You won't find a better stylist than Allen @ Salon De Beaute, in downtown Monrovia. From the time you walk in the front door, Allen gives you his full attention. He is such a professional when it comes to making you look & feel beautiful. He listens to what style you want to achieve, then he gives you his professional opinion, and goes right to work. He's a very talented perfectionist when it comes to hair and beauty. I have dry, frizzy, unmanageable hair that's difficult to style. I always get so many complements when he cuts and styles my hair. If you look at his reviews, you will see that most people give him the 5 stars he deserves. If I could I would give him 10 stars. As to his bad reviews, we all know that it's impossible to please some people. Give him a try, you won't regret it! He's the best around!!!!!

I had been thinking about getting a Brazilian blowout for a while but I am very frugal and after living here 10 years I have yet to find my "go to" salon. The $99 banner outside caught my eye last week so I stopped in to talk to Alan, the owner. I did a little online stalking lol and I made the appt and so glad I did. My hair looks beautiful- smooth, shiny, and healthy! Alan was so sweet and the salon is clean and bright. Alan was very attentive and you can tell he takes pride in his work. I'm hoping he's as good with cuts... then I will finally have my go to spot :)

I received a fabulous haircut from Allen. He is positive, warm, professional, and a true artist. I felt uplifted and beautiful when I left his chair. I just found my go-to hairdresser!

Where do I begin? I was looking for a new salon to try, so I called Salon De Beaute and spoke with Allen who is the owner. I explained that my last haircut over1 year ago was the worst haircut of my life and has taken 14 months to get to where I can finally have a style shaped from the disaster. Allen reassured me that he was a pro, has decades of experience, and he encouraged me to come in and we would first consult on exactly what I was trying to accomplish in a hair cut. I arrived to the salon, it was dark, I actually thought It was closed and when I went inside, there was Allen, the only person inside the entire salon. (That was the first red flag I should have heeded). Allen was friendly and directed me to sit in his salon chair to consult about my hair style. I believe I was specific about what I was looking for and he seemed to listen and he assured me he would take only an inch or so off and give my hair a quality cut providing texture and some body. He washed my hair (with no cape on by the way and I had to hold the towel with my hand around my neck to avoid water splashes). Once in his chair with wet hair, he began to cut my hair one length around the entire perimeter of my head, basically, combing my hair straight down and would cut. Once I realized "oh crap, what the f_ _ _ k is he doing." I told him I was concerned about how he was cutting my hair. I sat there in complete horror, with wet hair, looking in the mirror and realized, I now looked like Lord Farquaad, from Shrek, yup, I kid you not. I asked him to stop and told him I had concerns. Allen then actually said, "this is all I can do." I said what do you mean this is all you can do? He told me he did not know how to cut any further than what he had just completed . I sat there in the chair, trying to understand him thinking what am I to do? He then told me,," I can cut your hair more, but I don't know if you will like it." That's exactly what you don't want to hear when you've got a wet head of hair in stylists chair. I told him, how am I to have confidence in you, if you don't even have confidence in yourself? He again told me, this is as far as what he knows how to do. I then told Allen , I felt mislead into believing he was a professional stylist when actually he's not. He then said there was no charge, so I actually left the salon with wet hair. This was the second WORST hair experience in my 59 years of life. Allen, you're a nice man, but you should NOT be cutting hair. A woman's hair is like a vital accessory and if you can't properly style someone's hair, save future customers from such a disappointing experience. My advice to you.... Your salon lights are already off, turn around, lock the door, and go home. YOU SHOULD NOT BE CUTTING HAIR!!!

I've been using Groupos for haircuts for years... waiting to find the one hairstylist... and I found it in Alan. His vibe and energy is exactly what I've been looking for. His place is so pretty, light and airy. He listened to my needs and met exactly what I wanted. Will DEFINITELY be back!!!

Let me just start by saying that given the current state of society the salon was immaculate. Masks were worn and chairs are clean! I definitely felt safe getting my hair done here. Back to the hair, I met Alan in late 2019 when he did the hair, and his associate did make up,for a friend of mines wedding party. (Their work lasted the whole day and night btw) Any who, I never get my hair done... like ever. I trim here and there but that's about it. So I messaged Alan and got an appointment for a much needed cut. When I arrived and sat in the chair I mentioned wanting something different since I never do anything. He recommended highlight and let me know that it wouldn't be bleach but another chemical. (I don't remember the name) He is very informative with the whole process which is comforting cause I literally know very little about hair. I did know going in I would have to cut a significant amount. Alan did make sure that I was okay with the length but assured me it would still be long. I also asked for long layers and they came out fantastic. The over all experience was 100% amazing. I don't think I will be going to anyone else and will be returning just for a wash and blow dry cause I never knew my hair could be so amazing. The photos themselves do very little justice for what it looks like in person btw but i have to show y'all.

