I went to this place after reviewing other yelp reviews. I was very upset, angered and distraught. And it wasn't for me it was for my two daughters who needed a trim but since it was a Sunday my wife's usual salon was closed so trying to be a good dad I went on yelp and found the best salon open on a Sunday with great reviews. Will let me tell you. First she didn't wash my daughters hair. The cut was choppy and uneven. The salon had bugs on the floor. I should have stopped with my first daughter but my second daughter wanted to get it done and same result came out. PLEASE DONT GET A HAIRCUT HERE. ITS NOT FOR THE YOUNG. This is a place more for senior citizens to get a cheap trim. VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. I AM WARNING YOU GUYS DONT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE TO GET A TRIM OR LAYERING. read more

Wasn't exactly what I wanted with his hair but I love it. She did a really good job in making my son feel special:). So I gave a five star because she really did a good job and made his hair look amazing, even though it wasn't what I wanted lol. I love how he felt and how careful and talkative she was to him & she killed it on the lines. It is a reasonable price and they give AMAZING haircuts for boys. Idk about women since I have not had my hair cut here but based on what I have seen I will definitely be going back . Thanks to them my sons picture day is going to be awesome . read more

If I could give zero, I would. I brought my 3-year old son for a haircut and I asked the lady first if she gives a haircut to small kids and she said yes. I told her I tried cutting my son's front hair, and he needed a retouch! At the start of the session, she did not even say anything to make my son comfortable, just signaled him to sit on the chair. While she's cutting my son's hair, my son would somehow move his head and look at me or the TV. The lady roughly hold my son's jaw and said "do not move your head like this!" as she move my son's head to the left and right. VERY ROUGH! She went on to say, "I have a one-year old grandson and when I tell him to not move, he does not move his head!". So I told her to be gentle and be careful with my son! And should not be comparing my son to her grandson! And she went to say, "well, I told him to not move and he is still moving his head! I don't like it when people give their kids a haircut, then when I cut it, it is not perfect!" VERY RUDE! She was cutting my son's hair, also answering her cellphone, and also glancing at the TV, watching a Korean novela. I had to tell her to turn her TV off so she's not distracted! I guess she was rushing because she wanted to close her shop early today (per the note on the front of the shop)! It was a mistake bringing my son here! If that attitude continues, this lady will be out of business soon! read more

I have been getting my hair cut from Gigi for the last 4 years. So has my husband and my daughter. She will wash your hair if you ask otherwise your getting a cut and quick style. I go just to trim it up a little. The price is very reasonable cheap and your in and out. With my crazy schedule that works I'm always happy with it. If I need color or something I have my other person to handle that. She has told me she doesn't really color to much. She always so friendly I feel like I'm visiting an old friend. read more

She doesn't wash your hair beforehand nor styles it after cutting. I've been getting my hair cut by Gigi for the longest time. I became a regular when she was working at Supercuts in Whittier. I've tried many others, but she cuts my hair just the way I like it. Even when I moved to Alhambra, I always made the trek back to Whittier on the weekends to get my hair cut each month. Gigi has great prices and is always friendly to her customers. The location is easily missed driving by, but it is well worth checking out. I will be getting my hair cut here as long as she stays in business. read more

This is now the best haircut place in Whittier. Gigi just took over the business for 6 months. I discovered her 5 years ago stumble upon SuperCuts when visiting my in-laws in Whittier. We went down south quite often to visit my in-laws and I always take the opportunity get my hair cuts while I was there. She has been my stylist for 5 years at Supercut and now at HairCut Place in Whittier. Very talented. I have my haircuts, and highlights by her. Her price is inexpensive. But, don't let her price fools you. She is the best. There is another hair salon in the same shopping center. Make sure it is the one right next to the Dry Cleaning. You can get a great hair cut for $15 here. REALLY! Only $15!! I get just as many compliments on her cuts as I do a $40 hair cut from some up town place. So, now, it is where I go. I give her a big tip because she is worth it and $15 is just too cheap! A small place, easy to miss and she is the only beautician there. She has a great sense of humor and is very personable. I found this place extremely disappointing especially after all the positive reviews. I normally don't write reviews but I am so unhappy with my cut that I don't advise anyone going here. I went in looking for a 3 inch trim and the lady nearly cut 5-6 inches off. I also asked for light layers and she ended up cutting the front sides of my hair nearly 6 inches shorter than the rest of my hair. It was only $18 and $20 after I tipped her, but you truly get what you pay for. She seemed rushed and was not gentle at all. She scratched my neck multiple times while drying my hair and poked my eye as well. The layers she cut came out looking extremely unflattering and choppy. I genuinely feel frustrated every time I look or touch my hair now. I think I'm going to have to go get another haircut to match the awkward short hair near my face. I originally went in to trim my long hair so it's upsetting that I'll ultimately have to cut 4-5 extra inches due to a poor job. Do not waste your money here if your looking for a decent haircut. read more

She is highly skilled at her profession and she has such a warm and friendly attitude towards her customers. She charges lower than the surrounding beauty salons in the area but her services are always top-notch.
