I found this place near my house and melissa, who works there is very friendly and cool. I would come every 3-4 weeks because my hair grows fast but cost is very cheap. Lillie is great! She takes the time to listen. What makes a great hair stylist is a great listener! This I know and figured out the hard way...I haven't had anything done to my hair in five years because I've been afraid of the stylist I've been going to. It seemed like every time I walked out of those salons, Ive spent a couple hundred dollars, and felt regretful that I came in the first place. But Lille is so awesome, she is also up to date with all the techniques and styles for men and women, but also, know the old school techniques, i.e. Straight Shave layering and deep head massage. Lillie has been cutting my whole family, my husband and 4 boys, for 2 years now, and I noticed she listens well and cuts well, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so happy I found Lillie again!!! She was my long lost hair dresser since I was going to her in junior high when I was still a little girl. I remember always asking my mom to take me only to her. Up until high school then I moved during college and she moved as well. Anywho, she is the sweetest everrrrrr! Super nice and she never lets me down with my cuts. I've gone to other hair dressers that get scissor happy when they see my long hair and always cut too short but Lillie knows I like my hair long and is able to give me great style and body without compromising length. She can lighten and thin out my thick hair so it's not weighing me down and I'm happy to say I don't feel like there is a mop on my head anymore. My locks feel soft and looks like it has so much more volume. I know some people prefer scissor cuts only but she used a razor to cut my hair. I personally like it and feel that she has the skill set for it. (Some people that don't know how to cut with the razor can make your hair look choppy, but this woman knows how to work a razor!) also came out looking more smooth IMO. I've been going to Lillie since I was 19 years old. She use to cut my hair inside a beauty supplies store near Azusa and Colima where the 99 Ranch Market is at now. The she moved to Le Han Beauty Supply and now she has her own place in Walnut. She is so accommodating and she knows what I like and don't like. Problem is she won't take risks with my hair. Maybe because I'm picky about my hair. I will always go back to Lillie even when I occasionally venture out and try a $80 haircut, for example. I met Lillie several years ago while working out, I know weird huh. We were working out next to one another and engaged in a short conversation, which brought up that she was a hairstylist locally. Now being loyal (sometimes)to my stylist who is in the W Hollywood area I kept Lillie in mind for an emergency cut. A few months later that emergency came and paid her a visit. The salon was a typical salon, but Lillie being the vibrant full of energy young lady that she is really lights up the place. She went ahead and gave me a quick cut, no frills, no thrills, just a classic mens haircut done appropriately and se-metrically. Now, I did not completely stop going to my main squeeze in w hollywood but when I didnt feel like making that awful drive Id visit Lillie where she always welcomes me with open arms and asks where have you been? Lillie is a great mens stylist but shes much more, she is a wonderful person with a ton of positive energy who loves what she does and loves her clients. She is not your snobby pretentious stylist who thinks she's all that, she is just herself, and like she says, " I just am who I am". Why am I just now leaving a review for Lillie, well tonight I stopped by without an appointment (which is suggested but not required, I dont think)and without hesitation she agreed to take me after what was her last appointment. It was late she looked tired, it was raining, but I was treated like I was her first client. Washed me up and started cutting away, as she sang ave maria, a true breath of fresh positive energy around her. I have been going to Lillie since she worked in Hacienda Heights. My best friend and her family had found her first and introduced her to me when I needed a new stylist. We all followed her over to her new location and she has been my stylist ever since. I have even taken my mother and sister in when they have been in town. Lillie really listens to what you need and what works for your hair...and what you can do with it at home. My friend has thin but wavy hair, I have thin and fine straight hair, my mom very short and wavy hair and my sister thicker wavy hair. We all know what works for us ...and Lillie makes that happen. Of course it always looks really great when she does it! As many other have posted, Lillie is almost always able to fit you in when you call for an appointment. And once you are a return client, she is always checking up on what is new with you, friends and family. It is a small salon, so if there are no appointments she may lose up and run an errand...but unlike another reviewer, I have never gone in and found only manicurists doing nails. I've been going to Lillie for several years now. My kids