I found Hailey by way of Groupon. I bought a "Cut & Style" package and she explained that the "Style" part was going to be her using her hands only to blow-dry my hair. I said that no stylist has been able to style my hair that way, but if she could make it look good, great! (She said if I wanted her to actually style my hair with a brush and or flat-iron it would be an additional $18) even though the Groupon said "Cut & Style". She said that she didn't know why it said that (but no explanation over the phone when I booked the appointment and told her I had a Groupon for the haircut.) 30 minutes into the appointment her next client arrived, so she rushed through my cut (it's uneven, so I'm going to have to go elsewhere to get it fixed now. I noticed a long bit of hair on the way home on one side. She did begrudgingly pull a hairbrush out to blow dry my hair. I can't recommend Hailey. She had a terrible attitude and left my hair looking worse than when I came in. She may have been having a bad day, but I would rather her cancelled my appointment than treating me and my hair the way she did. read more

I had my hair done by hailey sometime last year. I totally forgot to write a review until now. The other customers were right, she was balancing 3 clients at once (including myself) while I was there. Not only that, what was supposed to be a balayage, ended up being her dying my hair 3 different times to correct a mistake that SHE made. I was in the chair for 4 and a half hours. It was a nightmare. What I wanted: dark chesnut brown hair with a lighter brown balayage What I got: 1st, fire orange roots. 2nd, dark redish orange all over color, then finally an all over dark brown with randomly placed highlights. My scalp was in so much pain from the over processing and was healing and flaking for the next two weeks. I told her I was growing out my layers and that I didn't want them anymore. She then cut SEVERE and DRAMATIC layers into my hair and were very poorly done. I eventually went to a friend and he did about 7 hours of color correction and I've been trying to repair my hair ever since. Do not go to this woman if you value your hair or time. She knew I was unhappy and she knew she messed up and still charged me full price. Also I feel terrible for leaving a bad review, but I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. read more

Appt wasn't supposed to take longer than an hour. I was there for 2 hrs 45 min. She had way too many clients booked too close together. I could let that slide if my hair looked good when I left but it didn't. I got a basic trim, and that took her LITERALLY THREE minutes, no longer to do. What do you know, it's uneven! I also got an all over color. The color is fine, but it doesn't seem to be consistent throughout my entire head. Maybe it wasn't fully saturated?? Sweet girl, but not going back. I hate my haircut. She cut more than I asked for and added layers. Layers don't look good in my CURLY hair and she made them short. She never once asked me if i wanted layers and I never asked her to layer my hair. The haircut took about 10 minutes and she was running behind from a previous client. This turned into the worst haircut since I cut my own hair. I will NEVER BE RETURNING! I haven't straightened my year in a year but I will be doing so until this crap cut grows out. read more

After reading these reviews - I am starting to think I got lucky. Purchased a Groupon and made my appointment. 25 minutes before my appointment she texted me and cancelled. I was driving and could not read the message until it was safe to do so and by then I was 5 minutes from her. The text read "can't do your hair I don't have time I am doing highlights and I already have other appointments this afternoon so I don't think I will have time. Come tomorrow at 2pm" I texted back that tomorrow was not convenient for me and she went silent - no response. I texted what now? Still no response. A couple of days later I contacted Groupon and asked them to give me my money back. They gave me a trade in and I lodged a formal complaint with them. I texted Hailey that I cancelled the groupon and will leave this review. Surprisingly I got a response consisting of an "ok and a thumbsup" I kept the text messages as proof so that I can not be accused of lying. read more

I got a great deal on Hailey's services on Groupon. Hailey was very friendly and a good listener. She upgraded my cut and produced a lovely all over rich, brown color, accompanied by a few natural lighter highlights. The salon is pretty low-key - no fancy mood lighting, decor, or free glasses of wine / tea - but if you are looking for a great color and cut, I highly recommend Hailey. She did a much better job than some of the fancier / more reputable salons I've been to in Austin. read more

Do not go to Hailey to cut your hair if you value your image and sanity. She will be late or take off to run errands, her styling and cutting skill is poor, her attitude sucks, and her character is the worst. She is inconsistent in her ability to have your hair turn out similar (yes, I was foolish enough to give her a second chance), and she won't do complimentary trims if you're unhappy with her work, not even after only 2 weeks. On the character note, she and I bartered some of my ware for her cut. She owed me $25 still after all was said and done, and so told me she would color my hair for that amount. No dice! She said she didn't owe me anything, and to stop calling her. BTW, we only texted. Stay far far away from this girl and her scissors. You can only be happy you did. read more

I purchased a Living Social deal for Hair by Hailey. I made an appointment with the online appointment setter. I did receive a confirmation email and assumed she did also. I showed up minutes before my appointment and the door was locked. Her shop is not that close to my house, so this was troubling. I called her cell number that I was given, left 3 messages but called many times not only did she not answer at all, she never called back. She also did not show up at her store and I waited 30 min. Her sign on her door showed she was to be opened that day and time. Do not buy her vouchers. read more

