After moving from Boston a few years ago, I struggled to find a really good hair stylist until my friend told me about Lindsay at Hair Affinity. I've been going to her for at least 4+ years now and she's awesome! She's always up on the latest hair trends and techniques. I trust her advice even when she tells me not to do one of my crazy hair ideas. She really cares about her clients and is a super cool/nice person. After recently making a full time move to Brewster, it became well overdue for me to get my hair done and traveling off Cape to the salon I had been going to for years wasn't in the cards time wise. There are a ton of hair salons down here, and I wanted to find the perfect one to refresh my faux-natural redhead color and cleanup the overgrown, dried out ends of my long locks without taking too much off. I hate telling a stylist what to do since they're technically the expert and know best what would work or make suggestions, so really like to share my thoughts and let them go from there, with a lot of: "whatever you think would be best..." responses. So after educating myself about the salons in the area and reading as many reviews as I could find (raving about Hair Affinity & the talented ladies behind the chairs there...) I decided to call and make an appointment for a color, gloss, cut and blow dry They knew I was a new client, and asked a few questions about my hair type (length/thickness) [which I thought was great to inquire about prior to my initial appointment, since my hair is long & thick and takes more time to manage than thinner/shorter hair from a scheduling perspective] and made an appointment for the following week with Cassidy (who's name I recognized from all the positive reviews I had had read.) I throughly enjoyed my entire experience the day of my appointment, Cassidy is fantastic!! So friendly, professional and knowledgeable - she made sure she understood my vision and did an AMAZING job executing the most perfect pumpkin spice/ginger color tone, explaining the entire process so I knew what was happening and gave me the perfect cut/reshaping the angles, adding some long layers, while keeping my hair super long. It looks soooo good & healthy!!! The price point was comparable with what I had been paying at the previous salon & you get a little new client gift after you've paid, which came in handy to use the following weekend when I was in Sturbridge getting ready for a wedding and needed hairspray that still left my hair flexible. I cannot wait to make my next appointment! **one thing I would note is to bring cash/check for tip as you cannot add gratuity onto your credit card slip. I started going to hair affinity to get my hair done for my sons wedding in Chatham. Since Cori did such s great job on color and style I keep coming back. I travel from west of Boston to get a good cut and color. I had a French twist done and my hair was not quite long enough but Cori made it happen. My hair was elegant and I felt amazing. My son and new daughter in law were so happy with how I looked. Looked so good my second sons fiancé asked me to wear it the same way for their wedding. Over a year ago, I got an appointment at Hair Affinity with Raimi because my regular hairdresser at another salon was ill and I had to get the roots done! I was so pleased with her that I never went back to the other salon! Since I have totally white hair and am not ready to look like a grandma yet, I go in for color frequently. Since it's a 'blank slate", I let Raimi suggest what would work best with my hair type and coloring. I trust her judgement completely and most times, when I'm ready for a new style or cut, I just tell her to do what ever she thinks best! I've always had awesome results and get compliments frequently from perfect strangers who ask who did my hair. ! I went in today to get my hair done, and I am beyond happy with the results. My hair prior to my visit was long and I had bad roots as well as some dead ends that needed to go. I got a full foil, cut, and blow dry done by Lindsay and I am beyond happy with the results. I was charged the same price they told me on the phone. Cassidy is amazing. She fit me in last minute on the eve of Valentine's day and cleaned up my bob. She was very insightful on ways to style my hair as well as alternatives. I have very thick hair, and stylists tend to rush through my alloted time. Cassidy took her time with me and made sure I was 100% pleased with her work. I cannot praise this salon enough! From booking my appointment (last minute on a BUSY weekend, to checking in with NO wait time, to my stylist Lindsay's incredible talent, upbeat and engaging personality, and fine attention to detail and obvious love of her craft- my experience here was top-notch. I can be a difficult salon customer...I have very thick, frizzy, unmanageable hair and a lifetime's worth of traumatizing haircuts to back up my skittishness around anyone with scissors...I dont part easily with my locks. I'm also a bit of an outdoorsy tomboy and have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to style. Being said, I came to Lindsay with 3 years of split ends and a real fear of losing the length I loved. I put all my trust into her to spruce me up using her own standards and creativity, and she knocked it out of the park! I still have my long hair, with long full layers that shape and flatter my face...I LOVE the way I look! To boot, the salon is bright, modern, very clean, and welcoming. I see Raimi whenever I am bored with my hair. She is ALWAYS able to fit me into her schedule and takes the time to talk out ideas with me. I am a big over planner/overthinker, but when I go in to see Raimi, I hardly think about hair decisions because I completely trust her! I go to Cassidy at Hair Affinity for my hair and wouldn't dream of EVER going to another salon again! Cassidy is fantastic!! My hair is very thin, very damaged, and very hard to work with. I've had past bad experiences elsewhere with stylists who are too rough and pull on my head or actually vocalize their frustration with my damaged hair. Cassidy is always patient, kind and helpful. I went in for a color and she treated my hair with special conditioner to make it easier to work with and a more pleasant experience for me as well! I trust her implicitly and gave her free reign over my hair. She always asks my opinion but I am happy to let her do what she thinks is best, I trust her THAT much. My hair has never looked or felt better, even after leaving the salon I am thankful for having such a caring, knowledgeable stylist who can really recommend and deliver a cut and color with lasting results. I love this Salon so much! Such a great atmosphere and the staff is wonderful! I had been going from hair dresser to hair dresser for years until I found Raimi. So I have been living in Boston for the past two years and have tried 6 of the most prestigious salons in the greater Boston area to try and achieve the color blonde and cut that I wanted. I have paid anywhere from 180 to 250 for a single visit. Right when I was about to give up on ever being a blonde, my friend suggested I try Lindsay from Hair Affinity in Chatham. Lisa was fantastic.........I am very fussy and needed to have my color done and she matched me perfectly and also added a few highlights which were needed. She's taken my hair from faded box red with roots, to all over blonde highlights without looking orange, and back to vibrant fiery red again. I recently got married, and had my and my bridesmaid's hair and makeup done at our hotel in Truro. Cassidy did my hair exactly as I wanted, in loose beach curls that lasted the entire night, and Carri made my face up exactly as I requested--a subtle look where I still looked like myself, just a bit better :) I just got my wedding photos back, and my hair and makeup look fantastic, and held up through 5 hours of rain and dancing. I was in desperate need of a manicure. Hair affinity had one opening that fit my time frame during the 4th of July weekend. The manicurist was wonderful and the manicure color lasted two weeks. I told her how I loved OPI nail envy and she used that as the base and top coat which I attribute the long lasting results to as well as her skillful preparation of the nails. In July, I thought I would try this hair salon and I still regret it. First of all, I made an appointment for a wet cut. When I got there, I told the girl what kind of haircut I wanted and then I explicitly told her what haircut I DID NOT want. I could not believe my eyes when I saw she had given me the exact haircut I had told her I did not want. This haircut is a nightmare. First, it was ungodly short with those two sideburns or whatever that older ladies sometimes sport and which I told the hairdresser I did not want. When it started to grow out, the back became a mullet. I doubt this haircut will ever grow back evenly and correctly, it is just a butcher job. I kept waiting for the day it would look ok, and that has not happened yet. LOL I would never, ever return to this salon. It is the worst haircut I have gotten since I was 10 years old and I am in my 60's now. Oh yes, and I was charged for a regular cut, not a wet cut. Bad salon on every level. read more
