I love my stylist, have been her customer for years BUT the recently installed lights at each station are horrible. They are blinding and make it very uncomfortable to face the mirror. I've been a customer for 20 years. Saw a new girl last week for a haircut. I asked her to undercut my long bob, and trim 1 inch off. She started cutting the back first with my face away from the mirror. She cut over 4 inches off before I saw what she had done. Probably the worst haircut I've ever gotten. Everyone that has seen me since the haircut asked me what happened. It's just horrible. read more

Took my brother here to get his hair cut. They charged us $38 (NOT including tip). No treatments, just a cut. Staff are really nice and make you feel welcomed. Just sucks that they are so pricey. Definitely have to go somewhere cheaper next time. read more

I had made an appointment at the house company months ago for 2:15 pm when my appointment date came around my appointment was changed to 4:00 pm. I had scheduled to have my hair highlighted and cut by Lauren. Lauren did take about 20 minutes putting in the foils but than left me sitting for over an 1 1/2 while she cut and and colored other people hair. Her assistants check on me and decided when the highlight was good. Lauren's assistants glazed and washed my hair, while Lauren was attending to other clients. As Lauren's assistant. proceeded to blow dry my hair. I had to ask them to ask stop and go get Lauren because I wanted to talk to her about my cut and what I wanted. Lauren took about 10 minutes tops to cut my hair in style before leaving and having her assistant finish blow drying my hair. I expressed I was unhappy and didn't like the way she had styled my bangs. She never tried to fix them while I was there. or offered to fix them while I was there but told me to go home and try styling them I could come back. Was there for over three hours for haircut and a highlight and spent maybe a half hour with the lead stylist. I am very disappointed in the service and the haircut I received. read more

The first haircut in ages where I walked out 100% happy. For most of my cuts in the last year, and I've gone home and re-cut to fix what I wasn't happy with. I didn't even bother going to a salon the last time I was in desperate need of a trim because why bother driving and paying when I would just end up fixing it when I got home. Hailey was recommended by an acquaintance who is also sporting short hair as someone who knows their way around a pixie cut, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Hailey spent enough time with me pre-cut to understand what I was looking for and where my hair gets weird. She listened to me, looked at some picture, asked clarifying questions, and only then did she shampoo me up. It is a 45 minute drive from home to the Charlotte Hall location, but totally worth the drive. If you are challenged with finding someone to cut your pixie correctly, Hailey made this picky customer happy. read more

This is for the Hair Company salon in Charlotte Hall. I've always had a good experience here. I highly recommend Alexis, she's a wonderful stylist. I first visited her to try and fix a majorly bad cut and she spent over an hour with me to work a miracle making it look great! She's great about remembering me as her customer, my style preferences, and always takes the time to ensure I receive exactly the cut I want. I've visited Alexis at least 3-4 times and always leave feeling happier and looking better than when I arrive! As for the salon itself, everything is very clean and chic, they offer a huge selection of Redken along with a small selection of jewelry and a relatively large make up selection. I'm not really a make up wearer, but they carry a lot of Bare Minerals products. My mother-in-law also visits this same salon location and stylist and, like me, has had consistently great experiences here. All good things!! read more

I have been going to the Hair company since 2006.. all the stylist are very well trained and are very good! The front desk is always friendly and helpful when trying to book your next appointment or helping you pick out the best products! They are professionals and take their art very seriously if you are not happy they will gladly do everything they can to make you happy! Definitely recommend checking them out! read more

I like the layout of the salon and that they offer a variety of products. Katie cut my hair and she did exactly what I asked. She listened and knew how to manage my hair with the thick curly/wavy texture. I am always skeptical of trying new hair places but I just moved here and needed a cut. I am growing my hair out and she respected that and didn't try push me to cut more than I wanted (which I appreciate) I left very satisfied and will be returning to see Katie :) read more

Leonardtown Hair Company have obviously been trying to modernize and revamp their site.. It is looking great, very spacious and lots of funky accessories to check out in the front foyer which is great! They have also been investing in their talent too.. My regular colorist and stylist is Kelly- she always does a great job but this time she has really surpassed herself and hit the nail on the head with styling my bob. I am a VERY picky customer when it comes to my bob and Kelly has done an outstanding job, her attention to detail and also time she allowed to play around with various styles after she did the cut was excellent. You can tell she has put in time extra time and hours to master her cutting technique! Highly recommend! read more

This review is actually for their Charlotte Hall Location: now heat me out. I have been a patron of the Leonardtown Hair Company ever since Jessica still cut hair from way back. I went to the Charlotte Hall location for a 7:45 evening appointment with Brittany. Now she has cut my hair before, and I was satisfied. But today, I'm not sure what was going on in her world, because she gave me the worst chop of my entire life. It was bad enough I went to her asking her to "fix" the already poorly cut hairstyle my sister's stylist had talked me into ( I was already traumatized)..and then she proceeds to take those razor scissor things and CHOP my hair into basically a men's crew cut. I wanted to die when I was told this abomination would cost me $50 on top of my horror. She never turned me around in the chair to show me the error she had made on the left side of my head. I went home and cried my eyes out. I will never set foot in this place again as long as I live. read more

I scheduled my appointment 30 days prior to when I needed it. I received an email and text confirming my appt and replied with the "c" as requested. I show up on the day excited to try a new place and just before my vacation. I check in with the receptionist who goes to tell The stylist that I am here. About 5 minutes later the receptionist comes to me to let me know they have been having "computer" issues and the stylist will not be able to do my hair but they can offer me a percentage off on my next visit. I tell her that I received a text and email confirmation and she says that the something happened and their system has problems. Needless to say I will not try that salon again. I'm not sure how the system has problems and knew I had an appt but the stylist didn't! read more

I had a five star hair cut with a nice stylist but was really unimpressed with their check out process. I was paying with a credit card and wanted to add gratuity. I was told that they did not accept gratuity on credit cards and I would have to use their skeevy looking atm. I have never been to a salon that did not let you add a tip to your payment slip nor have I ever seen a salon with an atm. And of course it was $2 to use said atm and my bank charged me $1. So it cost me $3 to leave a tip for my $40 hair cut. Really wish this could have been a great review about my awesome cut, but instead it has to be about a stupid and inconvenient gratuity policy. This place seems to have good reviews but unfortunately I had a bad experience. I went in for a cut and a dye job.The cut I got was good but the dye job I got was not even close to what I asked for. I found it ridiculous as well that they charged me for the "toner or glaze" which is applied if the color doesn't turn out right. In my 12 years of getting my hair dyed I have never been charged for that service if the stylist got the color wrong. I didn't change my mind or anything, in my case I asked to darken my hair and in some places it was lighter than what I came in with. I should not have to be charged for someone else's mistake. They did offer to fix it but by then I had already been there for 4 hours and wanted to get out before they "tried" something else. The staff was super friendly but I most definitely did not get what I asked for and what I ended up having to pay for. read more