I want to like Hailey...she's obviously talented! She's enthusiastic about hair and seems to like her job. On the down side, she consistently overbooks herself which means you will be waiting (typically) about 30 minutes or so at some point in your appointment so she can finish another client. She's also rushing which means mistakes are being made. Hailey is a great person, but I think I'll look elsewhere for my next appointment. read more

Add me to the list of unsatisfied customers. My wife had her haircut by Hailey through a Groupon we purchased. The haircut was not the problem. Nothing special but not terrible. The problem came first when booking the appointment. She canceled on us within 30 minutes of our appointment. We rescheduled for later that day just to have the appointment moved again. After her haircut and color my wife called Hailey for maintenance advice and was hung up on midway through asking her first question. Thinking it was a mistake she called back. I purchased a Groupon for a cut and single process color. I followed the instructions on the Groupon to make an appt through Schedulicity, which is how you are told to redeem. I realized immediately after making this appt that the time would not work due to a scheduling conflict (oops!) so I got on Schedulicity and cancelled the original appt and re-scheduled for another day. When I left work early and showed up to my appt today, Hailey said that she still had me on the schedule for my original appt and that she would not be able to get me in. When I told her that I had changed it via her online system within an hr of the first scheduling she said the system had not emailed her and that she wouldn't be able to do anything about it. I have a huge event next week (I plan and run conferences) and am leaving for vacation the week after so my time is extremely sparse and the demands upon me right now are many. In other words, I don't have time for things not to run smoothly. Hailey's lack of professionalism and unwillingness to work with me to make HER MISTAKE right really put me in a bind. I am extremely unhappy with the service I received (in the form of receiving no services) and the only thing good I can say is that at least she left me the time to leave this review and warn others. I was able to get my money back from Groupon and they were very grateful to me for providing feedback on "these types of merchants." Shame on you, Hailey! read more

I'd give this place zero stars actually. I came in and showed her a picture and my hair didn't come out anything like the picture except maybe the length. I had gotten color done so I paid good money and my hair turned out more bright red/orange instead of dark red/auburn. I didn't think she was even doing it right while she worked on my hair but it's not my profession so I was trying to trust her. After I was dissatisfied she didn't do refunds but offered to do a redo. I had already set up an appointment elsewhere not knowing she didn't do refunds and when I contacted her later to do a redo she did not respond. So now I paid good money for shit hair. Don't go to her unless you want terrible service and for someone to be rude to you. The way she texted me after I had told her "I was sorry not trying to be rude but I don't think I like the color in my hair." was so unprofessional and rude. read more

My worst experience with a hair stylist ever. After keeping me waiting she was in a hurry to get done and before even listening to what I actually wanted she cut my hair so short and when I told I did not want this , she just kept telling that's how it's supposed to be !!! I brought a groupon and never will I come here again . I should have read all reviews before coming here . Highly disappointed . Don't waste your time and sanity on this stylist. I purchased a Groupon for Hailey's services even after reading the negative reviews on yelp. All the Groupon reviews seemed to be alright (interesting....). I used the online appointment scheduling site and booked an appointment for the following weekend. I received a confirmation email from the website 24ish hours before my appointment and was looking forward to a haircut. HOWEVER - at 9:30pm(!) the night before my appointment, I received a text message from Hailey informing me that she was too fully booked to honor my appointment. She was polite, and extended an apology along with an alternative appointment time, which I accepted. When I arrived at the second designated appointment time Hailey was finishing the hair of a previous appointment. She asked me to take a seat while she finished up. 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to have begun Hailey finally finished the previous client BUT she had another client with an appointment scheduled before mine who had still not been seen. That client had been waiting for over an hour and a half. I decided that I had better things to do with my afternoon than to sit in the salon waiting room so I offered to reschedule AGAIN. Hailey was very appreciative and relatively polite and we settled on a THIRD appointment date and time. Low and behold, I received a text message from Hailey 2 hours before my re-rescheduled appointment informing me that she wouldn't be able to see me as something had come up with her scheduling. She offered to reschedule me again, which I declined. Props to Groupon who were more than happy to refund me the price of the deal I paid for to use with a merchant who would actually honor an appointment. read more

I got a groupon for highlights and cut.. and learned my lesson. Even though my highlights came out OK, I didn't like Hailey's attitude. 1. When she was brushing my hair after the color, she was pulling it too hard and you could hear my hair breaking. I had to tell her to be gentler and she told me "honey, i've been doing this for ## years.. I know what I'm doing". 2. The groupon was $60 but when i called to make the appointment she told me to not buy the groupon and just pay in person. That she would honor the price. She ended up doing my highlights TOO light so she had to add another color for toner (which she said it was $10 more). So, total was $70 plus tip. I was thinking of giving her $10 tip bc I always give tips, so final total = $80. When I gave her the cash (two $50 bills) she just kep them and said "thank you honey".. SHE KEPT $30 TIP!!!... i was too embarrassed to ask for the change so i left. She should have asked if I needed my change. She just assumed that she deserved a $30 tip. So beware!!!
