'm not that kind of person. however again I really frkn wish she could've asked me these questions over the phone so I didn't have to waste my time driving back and forth. In a way, I don't want to write this review because this place is a little hidden gem in the world…read moreof hair salons. However, they do deserve to be bragged about!! After many extension consultations, I came to Dana and her cute little salon as my last stop. Other salons were either just not willing to make this a great experience for me, or definitely quoted too many extra services and pricing. After the initial extensions were put in, the stylist's first words were: "Oops, it's a little crooked. If you don't mind it, just try and pull some hair to cover the bald spot." Wait...WHUT?!? You know you screwed up but you want me to be okay with it? Extensions are $$$ & I had saved money so I could do cover my pixie cut as it was growing out. I left the salon because she said she couldn't do anything more that day. Can I tell you, having 6+" of the right side of my shaved head bare because the stylist misjudged where she placed the extensions is not a good look! I texted her within a few hours begging her to fix it and she was very upset that she was going to have to come in the next day on her day off because I was upset. Again, wtf? You goofed and now you're mad because you have to fix it? I was surprised she would want anyone to see her work looking like a disaster. After all, that is for calling card. I let her know I wasn't mad, but I had to beg her to fix it. When I went in the next day, she was frustrated and said she was just going to take them out. She wasn't willing to fix it. I paid how much to install these and she was going to take them out and not bother to fix the problem? Luckily the owner of the salon offered some of her extra tape in extensions. She saw the problem and while trying not to interfere, she offered a solution. That is when I decided to search for a new stylist. Dana responded quickly to my online request. When I arrived at her cute little salon, there was another consult ahead of me. I was listening to Dana discuss that person's needs and she was so professional, super knowledgeable, and accommodating! It immediately put me at ease and in a positive and hopeful mind frame that my situation could be fixed by Dana. As previous stylists pointed out, Dana noted my extensions were a bit messy but she definitely could fix it and make the whole hairstyle look fuller, more normal than it did, and for a fraction of what many other stylists were charging. Dana was not the most expensive, but neither was her quote the least expensive, but right in the middle, but her customer service, level of knowledge, and warm and friendly demeanor puts her way over the top of all the other salons I've been to. Trust me, that was over six salons! Then, the best news was that she could do my hair right there and then! I was the last appointment she had booked and she and her new stylist, Nikki, had time. I was over the moon! I did not have to put up with my funky, mullet looking hair another day. She took apart what I had already installed and added a few more tape ins and my hair looks natural, like it's my own, super cute now, and full volume! Not just a string of hair attached to my head. I am no longer self-conscious about my beads showing and having a thin set of extensions. I cried from sheer Joy as this was how it was supposed to be when I first thought about having extensions. Dana brought my vision to life and it was no more expensive than my first set! In my career, I have high visibility working with donors and large events and I always need to look professional. I'm not shy about telling people I have extensions especially when I have a pixie one day, and 24 hours later I have chin length hair LOL Another awesome addition to this story is Dana also does color so it is going to be a One-Stop shop for me! I know I know, this is a super long review and I edited it down already! But it is important to know I did do my due diligence and research and Dana was by far the most knowledgeable, down to earth, professional, most experienced stylist that I met with. I also referred her to my other stylists up in LA, Hawaii, and Washington for when they have clients who move to Orange County. Dana and Nikki are amazing! I'm embarrassed but I believe I told them I loved them at least five or six times. If you are in the market for new extensions or just maintenance, I honestly say to come straight to Dana and don't bother meeting with all the other salons in the Long Beach area. I've done all the leg work for you! PS if you have never had extensions done, absolutely come to Dana. She listens to what you want, tells you what she can do, and offers so many ideas, suggestions, and solutions. She also knows the best type of extensions for your needs. However, do your research. Extensions are not cheap. Yes, it's like a car payment or half your rent for a month LOL. My photos only show the result of what Dana did. It was too embarrassing to take photos of my before look!
