This has been the most disappointing hairstyle I have ever gotten. I went to a consultation the…read moreweek before with one of the stylist and she said that what I want is doable. I ended up being scheduled with someone else because I was confident that no matter who I got, I would end up loving the results, unfortunately, that was not the case this time. Now when I showed up, I showed the hairstylist the video of the hair color that I wanted and explained to her that I understand that my hair won't look exactly like the video due to the girl having a shorter haircut , but I did say that I did want the raccoon tail. One side of the blonde is more gold than the other and she told me that I have to come back at the END of the service. As you can see it it's just a simple two tone hairstyle. Not to mention at the end of the service she did not blow out my hair but instead tried to style it curly because that's my natural hair, but it ended up looking really bad. I'm not sure how else I could've communicated to get the results I wanted. Yes, I should have told her that I wanted my hair to be blown out, but by this time I just wanted to leave. I did schedule an appointment to get the blonde piece in the front fixed but at this point, I think I'm gonna cancel and move on. The hair color itself is not bad whatsoever and I think she did great on the haircut! Unfortunately, the color is not what I asked for. Looking back the sectioning of the blonde isn't great either. One side of my hair has 2x more blonde than the other.This overall felt rushed. Not sure what I can do myself to fix my hair but I don't think I will be going back here for a color service for a long time and if I do it won't be with that stylist. EDIT: the response to this is ridiculous. Did you want me to say to the hairstylist "No, I'm not comfortable with you doing my hair because you have carpal tunnel" Why would I have a problem with that?! A poor job shouldn't be excused just because I said it was ok for her to do my hair even though she was having a flare up. It's not up to me to gauge if she was in proper condition to do my hair. I'm confused how that's falling on me. She could've easily canceled the hair appointment and all of this could've been avoided. Besides the blonde piece in the front that was gold, which I understood, she still did not follow what I asked. For $314 not including tip it would've been nice to have my hair done right. No offense to her, but why would you guys think I would trust her to fix it coming back a second time. For her to rush it again? Should I ask her if she's having a flare up and if she's going to be ok to do my hair? No thank you.

(Like 15+) It was damaged, dry, and even thinning on top pretty bad. After meeting with Sylvia, I explained that I wasnt sure what to do as far as color and cut but that my hair has really made me self conscious and depressed. She ensured me she'd be able to help and suggested I go lighter and get the red and dead ends outta there! She did say it would take a few sessions to get the red out before going lighter. I agreed and trusted her when she said that lightening my hair would soften my features a bit. Boy was she right! Lightening my hair did "soften" my facial features as opposed to the darker reds. As far as my thinning hair, she suggested a shampoo & conditioner which has helped my hair to grow back. The growth is a slow process but it's working! Sylvia is truly a blessing to me. God has given her the talent and skill to do hair! She listens to what you want, she suggests and advises, and she makes you geel welcome in the salon and her vibe is happy energy. I have curlier hair and it's been a struggle over the years, to the point I started trimming it on my own. At this point, I just wanted a pick-me-up from a professional. She did just that, and more. I was super anxious walking in, and she just put me at ease. She was gentle, considerate, and professional. She didnt rip my earrings out with her comb, she didnt cut off more than I asked, and she really cared about me as a person. The game changer for me was that she actually offered to style my hair curly/natural. I have never in my life been offered to have my hair styled naturally. In the past it's either been a blow out, or just leave with it wet, no other options. However, Shamika asked what kind of styling I preferred, if any, and she even educated me, in a thoughtful way, on what the best products are for my hair. My only option was to go back for her to add and smooth out my layers and she refused a 50% refund I requested since I am having to go get the color and serious cut corrected. Not sure why anyone would go back to someone who does this initially doesn't take ownership of their mistake. As you can tell from the photo I don't need anymore layers. After attempting a refund she sent me $25 via Facebook which I don't even have set to obtain funds vs the 225 I paid. $25 alone was for tip and I didn't say anything at the appointment because it was curled so couldn't tel until I straightened it. First photo is what she did second is my inspo picture. The color placement is terrible and the cut is so choppy. I sincerely hope she makes this right and continues her education in hair as this was not a great experience.

The salon itself is nice and the woman working the front desk is wonderfully friendly, kind, and…read moreinformative. My experience with Susie, however, was nothing short of awful. I originally scheduled for an all over color, cut, and style - something I've done at multiple salons, in multiple states, with multiple stylist over the last 20 years. I can say without question my experience with Susie was the absolute worst I have ever experience. She claims to have over 30 years experience with color and cut, but it seemed like she'd never applied color before. She was constantly flipping my hair this way and that way all over the place, laying it over my face, tangling my hair, ripping tangles apart. At one point she even 'accidentally' hit me in the face with the coloring brush! It took her an HOUR to get the all over color complete and then I had to sit an additional 30 minutes to process. I had color smeared all over my forehead and cheek and she just left it there! By this point I had had enough and told her once we rinsed the color I wanted to skip the haircut and just get dried. She responded by saying that I HAD to let her cut it because she had done a rough trim before the color and it wouldn't be even if I didn't let her do the haircut. At this point I did get a little aggressive because no one should ever tell a customer that they can not withdraw their consent! I very firmly told her I didn't care what it looked like I didn't want anything further than just getting rinsed and dried. Her shampooing and conditioning of my hair was very rough and agitated so I could tell she was upset that I wanted to leave. After being rinsed we went back to the chair where she proceeded to try to comb my hair with a pick... without using any product. No detangler, no leave in condition, no heat protection, NOTHING. It was at this point I just said Stop, we're done and got out of the chair. I checked out at the front desk and again the woman there was incredibly kind and understanding. She nodded along as I explained what happened and it seemed like this is a story she has heard before regarding Susie, she didn't seem in the least bit surprised by my experience. She also let me know currently a lot of stylists are on vacation but in a few months several other stylists would be available if I wanted to give the salon another try. Just based my front desk experience I would give the salon another try, but definitely want to avoid Susie at all costs!
