[[HIGHLIGHT]]Carolina is an absolute doll and a master of her craft!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She was kind enough to take me in even tho it was past closing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I spam called her lol, thankfully she picked up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She's pretty busy girlie so she's usually booked, it's best if you make appointments.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But she was so kind to take me in last minute. Her set up is very clean. I highly recommend anyone to come here for a hair cut or just color in general. She went over everything before she cut anything to make sure I was okay with it before she proceeded, something I really appreciate about her, she's careful and precise. I always stayed away from hair salon bc I always left feeing like they cut too much, cut uneven or don't give me what I wanted. But at Diamond In The Making I truly left feeling like a diamond. Carolina is a legit hair artist! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Making the appointment online was easy, and she had availability on my day off![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Her salon is located in the Sola Salon suites in Santa Anita Mall. Just park south of Macy's, east of the Arcadia Fire Department station and walk up the stairs to reach the studi[[HIGHLIGHT]]o. It's a one-on-one type of studio, so you have all of her attention. She makes you feel comfortable to share your inspirat[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]ion. I asked for a trim with many layers to help control my big, frizzy hair, and she did not disappoint! I got my hair washed, cut, styled all in under an hour while having hair-apy! It was so nice to be in and out all while getting to know her. Finding a good hairstylist is hard, but trust me when I say Carolina nailed it. I asked for a blunt bob, and she made it happen. I love my haircut a lot which is a first. Disappointed with the hair cut that I got. Good thing I didn't get my hair colored that day. My bangs looked so bad right after that I was too embarrassed to walk around the mall. My hair was cut unevenly and it felt like she didn't know how to work with my hair. Edit: Forgot to mention you ran over 30 minutes over late from your last appointment so I just ended up waiting for you outside. No I did not tell you to style my bang at all. I told you more than once that my bangs go to the left side but then you proceed to straighten and style it to the right and then you tried to fix it after realizing you messed up but it didn't work because my hair is very fine and stubborn. You also didn't bother showing me the back view of my hair cut. I have asked various hairstylist in the past for the same haircut. And it's all been good up to this point. This was the worst. I did not feel like you listened to me. Lastly, when I was getting my hair washed, your arm rested and dragged across my face, ruining my makeup, wiping off one side and the water was dripping down my back. Carolina is my life hairdresser. I am picky, particular as I just have lots of hair that intimidates lots of hairdressers.. as many previous bad hair dressers whom are overwhelmed have tried to cut down their time to spend on my mane ...using razor blades and shred scissors and just ruins my hair (leaving my poor hair disconnected and messy). But not this talented hair designer. She takes time cutting in scissors layering my hair so beautifully. I am left with hair in full volume and in amazing style. Carolina is amazing!! She was able to take me in for a last minute walk-in. Was quick to respond over phone/text and super accommodating. I've been on the hunt for a new hairstylist for a while now and decided to give this place a try which I'm so glad I did. Carolina really takes the time to understand what you're looking for, including your likes and dislikes. Very kind and communicative. I've always struggled finding a hairstylist who has understood my likings and hair texture. I would avoid getting haircuts or going into a salon because of how disappointed I would always be. I'm so happy with my haircut. I just want to start off by saying that I will only be coming here. I got the layers that I wanted in my hair, FINALLY. The exact length. She starts off by asking what you want with your hair and shows you how much she'll take off. Very professional and fun to chat with. My hair and I have always had a bad relationship. Love you, hate you, meh. Carolina, the premier hair therapist, has finally brought us back together. We no longer argue in front of the mirror in the morning or talk behind each other's back. Seriously though, my hair has not looked this good since, well, forever. This is long overdue. Carolina has really been such a wonderful find. Her skill set is not only on par with much more expensive salons, but she exceeds most of them in her professional manner. Making appointments are a breeze via text and her salon has plenty of free parking. Those are the basics. Now to her talent. She took my daughter from middle school to helping her discover her "hair identify" with layers. Layers and a cut so precise that there isn't ever a growing other phase. It looks as good on the day she returns as the day she leaves the salon. I'm a fan of her classic French bob with bangs. I judge my stylist by how well they can create a bob. I had such a warm and pleasant first-time experience with Carolina! It literally felt like we were just old friends catching up. I told her that I was really scared to get my hair cut because of past hair stylists going Edward Scissorhands on my head (I am not joking...). This turned out to be the best decision I could make. Before she started, Keke consulted with me about what I wanted. I feel like she truly listened. Keke took the time to actually stop and pause every step of the way and ask me what I thought of every cut, length and layer. I've never had a hair stylist do that before, usually I'm just asked at the end if I like it. She absolutely didn't need to do all that but that's what I appreciate so much about my experience. I didn't feel rushed or put on the spot, I was given moments to process how I really felt. For the first time in a long time, I really loved how my haircut turned out. Wispy bangs, face framing layers, and long layers throughout. Keke nailed it exactly how I envisioned and I feel like a new person. She even gave me tips on how to style my new bangs. Keke is patient, thoughtful, friendly and kind. I so genuinely appreciate my experience with her. I will definitely be coming back to get my future haircuts with her too!

