I admit that I was extremely anxious, but definitely couldn't wait until Wednesday, so I blew my hair straight and chanced it. Lorna did an excellent job! The quality of my visit with Marta was sub-par and I left the salon feeling ripped off and truly pissed off. I was charged over $50 for a trim AND she added almond butter conditioner to my total without my permission. There was very few hair clippings under the chair I exited which I pointed out to her. Not to bad. The stylist did a very good job with my hair texture . She was a bit nervous since she doesn't regularly do African American textures. I told her what products to use and assisted with detangling hair . She tried her best to blow out my hair . I went home and flat ironed it and it looked pretty good :) Will Come back for shampoo and conditioner only I'll blow dry my hair and flat iron it at home my self. Would Recommend that all stylists at this location get additional training on African American hair or curly / Cooley hair textures ! I arrived 30 minutes before they closed. My haircut takes only about 10 minutea. They had a sign that they closed at 8pm. I asked if they were open and they said no. There were multiple employees there and nobody was going to give me a haircut, even though they were still open. Terrible service and locked the doors so they could relax. read more

I came today around 12:30 and there was a bit of a wait. I came as I needed a haircut. I had a coupon for $3 off a shampoo, haircut, and blow dry ($25). When I was finally called, Miyeon was my hair-stylist. She began by asking me what my daily hair routine is in terms of styling so that she could recommend a cut. I told her I straighten my hair daily but other than that I don't do much so I wanted something low maintenance. She suggested a straight cut in the back and minimal layers in the front. I had previously colored my hair blonde last spring and it was looking a bit dull and brassy so she suggested a toner and deep conditioning. It worked wonders. My hair looked healthy and vibrant after. She also recommended a multi-benefit leave in treatment (Redken 25 Benefits). She suggested I come back in two months for a touch up. I was very pleased with her performance and how my hair turned out. When I go back I will ask for her. She is friendly and skilled. Regarding the hair salon, I thought it was a bit dirty. I saw some hair on the mat at the door entrance. It could probably be swept more regularly. I liked that they provide ample magazines for patrons to read while waiting. I did use the restroom while I was there and it was adequately clean. read more

I am not a big fan of going to hair salons. For the most part, I feel like they are overpriced and they try to sell you a bunch of products that you can get cheaper elsewhere. That being said, I have always gone to the Hair Cuttery location that is closest to me for basic hair cuts. The prices are fair and you can usually do a simple google/yelp review search to see which stylist are not going to butcher your hair. On this occasion I booked online with Marta, as I saw she had decent reviews and I didn't want to have to go through calling the salon. That was a mistake. When I got there, Marta was not even at work yet. I waited for about 10 minutes and then just bit the bullet and asked for the next available stylist. I do not recommend doing this at Hair Cuttery, but I was just feeling lucky. And this time I was lucky. I got Lakrisha to do my cut. She was very friendly, but most of all she cut my hair and did not mess it up. Hallelujah! Now if you want Unicorn Hair or to look like Ariana Grande, please do not go into a salon as a walk-in and expect magic. Not gonna happen! You need to build up a rapport with a stylist before making such a drastic change to your hair. Horrible experience. My girlfriend went for a simple trim but was left with what she describes as "a mullet." She booked an appointment online, only to get there and have the stylist tell her the cut would be double the charge because of her experience. Nowhere was that advertised, but she figured she'd treat herself to the nice haircut. But the stylist almost immediately began cutting off more hair than she wanted. When my girlfriend told the stylist during the cut that it wasn't what she asked for, the stylist clearly stopped caring and almost intentionally seemed to make it worse as she realized she wasn't getting a tip. My girlfriend was too upset and traumatized to even try to ask for the cut to be corrected in some way. It's one thing to give customers a haircut they're not happy with. It's another to treat them poorly while you're doing it. read more

Dont go to MARTHA!!! She did the worst haircut in my whole life. I dont know how she got a license, but she is definitely lazy and not a good listener. The whole time she turns the chair and wont let you to see yourself in the mirror, probably because she knows she is really bad and at the end you cannot do anything with that mess. There used to be some good barbers there, like Haney or Katie, but unfortunately they quit (at least from this location). If I could do 0 star, I would do that. I wanted to get my hair trimmed before I went to the beach next week. I called and asked if there was a wait and one of the stylists said - come in 10-15 min and there will be no wait. So, I did. When I arrived, all 3 stylists had clients in their chairs - no biggie, I figured I would just wait for someone to become available. However, at no time during the 20 min I waited there did anyone make eye contact with me, speak to me, take my name, ask how they could help, provide an accurate wait time or anything else. It was as if I was invisible. Two of the stylists even came up to the cash register and checked out their clients, then turned around and walked to the back of the store, not once addressing that I was sitting there waiting.
