Just got pedicures with my daughter at Nails 2000 for the first time in yeeeears! They expanded the salon, and it's so much bigger and nicer now. It's still the same owners, and they were both so sweet and welcoming. My daughter had Sophia, and she was absolutely wonderful. My daughter is such a sweet, gentle soul, and it's not always easy to find someone who's genuinely kind and patient with teen girls. lol Sophia made her feel so comfortable and was so sweet throughout the entire appointment. I don't usually air my grievances on social media, but I'm beyond frustrated! For Christmas, I went to Hair and Nails 2000 on Woodside Ave (next to Planet Fitness) and purchased a gift card as a present. The owner helped me, I paid, received my receipt, and left. I then put the gift card in a Christmas card, sealed it, and gave it to the recipient. Today, I was informed that when the recipient tried to use the gift card, the balance showed as zero. I checked my receipt and confirmed the payment had been made, so I returned to the salon with the card and my receipt. Unfortunately, the owner was no help at all. He claimed he couldn't figure out why the card had a zero balance and wouldn't answer my questions. After a lot of back-and-forth, he finally agreed to reload the card, but his comment that "the card could have been used before I gifted it" was completely unreasonable and infuriating. I've been a loyal customer of theirs since they opened, as has many of my family members and friends. I am not sure how the card (I paid for) had a zero balance. I am assuming it was never added to the card in the first place. However, to suggest that I used the card before gifting it, is ludicrous. I asked him to pull up the transaction details, but he couldn't, saying his system didn't show that information. This was incredibly frustrating and felt like I wasn't being taken seriously. In the end, the money was refunded to the gift card, but the owner refused to offer anything else to make it right. Customer service is clearly not a priority here. My time, money, and effort matter, and it's clear that they don't value their customers. In a small town like Lakeside, where community support is crucial, I expected better. I will not be returning to Nails 2000 and strongly advise against purchasing gift cards from them. I hope the owner sees this post and realizes that good customer service is essential for any business to succeed. P.S. After I walked out of the salon, I changed my mind and decided to go back in and have my money refunded. I will NEVER step foot in that place again! read more

I have been here a few times and was good but today had the worst pedicure. The lady cut big toe so much on the sides it bleed then did not even do the rest of my cuticles. My nails are all jacked bad trim job and polish is horrible. Sadly I will not be back. read more

It's honestly a hit or miss at this place- pedicures are mostly nice but it's a 50/50 chance you'll get a good full set. I had to get one nail redone because it fell off after one day- doesn't exactly look like the rest of my nail set- my pointer finger, atleast they were nice about doing it and fixing it. read more

I've been coming to get my hair cut here for about 13 years. Even before they moved to this location. I have been nothing but happy with everything we have ever received here. Now with covid here and them having to implicate new restrictions I am even more happy with everything they have done. John and his amazing wife put so much effort into making sure their employees can still work and they can do it safely. They operate outside; everything is wiped down and sterilized after each client, an everyone is wearing mask. Continue to support the smaller businesses. They need our help more than ever right now. I asked for gel French manicure polish only. Initially a great experience, then the polish started to chip. I compensated with a very good tip. Two of my nails began to chip, returned for inquiry. The gentleman told me he would need to put power on my nails so the polish won't chip. Have had my nails done like this for years (without powder) with NO issues, just wanted to try a place closer to home. What an unfortunate experience. Poor customer service. read more

Wow wish I would have scrolled down to see the "not recommended reviews" at the bottom of the page(they're all 1 star) I have my favorite spot to go to, but my sister gets her acrylics done here by her favorite girl so I gave it a shot for a girls day. Pedicure was ok, but I should have stopped with that. Minus my massage, that's usually the best part but she skimmed over it (And I got the broken chair ) I had to stop the manicure. I have too many cuts and she tried to remove my gel with a drill, they didn't believe me when I said I had gel on my nails, they kept asking if it dip powder. I've been going here for 18 years religiously even traveling 30+min. I recently stopped getting my pedicures done here because Prices were going up and quality down. Additionally, I have never paid attention to what they charge me vs what their pricing sheets show. Well, today I decided to look and questioned why they charged me $15 more than what their price list has. The owner looked dumbfounded and looked at the person who did my nails for a reason. I was given the reason my nails were long. My nails are no longer than the average person, I just have tiny nail beds so they look longer off the tip of my finger. Omg I shouldn't have come here!!!! I came to get a $17 Shellack mani done and a $5 wax and ended up paying $38. What a reap off. I have to admit at the bigening the lady was pretty nice but at the end she just took out her claws. My nails didn't end up as shiny as I wanted and kinda embarrassing but I also went in or a lip wax and the lady persuaded me to let her clean my eyebrows after I seed "no thank you I'm scared you might mess them up, they have done it before " and she seed ' no I just clean up no charge ' and at the end I got hit with a $25 for the Shellack and $13 for lip and brow when she had told me no charge for brow. I've used this salon for years and after having to wait an entire year to get my nails done again, I was so excited. Unfortunately I was beyond disappointed. In less than a week three nails popped off cleanly. I have another two that are ready to do the same. I asked for one level of pedicure and ended up being charged more than 20 dollars above the price I agreed to. Due to the struggles the past year, I let it go and considered it a little extra to help, but knew this was my last visit to this establishment. Nice ladies for the most part but it was seriously a butcher shop. Ripping and pulling at cuticles, gouging into your skin when filing and sawing back and forth on natural nail bed and jist plain uncomfortable and painful. I absolutely love this place! I had a disastrous set of acrylics put on at some hole in the wall on Jamacha, and my friend recommended this place to me. I had Tú (I think that's how her name is spelled, she told me it was like the number 2) and she's lovely! I asked her how long she's been doing nails and she said 13 years. She's such a sweetheart! She always asked me if I liked it, and didn't act like I was being a diva when I told her what I wanted. I've already got a hair salon, but this place is worth driving 10 miles to. I've NEVER had a bad experience at this place. It might be a bit pricey when it comes to acrylics, but believe me, it is definitely worth it. Went in and took whoever was available which was Tu. She's AMAZING!! She's sweet and does my nails perfectly! I've been twice to her now and the first time I got stilettos and this time coffin with ombré. Both perfect! Everyone is very nice there as well, it's clean, they do waxing, they take walk ins, they're open till 7 and they have tons of colors for gel, polish and powder. my friends and I wanted to get our nails done for our winter formal so we set an appointment for three. We got there 10 minutes before and they told us to sit down on the waiting chairs. As we were sitting there two other people already left complaining about the time waiting. After 45 minutes of us sitting there talking about how long you've been sitting there, they sat us all next to each other and gave us different nail colors to look at to keep us occupied. We sat there for another 20 minutes when they moved all of us away from eachother and started out nails. I asked the guy that did my nails for a simple almond shape French tip. And he could not do that. It's probably the fastest I've ever gotten my nails done. and that's not a good thing. He didn't prep my nails for the acrylics and didn't glue all the nails on properly. When it came to the powder it was extremely bulky and clumpy. My nail shape was not almond. I figured French tape would be very hard for him to do so I asked him for a plain white and he failed to even do that. when he finished my nails he asked me to drive them and he left and I never saw him again. I would have talked to him about it if I would've known that they were all messed up but I didn't because my nails were trying in the LED light. I ended up having to pay $50. My two friends got their nails done by these nice ladies and their nails looked absolutely beautiful. read more
