This is a good neighborhood barber shop, family owned and operated by a nice Korean husband and wife. They are both warm and welcoming. Work: the husband Jae cut my hair, and I think he did a decent job. I was happy with my hair cut. He humbly told me that his wife is much more experienced. The key difference between this old fashion barber shop and the newer app based franchises to me is you get to see familiar faces over time. After all, hair cut is a personal service. Did a walk-in and was immediately put in a chair. I asked for layers and showed a reference picture of what I wanted. The cut turned out different but I think it was a happy accident. Styled the layers at home and it looked lovely. The lady who did my hair was very kind. Also, disregard the sign in the store saying they only accept cash. I took myself and my son here to get a haircut because it was close, had good reviews, and was fairly priced. Unfortunately, the lady cutting hair was unable to handle my 6-year-old son's wavy hair at all. She butchered his haircut, and for some strange reason cut the very front of his hair about an inch shorter than the rest of his hair. She was visibly frustrated during his haircut, and was shaking her head as she struggled. It was the worst haircut he's ever received, including haircuts that I've given him. I have been getting hair cuts from Hair Craze since we moved to Cerritos in 2016. Ted and Esther were warm and welcoming and always delivered. Their atmosphere was so relaxing, I would fall asleep while they cut my hair. Once Amy and Jae took over, they've continued that legacy and pushed it further. Amy is a true master-- she understands the nuances that comes with cutting thick Asian hair and she would provide the same great result. Moved to the area a few months ago and looking for a long term barbershop - I think I've found it! A small mom-and-pop type shop with very detail-oriented employees who are friendly and happy to help you with whatever type haircut you are looking for. Plenty of COVID precautions and I wore a mask during the cut (they remove it from your ears for the lower parts of the fade). The barbers are very good. Unfortunately, service hours and "first in line" is not a factor when thinking about customer service. Arrived at 9:00 AM for a 9:30 AM opening, door opened at 9:15 AM but Hair Craze rep was busy cleaning facility. Someone walks up and in and gets service. I walk in and question service time and am told they open at 9:30 while he's cutting the guys hair who snaked the line. Been coming here for years but now need to rethink future patronage. New ownership??? Not a good situation. Saturdays: closes at 4 PM Wednesdays and Sundays: CLOSED A cute Korean couple owns Hair Craze and do all the cutting themselves. They'll talk to you and make conversation. They even remembered me from a visit 6 months prior! I wasn't even the one getting the haircut Lol. My boyfriend literally told the lady that he needed his sides shorter and to keep his top long. With no other direction, she delivered a fantastic haircut. Literally WOW. We don't know how she knew, but she knew. Total cost was $15, which is pricier than we expected, but nothing to really complain about. Great cut, too. When my boyfriend's hair was a lot longer, that haircut was $25. Just got a haircut. Have been coming to the previous owner for over 30 years. He recently retired, but the new owner is very competent and friendly. She cuts hair as instructed, but I usually tell her to cut my hair so that it looks "clean" and "professional" and she does that very well. Yes, it is true-Ted and Esther are retired...mostly. But, I believe their Hair Craze legacy is in great hands. Amy, the new owner, has been cutting my hair the last few times I've visited and I find her cuts to be on par with Ted and Esther or maybe even a little better. I was delightfully surprised to see Ted today-he has come back to help on Friday's and Saturday's because of how busy it gets. I spotted this barber shop as I was driving by one day and made a mental note to look them up here on Yelp and give them a try if they had lots of 4- or 5-star reviews. It turns out all the reviews for Hair Craze are 5 stars, so I knew I had to give them a try next time I needed a haircut. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there were 2 other customers ahead of me. The shop has a very calm, pleasant atmosphere with soothing music playing in the background. I waited about 20 minutes for my turn. It appears that Ted and Esther are the only employees of this shop. Since I was new, Ted made it a point to introduce himself, which I appreciated. What's really funny was he asked if he had cut my hair before because I looked familiar to him. I told him that I look like a lot of people! :-D He asked me my name, where I lived and how I heard about their shop. Before he got started, he promised me that I'll be very happy with my haircut, then he got to work after I told him what I wanted. Afterward, he gave me the hand-held mirror and showed me what he did, and he was right---I was very happy with the work he did. :-) As someone else already mentioned, the price of the haircut was only $15, so very reasonable in price. I wouldn't mind coming back here again. Another reviewer said that Ted gives scalp massages (I understand this is a common practice in Korean-run barber shops), so I wouldn't mind giving one of those a try next time. read more

Hands down the worst haircut I have ever had! My hair is pretty darn simple. A zero fade straight up on the sides and back and a 7-8 on top. I even showed the lady multiple pics on my phone of a good haircut I had received before. This lady gave me the most crooked ass haircut it was seriously unbelievable. It pains me to write this update. Let me start by saying the "new" barbers are the nicest people and Ted the owner is an amazing barber and person. See my original review as I was very happy to find this place. Unfortunately it seems as though Ted is gone. I am not sure if he retired or is ill, as they will not answer to where Ted is. Not only have I asked the last two times there, but several people have come in and asked where Ted is and the give generic answers such as he is not there and they don't know when he will be back. On to the haircuts. Two times ago my two boys and I got sub par haircuts without Ted being there to watch over his employees and ensure they were doing a good job. It seemed as though he was training a few new girls (which is why I think he may have retired). 2 of the 3 haircuts were manageable, but one was a hack job and much shorter than my son asked for. He asked for less than an inch and the barber took more than 2 inches of the top. We decided to give them another try and see if Ted was back. Unfortunately we got the same generic answer and we still don't know where Ted is. My haircut was decent, maybe a 6 to of 10, but nothing worth Yelping about. My youngest son asked for a number 1 around the ears and back and then blended. He was shaved all the way to his part line. OK, maybe she just misunderstood and will do a better job with my older son. He asked to just be cleaned up with a very small trim. He got the same haircut, shaved all the way to the part line. The rest of the haircut was uneven and not blended. Needless to say we will not be back unless we find out that Ted is back. I don't believe they have been trained and it was like having someones mother with no experience try to cut their hair. 1 out of 10 for both of their haircuts. So sad and have no idea where we will go now. read more

Moved out Cerritos and had a string of horrible experiences with barbers. First one left my hair lopsided and uneven. Second gave me a faux hawk. Third made my colic stand up straight two inches above the rest of the hair. Each time I came back home my wife would look and start laughing. I went back to my old barber in the South Bay to try to get it fixed. Turns out she passed away suddenly two days before I walked in. So after all that I browsed through Yelp to find a new barber. Walked by one that was blaring hip-hop music out the front door. Not for me. Then I found Esther and Ted. It was like my old barber was reincarnated into an older Korean couple. First hair cut was with Esther and it turned out great. Second was with Ted and it was great too. I just told them how I usually would get it cut and they went to work intuitively.