and I go to her regularly. My boys have been going to her since they were 2 and 3. Loved it because she's fast and does such an awesome, meticulous job on them. Perfect for toddlers. My older son is 8 now and the little one is 4. And she made my daughter look like a model. My daughter is pretty trendy for her age. Lillie didn't make her look so grown up, but gave her an "in-style" look. Perfect for an 11 year old. And if you're not quite sure what you want, she's great at finding a style that's good for you. I had long hair down to the middle of my back and I told her I wanted it chopped off short, but I didn't know what style to do. I told her how short I wanted it (chin length) and that's it. She gave me a whole new look that earned soooo many compliments. Totally made me look younger and up-to-date. And when I've had highlights done, she did them in such a way that when it started fading and growing out, it still looked natural. And best of all, she had done it in record time. Other hairdressers that had done my highlights before took 2-3 hours to do. One time--even 4 hours. :/ She did it in an hour. My husband has been cutting his own hair for over 20 years. He is VERY particular about how his hair is cut. He never liked going to the barber or a hairdresser because he would always end up fixing it after. Cutting his own hair can be time consuming. So he'll go to Lillie when he gets lazy to cut his hair. She was the only hairdresser that can get it close to how he likes it when he cuts it, and she does it in 15-20 minutes. She also does threading. She does my eyebrows perfectly without ever nicking me. Some threaders that's I've been to have cut me. In all the years that I've gone to her, not once has she cut me. And the absolute best thing I love about Lillie---she always makes time to fit us in her schedule some how. I just call in to see when she can fit us in, and majority of the time she fits us in within an hour or two, if not that--she'll take us immediately. She has also done bridesmaids' updos for a couple of weddings we've had. Definitely go to Lillie for your hair care. I always refer her to all my friends and family in the neighborhood. read more

She is so upbeat and kind/ fun to chat with. She gave me a "feathered" haircut-- leaving the long length I wanted, but cutting off all the damaged ends/defining my layers. I go to Lillie religiously every month. I commute from Orange County just to get my hair done from her. She is amazing! Great location: centrally located by Mt. Sac and by many interesting restaurants! The store is small and cozy! Never crowded, the longest wait I had to endure was for a one or two people! Lillie is wonderful! She knows exactly what I want in a haircut. I never am disappointed when I go there and I leave looking sharp. She gets me looking real good for my dj shows! Getting my hair cut here was a horrible experience. Both of the local places I go to usually were booked and I had an impromptu job interview the next day, so I went here because it was the only local place with reasonable reviews on Yelp. Before arriving, I called and spoke to Lillie simply asking her price and if she could accommodate me at such short notice. She simply said "yeah, come over" and hung up. Upon arriving, the place was not busy at all. There was just only one other customer being worked on by another employee, and then there was Lillie. Lillie greeted me when I walked in and continued talking to her employee. I sat there for ten minutes listening to these three women talk about purses and other mundane things, which I thought was very rude. Here I am, a customer, and there's Lillie, completely free, and yet I'm sitting there for ten minutes without being serviced. When I inquired when she would cut my hair, she said "oh yeah!" almost forgetting I was there. She put on a pair of latex gloves, grabbed a paper towel, and proceeded to clean the sink in which she wanted to wash my hair, which was covered in a layer of dust. After aggressively washing my hair in cold water WITH her latex gloves on, she proceeded to cut my hair, not with scissors, but with what looked like a cardboard cutting blade. She would literally grab chunks of my hair and saw off the ends. Upon leaving, she said she'd match the price of what my regular stylist charges if I promised to return to her for my next haircut. Great woman who cut my hair, even though she wasn't working today she bothered to come from her house to cut my hair after I called about getting a woman's haircut. Extremely friendly and gave a lot of tips on how to give my hair volume, which is normally pretty flat. She fixed my hair that I attempted to cut by myself and made it full and fixed my choppy layers. Although she uses a razor which is unconventionally because people use scissors, she explained that it is a skill she learned in Vietnam and gives a more feathery cut as opposed to the blunt scissor, and what she said proved to be true as my hair turned out beautifully due to her expert hand. Would definitely come back here and Yelp reviews are great for a reason. She makes you feel good about yourself and has a great attitude towards life, you can easily tell that. read more