Just got my haircut here and can't be happier.I hadn't had my hair cut in over 5 years and wanted to be sure it was done correct so I asked around and was recommended here. One phone call and I got an appointment that worked easily and perfectly with my schedule. I get here and it's immaculately clean and masks were worn and he's so friendly and careful about how I wanted it cut and how I style it. 20/10 would recommend and I can say I love it here and have no regrets shortening my hair, it's beautiful

I asked my daughter in law ( who always knew where the best place for anything was) if she knew of a beauty salon that does hair coloring with highlights. She suggested salon de Beautee In Monrovia. She has never been there but said that a friend of hers told her to try that salon since her friend loved the way her hair came out. I was hesitant at first since she herself has not experienced the service. I called today & was able to get an appointment for the afternoon. As I entered the salon I was met by the owner Allen, a very nice professional gentleman. The salon was nicely decorated very clean & soothing, relaxing music. He started to color my hair & after a couple of minutes shampooed & styled it. And Omg I've never ever loved the way my highlights were done. If I were there was more than 5 stars I would give him more. He would be my forever hairstylist!!!! read more

Loving My New Bangs I stopped by this salon in Monrovia for a quick bang trim to hide hair loss on my sides -- no appointment, just squeezed it in between errands -- and I'm so happy I did! The hairstylist was super polite, welcoming, and made me feel right at home the moment I walked in. Even though it was a simple cut, he took the time to listen to what I wanted and absolutely nailed it. Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference, and I left feeling so refreshed and confident. The salon itself is super clean, tidy, and has a chill, friendly vibe -- no stress, no pressure. Perfect for anyone with a busy schedule who still wants to feel taken care of. Alan is great, and knows his business well! I went in for a hair cut. I did not give him too much guidance, and he knew just what to do. The salon itself is lovely, right on Myrtle, so very convenient in Monrovia. I will return next time I need my hair cut! Also, very reasonably priced! read more

I was walking by this new salon and the owner was so friendly and kind. I asked about the salon offering hair blow out services and he said they would be doing all salon services and blow outs too with specials on Fridays. The cost of the blow out is a good deal here and so much cheaper than the dry bar in Pasadena or any other blow dry bar that I have gotten my hair done at. Ladies this salon is definitely going to be a gem you want to check out if you want fabulous hair :) read more

I was walking along Myrtle Ave in Monrovia and saw this cute Salon. I walked in and ask about Brazillian Blow Dry, I was impressed of how Alan accomodated me. He did my hair Brazillian blow dry in 1 hour and I was so happy with the result. He is very nice and has soft hands. He made sure that you are taken care of. 5 stars for him and I will be coming back for sure. My hair looks beautiful, soft and shiny. read more

