However, this whole appointment and the end result was too unpleasant for me to ignore. Tony was the one who did my perm and Tony was unprofessional. Please avoid having Tony do your hair. To start, Tony showed up to the appointment 15 minutes late (and his coworker was telling him his 11 o'clock was there) and then seemed very disinterested in trying to get the service started. Then, after briefly glancing at my reference photo and finding his own- Tony told me that my hair needed to go shorter and proceeded to give the most careless haircut ever. Total hack job. During the perm, Tony rolled each hair extremely tight that he even had to pause to massage his hands. The overly tight rolls bruised my scalp and Tony was so careless with placing the spacers between the rollers and scalp that I actually was tearing up because the pain was so unbearable. And even though I mentioned that it hurt Tony lowkey just ignored it?? To top it off- Tony ran out of rollers HALFWAY throughout the process so I had to wait with the crazy tight rollers for around 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). And Tony's not the one that informed me about it- Tony's nice coworkers were the ones that continued to check in and keep me updated. Also, the whole salon had 3 digital perms going on (including mine) and they kept grabbing the rollers coming off from another client and directly using it on my hair. I don't know if that's normal but I thought every tool was supposed to be disinfected prior to using it on another client. If the digital perm turned out the way I wanted- I would not be so upset but the curls were MUCH MUCH tighter than I asked for. But mostly the experience sucked. And it sucks because I had come here previously for a regular perm and had such a great experience that I trusted the salon for another appointment. I will not be visiting this salon again. (And clearly I am very upset towards TONY for screwing up my hair and being a total incompetent asshole throughout the whole appointment. Also, maybe you wouldn't lose YOUR VAPE IN THE FUCKING BIN OF DIGITAL HAIR ROLLERS if you weren't too busy vaping while doing your client's hair.)

I opted for a blunt cut with face framing layers, and she D E L I V E R E D!!! She trimmed the perfect amount and did not leave it short at all. It was the perfect refresh! And, her scalp scrub was 10 out of 10! I've gotten wash & blowouts at other salons, and my scalp will still feel dirty. But, not with Carolina! My scalp felt super clean and she hit some pressure points. The blowout was super pretty. I also talked to her about some minor greys I have and asked about her root touch ups since I was doing them previously. She was so honest and said she didn't recommend it. Instead, she recommended a hair product for cover up from the Style Edit (which she is not sponsored by, does not have a partnership with, & does not sell at her salon. I purchased through Amazon without her giving me a direct link) I've been using that and I'm obsessed! I got to save my coin and I appreciated her honesty. Which is why I reached out again when I wanted to do something fun with my hair for my 40th birthday. Since this is in an outdoor shopping center, there is free parking right in front. Although I no longer live in LA, I spoke with Kristie and she was just so over the top helpful in fitting me in into Ken's busy schedule. She was already in Taiwan for additional hair training and would respond to me, going back and forth between me and Ken. And mind you, this is before Lunar New Year, when most people would get their haircut! My day started right at opening time (10am) with a haircut. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he just went with it. I will say this honestly: I've never liked my haircut this much. Why did it take me 40 years??? Anyway, we then had my hair washed and started with the first round of bleach around 11am, and then touch up. By 1pm, I decided to eat my lunch. I came prepared this time! Quick story: 9 years ago, I had no idea this type of hair procedure would take all day, and therefore did not bring lunch. Ken and Kristie fed me lunch! They are the best people, I swear. Anyway, after a rinse, we did another round of bleach with touch ups. I made it more difficult for Ken because I had dyed my hair a darker shade to cover my greys. I'm so sorry Ken! By 4pm it was no COLORING TIME! Ken started with the purple roots, then added the silver to the rest, with rounds of touching up. 5:30pm is when we did our last round of wash, then blow dry and a bit of styling. After a quick photo session, I was out by 6pm! I really appreciate them both for making this work, especially when I took up an entire day. This last visit meant more to me than he probably knows. I had just been laid off from my job and had an important interview the next day. Even though Leo was fully booked for days, he offered to see me two and a half hours after his normal closing time. After a long day of work, he still welcomed me with kindness, patience, and warmth and took incredible care of me without ever making me feel rushed or like an inconvenience. I keep my haircuts very simple and I was shocked to hear that most places charged $70. D2's women haircuts start at $55. I was hesitant that it was much lower, but gave it a shot and I'm happy I did! Making an appointment was very easy and they were able to squeeze me in within the week. They had a decent amount of parking. The business is a bit hard to find because it was a very dark exterior. The salon looks bigger than it does from the outside. Not as modern as competitors on yelp, but it did its job. The woman stylist was great. She listened to what I wanted and I was out within the hour. She took her time carefully snipping while I asked for 5 inches offf. She was very empathetic when I mentioned I wanted more volume because of my recent postpartum hair loss. The priority was to hide my thinning hair. i called this salon around 12 pm, booking a same day appointment for 1:30 pm, and upon my arrival,…read moreonly waited around 5 minutes before getting seated in one of their chairs. prior to my haircut, my hair was waist length, and afterwards, is now chest length. i asked Dina, who cut my hair, to cut off roughly 3 inches, requesting her to focus on removing dead hair/split ends. i specifically informed her that i enjoy keeping my hair long. in spite of this, a whopping minimum 6 inches was cut off. if you're someone like me who enjoys keeping their hair long, i would highly recommend getting your hair cut somewhere else. the pricing for a women's haircut is $35 before tip, which is more affordable than other salons, but this price point may come with certain sacrifices, such as not having your specific hairstyle requests fulfilled.