However, this whole appointment and the end result was too unpleasant for me to ignore. Tony was the one who did my perm and Tony was unprofessional. Please avoid having Tony do your hair. To start, Tony showed up to the appointment 15 minutes late (and his coworker was telling him his 11 o'clock was there) and then seemed very disinterested in trying to get the service started. Then, after briefly glancing at my reference photo and finding his own- Tony told me that my hair needed to go shorter and proceeded to give the most careless haircut ever. Total hack job. During the perm, Tony rolled each hair extremely tight that he even had to pause to massage his hands. The overly tight rolls bruised my scalp and Tony was so careless with placing the spacers between the rollers and scalp that I actually was tearing up because the pain was so unbearable. And even though I mentioned that it hurt Tony lowkey just ignored it?? To top it off- Tony ran out of rollers HALFWAY throughout the process so I had to wait with the crazy tight rollers for around 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). And Tony's not the one that informed me about it- Tony's nice coworkers were the ones that continued to check in and keep me updated. Also, the whole salon had 3 digital perms going on (including mine) and they kept grabbing the rollers coming off from another client and directly using it on my hair. I don't know if that's normal but I thought every tool was supposed to be disinfected prior to using it on another client. If the digital perm turned out the way I wanted- I would not be so upset but the curls were MUCH MUCH tighter than I asked for. But mostly the experience sucked. And it sucks because I had come here previously for a regular perm and had such a great experience that I trusted the salon for another appointment. I will not be visiting this salon again. (And clearly I am very upset towards TONY for screwing up my hair and being a total incompetent asshole throughout the whole appointment. Also, maybe you wouldn't lose YOUR VAPE IN THE FUCKING BIN OF DIGITAL HAIR ROLLERS if you weren't too busy vaping while doing your client's hair.)

The stylists at this salon tend to take their time and let the coloring sit longer, which I have come to appreciate greatly. They have an online appointment portal that seemed easy to use and I'll try it next time - but I was hesitant initially bc the prices seemed quite exorbitant and wanted to be sure I wasn't mistaken so I sent an inquire instead. Turns out, yes, their prices are shocking imo - for just a tiny trim of my hair and bangs (less than an inch off) it was $70!! And that's not including the tip! No shampooing or styling even! So that was quite jarring for me - but the prices seem to pretty standard in this part of Monrovia. Be prepared for sticker shock lol. But to their credit, the shop is in an excellent location, is clean, modern, and chic and the stylists do great work. There are some parking spaces directly out front but it's limited - but the surrounding area is walkable with tons of free public lots. If you do book with Let's Go - I highly recommend Judy!

We saw the place many times while shopping at dollar tree in the plaza and thought it might be fast and inexpensive. When we arrived, there was plenty of parking nearby. The place is next to many stores and the front of the stores are pretty transparent with glass windows for walls. There were three staff, all were available and when we walked in they asked if we had an appointment. As he was getting his haircut from one of them, two customers came in, one had a 4pm as well and the other was a walk in and they were both accommodated right away. One had really long hair, they even wash your hair. The other was short just like my bfs hair. My bf asked to cut the top a bit short and at times he would ask a few changes during and the stylist would accommodate . The haircut took roughly 10-15 minutes. Since I wasn't getting a haircut, if you don't want to wait, there are clothing stores, cafes, restaurants and a dollar tree you can go to explore. The haircut was good (in my opinion), it was roughly 25$ which is more than we thought. They had a sheet of prices he showed my bf and that's when we realized we should've asked for pricing before making an appointment rather than assuming. Overall, I thought the place was clean, fast, and accommodating during a Thursday evening (they probably weren't too busy on a weekday which makes sense making an appointment on weekends if they do get busy).

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!