I am the type of person to never get haircuts, much less any other hair maintenance treatments or hair styling. I probably get my split-ends cut about once a year (and I don't wait that long because they're healthy- I just don't like doing anything with my hair). My fiancé suggested getting a Brazilian blowout done, which is something I had definitely heard of before. As a person with curly, easily-tangled, dry, and brittle hair (again- not exaggerating, these are just the genes I got), I had wanted to get Brazilian blowout done before but the $300-400 price tags most salons would give me for my length of hair (a bit below shoulder-blades) would absolutely knock that desire off my list. Over the years I just lost motivation to care for my hair and mostly leave it down, frizzy, with no products to prevent more brittleness and hair loss. However, when my fiancé mentioned that the blowout price here starts at $99, I was certainly intrigued and decided to come. It helped me decide to go here rather than other salons in Monrovia/Arcadia. To give you a quick summary of my experience afterwards- coming here was quite literally one of the best experiences of my life. I will start with Allen's positivity, which clearly shined through when we first greeted him. He was extremely sweet and very nice about the comments he made for my hair, which did not give me the guilt/passive-aggressive vibes from other hair stylists! He then went over what the blowout procedure is, how it affects the cells of the hair, and what to expect after the treatment. We engaged in many thoughtful conversations with him- you can ask him literally about anything and he will have an answer or story. As a listener, I was in heaven learning about him and hair! He led the conversations very smoothly as well, which as a semi-introvert, I appreciated very much. The treatment started with a hair wash, then brushing our the tangles, and then applying the treatment. It is well-known that the treatment product is very strong, so you might get teary-eyed but just close your eyes to make it go and stay away. After that is a blow-dry, and then flat-ironing. On this particular day he offered us some cupcakes that a previous client had gifted him, which was so thoughtful! I could tell that he treats EVERYONE with respect, kindness, and thoughtfulness, which is why he has such an attractive aura! My hair after the treatment- wow. It felt soooooooooooooooooooooooooo good to run my fingers through it. No knots, no tangles, no depressing hair breaking off. It was smooth, silky, and amazing. Weeks after the treatment and my hair looks like it did on the first day. I still leave it down most of the time but now I use Olaplex shampoo/conditioners and masks to keep it happy and healthy. I now see my hair strands as cute little cells who do their best to make me happy! I also invested in some new tools to maintain my hair, like the Dyson hairdryer. Health is wealth! I will never forget my conversations with Allen. I have everything we spoke about in my journal, and even weeks after I always repeat the affirmations and lessons he taught! OMG! Best salon experience I have ever had. LITERALLY!!! This is going to be long but in a good way so bear with me! My hair has always been a battle. Very few stylists have been able to work with it. My own parents had no idea how to care for my hair! LOL. It's very thin, very fine, very curly and tangles very easily. I had been searching for a good stylist for years pre-Covid. I asked for a copper-red at many places I went. You wouldn't believe the results I had. Once was literally Ronald McDonald fire engine red. Once was purple/burgundy. Once was almost jet black I kid you not. I have been dying to find MY stylist for so long and I found him today!!! So I needed a much overdue hair makeover since I've been box dying my hair since Covid with no haircuts. It was a mess. Dry, over processed, frizzy, dead ends etc. I need a miracle and ALAN!!!!! He came through in the best way possible. I told him what I wanted and he not only did exactly what I asked for but the end result was even better than what I was hoping for! My hair feels like spun silk. The color and highlights are so multidimensional literally the best I've ever had. I knew he knew what he was doing when I saw how he was doing the highlights. Finally getting around to writing a review, which I don't often do unless the business is really great. For years, my wife and I went to Allen's beauty shop in Arcadia. He gives the best haircuts I have had in all my decades and my wife is very happy with his coloring, cutting, and styling. He left for a few years to care for his aging parents. But now he is back and is as good as ever. Like his Arcadia shop, his new shop in Monrovia is nicely situated, very clean, and tastefully decorated. Allen is a gentleman and really enjoyable company. What a wonderful experience!!! I went into the Salon De Beaute for a hair cut but experienced a relaxing environment with a nice cold glass of water (although other beverages were offered), enjoyed a delightful conversation, and was given a beautifully sculpted hair design. My usual hair cut/style is good, but I usually re-style. NOT with Alan as the stylist. It was beautiful. I had several errands to run after the appointment and several strangers told me what a wonderful hair cut I had. Of course, I told them Salon De Beaute, Monrovia. I live in Washington, but I have family here so I am thinking that I'll be able to schedule appointments each time I come to Monrovia. Allen is not only a talented hairdresser, but a very nice, kind person as well, who made me feel welcomed like a good old friend, and did his very best to make sure my hair look stunning when I left his salon. He did my hair cut and highlights, and both are probably the best I ever had. I have quite thin hair and I have no idea how he cut it so that it looks with so much volume now. Something that previous hairdressers promised, but failed to do. The highlights look thin (like I wanted), each piece is even and evenly distant from another, so perfectly blended with my natural hair and look very natural and classy. Also worth to mention, it was a leap of faith, because I came to him just a day before my wedding! But thankfully I made a right choice and Allen did a great job! When my hair will grow a bit longer, I will definitely come again to Allen for haircut and to refresh the highlights. read more

