I went here as a walk-in due to a recommendation for Kim. Unfortunately she wasn't there and was given poor service by someone else. The pedicure lasted 25 minutes. She cleaned and shortened my nails. They look clean. But I left feeling not feeling pampered at all. I guess you get what you pay for. I didn't realize they had a Spa Pedicure on their list of services. This was not advertised nor did she offer. I would've gladly paid more for the service I was looking for than what I had received. If she had taken the time to ask me anything at all, It would've been a way better experience. I don't recommend this for a nail spa. Meh. They told me on the phone an acrylic fill was $25 (this is only for regular polish). Everyone gets gel now so that was very misleading -- it was actually $45... which is a little more than I usually pay at the other salon I go to. It was very fast, I will give them that. 30-45 min. The tech used a tool to take off my old color, buffed them, slapped more acrylic on, and painted them. No cuticle trimming or extra time using the tools to shape my nails or buff them so that the acrylic stayed on better. The tech also cut them very short, and when I said something she said "well, it will grow back." To add, they didn't have the color I wanted (light brown, which is pretty basic). My nails usually last between 3-4 weeks but after 2 weeks one popped off. Only gave 3 stars because it was quick like she said it would be on the phone read more

Asked for a manicure with clear coat polish, not gel. Started with the walk in after me being taken first, no problem. The person doing my nails used electric file on top of my nails, then in my cuticles, cut my nails, buffed for less than 30 seconds total, barely cut cuticles, had to show him where he left ny cuticles hanging. Then sprays alcohol on my nails, puts less than pea size drop of Bath and Body Works "Thousand Wishes" body cream on back of each hand and rubs on back of hand like I have leprosy. Tells me I'm good after clear coat of polish and tries to charge me $23 for full manicure. The manicure was supposed to be nail trim and shape, polish, a hand massage followed with a hot towel. and moisturizer. When I asked why it was going to be $23 they dropped it to $20 because I didn't get the massager the hot towel or the moisturizer. The quality of my nails looks like a five-year-old did them. The lady with glasses on did my wax yesterday and left a big bruise on my arm. She was applying think wax and wrapping the strip around my arm which was not helping at all. Every time she was ripping the strip off the edge of the strip stays on my skin which pulled my skin off. I kept telling her that it's hurting a lot and not to wrap the strip around my arm. She didn't apologize, instead she was like "Too much hair". I don't recommend this unprofessional place. read more

The crew in here are not very friendly, but that's not even the biggest issue. I got a gel manicure done and you know how they say it lasts up to 14 days guaranteed, I believe the employees here practice a 4 day policy. They were messy, quick, very thick and just not cute. The first time i came in here no one acknowledged my presence and I stood by the empty receptionist counter alone and abandoned with bushy brows for about two mins before someone graces me with a greeting. She tells me it'll be 10 mins...10 mins? I waited...and after 15 mins gave up fast forward a few months later. I thought I'd give it another try. This time, someone does acknowledge me, but they still say the wait is 10 minutes even though the salon looks virtually deserted. And this time, i was only going to give them exactly 10 minutes...but the lady called me back around the mark. I found this wonderful place through multiple recommendations on the Nextdoor app... I made an appointment for a haircut with Jenny. Upon arrival, I was promptly and warmly greeted. Jenny was very considerate and listened to what I prefer for styling and showed her multiple pictures on my Pinterest account. So I got a gift certificate from my mom for my daughter and me to come here for a mani-pedi. It is really close to my house and I was excited to use the gift certificate. I understood that was a lot of people for a small space, and I prepared for taking back to back appointments because of it. We just wanted to spend time together. I was told that we could all arrive together and that we had back to back appointments and would be taken when there was availability. My mom and sister took the first appointments and my daughter and I arrived 20 minutes in and came back to chat with them while they were being worked on (the entire point of making reservations together.) While talking with them, a specialist came and took me for my pedicure, right next to my mom. Here is where everything started to fall apart. The specialist working on my mom spoke sternly to me saying that I didn't have an appointment until 5 (it was 4:30). I reiterated that we had made an appointment all together and that we were told we'd be taken as availability permitted, which was fine, and that we were told to arrive all together. The two specialists then started to argue in front of us. It all seemed very unprofessional. One lady kept asking if we were together and the other kept insisting I needed to wait until 5. I was confused and I felt very uncomfortable. The kicker was that when we went to pay, our gift cards (that were filled out to specify what they were supposed to cover and were purchased from the owner) didn't cover the services. We had a gift card for a child's mani-pedi for one amount, and another for an adult mani-pedi. They asked me repeatedly how old my daughter was (9) and then I was told that the amount I got was only for 5-7 year olds and that there was a different amount for older children. Not the same price as an adult mind you, another children's price. When my mom (who was right there) explained that she had purchased them from the manager and had told her the age of my daughter and was sold these gift cards accordingly, no one cared. So I ended up having to pay. It all seemed really shady. My daughter is big for her age and it felt like she was being treated unfairly for it. Every other place we've ever been had a child's rate and an adult rate. Period. Prorating by age is ludicrous. The customer service there is horrible. After the fact, I called up and asked what a child's mani-pedi would cost for a 9 year old and was told a price higher than my gift card and lower than what I paid. I have been coming to hair and nail care for 13 years now. I have been always satisfied with their work an customer service. I had a great experience today that I would like to share. I called in the morning asking if they can remove the gel from my nails, note that I had gel done at a place close to work and they use some bonding as a base which was almost impossible to remove. When I called hair and nails care they accommodated me when they were extremely busy and did a wonderful job removing the gel and applying a regular nail polish! I have been going to an a very nice, upscale salon in South Riding for years now. I decided to give to give this salon a try as it is close to work and I needed a pedi/mani prior to the weekend and this was the only time I was available. I called at 10:00 and they told me I could come in at 11:00. Being picky about where I go, I got there early not knowing what to expect. They took me early and I mentioned to the lady that I needed to be in and out in an hour as I needed to get back to work. Not only did she have me in and out within less than an hour, she did a great job! It does not have the nice, upscale decor I am used to, but I left happy. I would go there again if needed. I've lived right down the street from this salon for 15 years and I've never gone in because it looks unappealing. I drive out to Sterling because I know there's a place out there that's really good. One day I decided to save myself the drive. $30 later wish I had driven to Sterling. I can't say it's the worst pedicure I've ever received because she didn't cut my toe, but it was close to the worst. The girl was constantly answering the phone and helping other customers.
