Soooo, let me start off by saying that I get anxious when getting hair cuts because I've worked really hard to grow my hair long. I had to id a new hair dresser (bc I moved) and was so nervous since my previous hair dresser was so wonderful. Carolina was super friendly and welcoming. This was my first time meeting her and she took her time to discuss my hair goals. I shared that my goal is to preserve length but also to maintain its health. I opted for a blunt cut with face framing layers, and she D E L I V E R E D!!! She trimmed the perfect amount and did not leave it short at all. It was the perfect refresh! And, her scalp scrub was 10 out of 10! I've gotten wash & blowouts at other salons, and my scalp will still feel dirty. But, not with Carolina! My scalp felt super clean and she hit some pressure points. The blowout was super pretty. I also talked to her about some minor greys I have and asked about her root touch ups since I was doing them previously. She was so honest and said she didn't recommend it. Instead, she recommended a hair product for cover up from the Style Edit (which she is not sponsored by, does not have a partnership with, & does not sell at her salon. I purchased through Amazon without her giving me a direct link) I've been using that and I'm obsessed! I got to save my coin and I appreciated her honesty. I also asked about glosses (which she happily does) and she recommended continuing my in-shower glossing at home to keep my hair healthy. Carolina's integrity shines. Carolina is an absolute doll and a master of her craft!!! She was kind enough to take me in even tho it was past closing. I spam called her lol, thankfully she picked up. She's pretty busy girlie so she's usually booked, it's best if you make appointments. But she was so kind to take me in last minute. Her set up is very clean. She went over everything before she cut anything to make sure I was okay with it before she proceeded, something I really appreciate about her, she's careful and precise. Carolina is a legit hair artist! Making the appointment online was easy, and she had availability on my day off! Her salon is located in the Sola Salon suites in Santa Anita Mall. Just park south of Macy's, east of the Arcadia Fire Department station and walk up the stairs to reach the studio. It's a one-on-one type of studio, so you have all of her attention. She makes you feel comfortable to share your inspiration. I asked for a trim with many layers to help control my big, frizzy hair, and she did not disappoint! I got my hair washed, cut, styled all in under an hour while having hair-apy! It was so nice to be in and out all while getting to know her. Disappointed with the hair cut that I got. Good thing I didn't get my hair colored that day. My bangs looked so bad right after that I was too embarrassed to walk around the mall. My hair was cut unevenly and it felt like she didn't know how to work with my hair. Edit: Forgot to mention you ran over 30 minutes over late from your last appointment so I just ended up waiting for you outside. No I did not tell you to style my bang at all. I told you more than once that my bangs go to the left side but then you proceed to straighten and style it to the right and then you tried to fix it after realizing you messed up but it didn't work because my hair is very fine and stubborn. You also didn't bother showing me the back view of my hair cut. I have asked various hairstylist in the past for the same haircut. And it's all been good up to this point. This was the worst. I did not feel like you listened to me. Lastly, when I was getting my hair washed, your arm rested and dragged across my face, ruining my makeup, wiping off one side and the water was dripping down my back. I am picky, particular as I just have lots of hair that intimidates lots of hairdressers.. as many previous bad hair dressers whom are overwhelmed have tried to cut down their time to spend on my mane ...using razor blades and shred scissors and just ruins my hair (leaving my poor hair disconnected and messy).