Even though Leo was fully booked for days, he offered to see me two and a half hours after his normal closing time. However, this whole appointment and the end result was too unpleasant for me to ignore. Tony was the one who did my perm and Tony was unprofessional. Please avoid having Tony do your hair. To start, Tony showed up to the appointment 15 minutes late (and his coworker was telling him his 11 o'clock was there) and then seemed very disinterested in trying to get the service started. Then, after briefly glancing at my reference photo and finding his own- Tony told me that my hair needed to go shorter and proceeded to give the most careless haircut ever. Total hack job. During the perm, Tony rolled each hair extremely tight that he even had to pause to massage his hands. The overly tight rolls bruised my scalp and Tony was so careless with placing the spacers between the rollers and scalp that I actually was tearing up because the pain was so unbearable. And even though I mentioned that it hurt Tony lowkey just ignored it?? To top it off- Tony ran out of rollers HALFWAY throughout the process so I had to wait with the crazy tight rollers for around 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). And Tony's not the one that informed me about it- Tony's nice coworkers were the ones that continued to check in and keep me updated. Also, the whole salon had 3 digital perms going on (including mine) and they kept grabbing the rollers coming off from another client and directly using it on my hair. I don't know if that's normal but I thought every tool was supposed to be disinfected prior to using it on another client. If the digital perm turned out the way I wanted- I would not be so upset but the curls were MUCH MUCH tighter than I asked for. But mostly the experience sucked. And it sucks because I had come here previously for a regular perm and had such a great experience that I trusted the salon for another appointment. I will not be visiting this salon again. (And clearly I am very upset towards TONY for screwing up my hair and being a total incompetent asshole throughout the whole appointment. Also, maybe you wouldn't lose YOUR VAPE IN THE FUCKING BIN OF DIGITAL HAIR ROLLERS if you weren't too busy vaping while doing your client's hair.)

Turns out, yes, their prices are shocking imo - for just a tiny trim of my hair and bangs (less than an inch off) it was $70!! And that's not including the tip! No shampooing or styling even! So that was quite jarring for me - but the prices seem to pretty standard in this part of Monrovia. Be prepared for sticker shock lol. But to their credit, the shop is in an excellent location, is clean, modern, and chic and the stylists do great work. There are some parking spaces directly out front but it's limited - but the surrounding area is walkable with tons of free public lots. If you do book with Let's Go - I highly recommend Judy!

We saw the place many times while shopping at dollar tree in the plaza and thought it might be fast and inexpensive. When we arrived, there was plenty of parking nearby. The place is next to many stores and the front of the stores are pretty transparent with glass windows for walls. There were three staff, all were available and when we walked in they asked if we had an appointment. As he was getting his haircut from one of them, two customers came in, one had a 4pm as well and the other was a walk in and they were both accommodated right away. One had really long hair, they even wash your hair. The other was short just like my bfs hair. My bf asked to cut the top a bit short and at times he would ask a few changes during and the stylist would accommodate . The haircut took roughly 10-15 minutes. Since I wasn't getting a haircut, if you don't want to wait, there are clothing stores, cafes, restaurants and a dollar tree you can go to explore. The haircut was good (in my opinion), it was roughly 25$ which is more than we thought. They had a sheet of prices he showed my bf and that's when we realized we should've asked for pricing before making an appointment rather than assuming. Overall, I thought the place was clean, fast, and accommodating during a Thursday evening (they probably weren't too busy on a weekday which makes sense making an appointment on weekends if they do get busy).

My feet have been through it the last couple of years (sports) and I wanted to get serious about caring for them properly, not just getting them painted. Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

He did an amazing job and my hair color looks fantastic. While coloring my hair Alan shared with me his incredible journey from Lebanon to California. I was biking around old town Monrovia some time in October last year when I came across this new salon. I had my brazilian blowout appointment booked to try it out because the last one I had in chinatown early last year was a waste of money. Almost 6 months later after I had my brazilian blowout done in this salon, I am raring to go back for my next session. Yes, it did last that long. Owner was super nice likewise when I first met him. I'm so glad I found this really nice beauty shop in downtown Monrovia. The owner, Alan, is really talented. I had been looking for a new hairdresser for just about the whole of 2018. I tried many others, but none was really as good as Alan. Plus, it is in such a great location. I like going there. And, Alan is one of those people that you enjoy talking to. Everyone seems to like him. I get cuts, color and highlights and style. He is just about the best I have finally found. read more

Alan, the owner did an amazing job on my hair! He knew exactly what I wanted & executed it perfectly! I walked in with sad damaged hair, but walked out with beautiful shiny bouncy layered hair!
