It is sad to see someone do a craft for so long, yet suck at it to the point of no return. If you want get wash, cut and dry your hair (not blow dry) within 20 minutes this is the place. That is exactly how long it took for Baha to destroy my 18 year olds daughter hair. The fact that she was in and out within 20 minutes with wash, cut and fan dry, is everything you need to know. Please do see for yourself and by all means avoid this place. He has no idea what he is doing. Also, in this time and age not including blow dry with the cut tells you what kind of place you are dealing with. Proper hair salons include a blowdry and style in the price of a haircut because a blowdry is essential for customizing and finishing the cut to ensure the final result is balanced and professional. I have been wanting to get my hair ash white from my dark chocolate natural hair color for YEARS and every salon told me it was unattainable without having all my hair fall out and when I saw Seth he didn't even flinch at the challenge and told me he would get me as close as possible and far exceeded my expectations. Made a last minute appointment on a Friday for a wash and blow dry and Dina was very patient and helped me get an appointment in even though they were practically all booked for a Friday. Came here twice, the first time I got my blowout with Silvia and she did a great job. She was very personable. The 2nd time around I made an appointment with Silvia but she wasn't able to make it in that day but I got my blow dry from Seth and he was also great. I followed Niko to Hair + Co from a previous location simply because he gives me a GREAT haircut. I have naturally curly hair that I get keratin treatments on and he cuts my hair in a way that works very well with my curls and regrow AND my hair also looks great straightened. Price for a haircut is also reasonable. Highly recommend! read more

If you want your stylist to listen to you and respect your wishes, this is not the place for you! I came in and said that I was donating 8 inches of hair. I even brought a ruler so that they could I see I was intentional about it and they didn't have to guess. I knew immediately that they cut way too much and spent the entire appointment trying not to burst into tears. She had cut a BRAID that was 12 inches long, and when I undid it to see the total damage, it was almost 14 inches long. On what planet is it acceptable to cut 14 inches (plus more for the haircut) after I said 8 inches? Also, I tried to handle this offline with them and they never responded to me. Baha is absolutely amazing and gives the best hair cuts. I came into the salon to see if I could tone my hair and get a hair cut. My hair was fried and lifeless after bleaching it at another alone. Baha was able to give me the perfect amount of layers and third my fine and lifeless hair into hair with fullness and body. My hair also feels 100x healthier than it did prior. I also loved how honest Baha was, he let me know that timing my hair would not give me the color I was looking for. I also forgot to mention how sweet and welcoming the staff is, they take their time when washing my hair and one of the girls gave me the best head massage every. I have never written a review before but after going to Hair & Co. in Astoria I found necessary. I have been to many salons and hairstylists both here and in Europe but the work that Seth does is not comparable. He has a way with hair. He pays close attention to detail, very patient and thorough. Baha is also quite impressive as I spent 6 hours in the salon so I was able to observe. In general, the whole staff is a remarkable team- friendly and seem to care about their clients. I spent a couple of hundred dollars to highlight and dye hair but it was well worth it. This new salon is beautiful, comfortable and chic-- everything a salon should be when you want some hair TLC and to feel good about yourself. I love that you can book your appointment online and how it tells you the price upfront so you don't get scammed after your hair is done like so many other places. e!I have been following Baha (the owner) for years to several different salons before he opened his own place. I get a lot of compliments on my hair and always refer people to him. My friend and I jokingly refer to him as "Baha the God." He will know how to cut your hair in a way that flatters your face. I love how he cuts my hair which is quite long. If you have ideas about what to do, he will gladly follow your lead as well. He does my balayge and is phenomenal with color and a blowout. I cannot recommend him enough.
