I started off with medium length thickkkkkk brown hair with balayage with root smudge and a bit of root growth and they got my hair be so even and strong!!! I asked for an ash blonde and showed them a photoshopped picture of my inspo and they were able to get it exactly! After a few washes, my hair is so strong and soft as it was before. There was no breakage, my hair stayed the same length, and feels incredibly healthy. Huy also does a great job of keeping in touch and helping guide my through maintaining my hair. I don't just go to random hair salons, I do my research and make sure they can deliver, and delivered they did! Huy worked his magic and I sent him my current hair state, which had lots of banding and unevenness from a previous poor hair job I gotten done. He had to retouch my roots, fix the banding, and make sure the bleach and everything came out seamless as one color. Although the process took 8 hours at around $600, I am so happy with how he did my hair! I've been going here for a year to get my platinum blond touched up. I'm not always very on top of it; it's recommended you do it every 3-4 (preferably 3) months or else you risk banding (uneven/patchy bleaching) due to your growth being uneven (the line where your bleach ends and virgin hair starts only stays straight for about 3 months). It also makes it harder for your stylist(s) to touch it up. With all of this in mind, Huy has been nothing but accommodating towards me--even the times I've returned to him with 4+ months worth of growth. My hair is naturally a level 1-2 and my goal is a level 9-10 pale blond... not easy to achieve. I had to go through 3 before I found Blue Sky Hair. Don't be discouraged by any negative reviews you might see. English isn't their native language, but they will try their utmost best to accommodate for you and communicate with you. I've been going to Huy for about 3 years now, and he is the only person who I will ever let touch my hair. I promise you, he is the best and he will deliver on whatever hair color and style you want! I am a Filipino-American with practically black hair. The issue with having Asian hair is that not very many hair stylists know how to deal with Asian hair. I've tried so many hair stylists before Huy, and he is the only hair stylist who has ever been able to lift my black hair to blonde in one session. Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed with my haircut. I don't know if it was a language barrier because I'm not Vietnamese, but I didn't realize that would be an issue since I saw so many glowing reviews. I was browsing Yelp and wanted to try this new spot since I moved here and needed a new hair stylist. I was desperate to get my trimmed because it was so heavy and thick, and I was glad they had a same day appt available. The place was clean and no frills. I think I saw they opened recently, and I was happy to support small business. I don't see myself as that picky with my hair when I was looking for 3 inch trim, some layers underneath, and not any layers on top. I said some face framing layers are ok though. I didn't get asked many questions about how I style my hair nor did he ask or confirm where I part my hair. He just automatically parted it down the middle when I usually do the side. 3 inches chopped off, no issue there, but there was a lot of thinning out on the bottom. Huy sounded like he knew what he was talking about so I trusted him when he mentioned it may be better to not layer underneath and to thin the ends out a bit instead. I also mentioned a little face framing was ok. I looked down for a minute and back up and was super shocked that the face framing ended up being super short like just under my chin when I was imagining a little bit of layers. I was too surprised to say anything and trying to think that a new change might be good. I'm still adjusting and trying to think of the positives like maybe I'll end up liking it, but it got worse. I was fine with blow drying it straight since that's what I usually do, but Huy offered to round brush dry so I was like fine, I don't really care. I didn't even know how to react when the round brushing was so intense, and I did not end up liking the way it was styled. The true measure of a haircut is to wait until you wash and dry it yourself to see, and these photos are worse than when I got it cut because there's no round brushing to hide anything. I'm sad and looking back, I should've read the reviews closer because all 5 stars is too good to be true so I'm not sure if they're not real or they were bought. That or they just do color well there? Either way, I'm super disappointed and wish it didn't turn out this way. Huy was pleasant, not chatty, and the salon was fine with plenty of parking in the plaza. I was hoping this would be my new go to salon :( Need to find a new stylist to either fix this or let it grow out sadly! read more

I've dyed my hair a couple of times. Most have been box dyes with one professional dye. I've never had my hair bleached because I was always worried it was going to damage my hair too much as my hair already had some damage. I found this salon through Yelp as I wanted to do a type of fox tail inspo for my hair. Looking at Huy's previous works I felt like I could trust him. I was so right too. Not only did he manage to achieve what I wanted but he went up and beyond! I love my look a lot! Even after all the bleaching my hair feels nice. Don't look any further! This is the place you want to get your hair done! Huy and his team does the best hair color I've ever had. He is really detailed and patient. Based on a quick consultation over text or DMs he'll be able to mix up your perfect hair color. I get compliments on my hair the moment I leave his chair, even months after when the color has faded because it's just that good. I always refer them to his Instagram because the inspo photos are I've been going to Huy more than two years now and I always leave so pumped up about my new hair. He took me from really dark virgin hair to a cool toned ash brown that slowly fades to a pretty honey blond. I never have to come back for a second session he does it all in one day. If you have dark hair, especially Asian hair many salons will tell you you different info about bleaching/processing multiple times/days but Huy always does it in one session for me. He keeps my hair as healthy as possible for bleached hair and includes treatments to keep it shiny and strong. Even with bleach my hair went from shoulder length to mid back. If you're getting fashion colors be ready to sit for the whole day. I typically arrive in the morning and leave around 6 because he takes his time making sure everything is bleached evenly before applying color. Don't be afraid to ask questions and give input on what you like. Stay hydrated and bring snacks and entertainment. When you go in be honest about any color or bleach you have in your hair previously. This helps them achieve the best results and saves your hair from damage. I've been going to Huy a little less then a year for my roots and color touch-ups. He is great and I really like that he uses Olaplex and b3 Brazilian Bond Builder products to protect my hair! Once he lifts my hair from a level 1 to 10, he uses a b3 bonding treatment spray to strengthen the hair, and then blowdried and flat irons it. This treatment keeps my hair strong and beautifully straight. And THEN he does my color! (This photo is Pravana Pretty in Pink ) That extra b3 spray step makes a huge difference in my hair health compared to other stylists I've gone to. He is also great because he focusing on 2 clients at a time, so I feel like my hair gets enough attention when I am there for 8+ hours.
