From the reviews, I expected a mediocre haircut for a moderate price, and that was just what I got. The barber didn't speak English very well, so I'm not sure if he didn't understand what I wanted or just didn't care. The center of my head is shaved, so I wanted that done again, as it's been a while. I wanted the hair around that trimmed down, as it had grown up and spiky, and I wanted a light trim around the back and sides. What I got was as close to a crew cut as I've ever had, with the top of my head minimally gone over with a trimmer (I'll shave it properly myself, I guess). If you just need a quick haircut, these folks will do. If you want it cut a particular way, avoid them. read more

One of the best haircuts I have ever had. After being stuck without a way to get a haircut for 7 weeks this place was a god sent. I live in Northern VA but was up there for a work meeting and made an appointment the day before. The shop is super clean and very safe (social distancing, masks, sanitizer). Read the reviews, decided to try it. Asked the barber for 2 simple requests. Scissors only, no clippers. And I did not want my hair parted. First thing he does is part my hair on the side. Second thing he does- he breaks out the clippers. He already started so I could not stop him. Left with a lousy haircut. I do not know where all these positive reviews came from. Mei is an EXCELLENT barber and does the best fade anyone can ever ask for. Worst haircut I've had in a while. I'm not sure who these other reviewers are, but the woman who cut my hair seemed to only understand one style: how to look outdated for old people. For some reason, they kept rotating my chair away from the mirror and towards the other customers, which did not help me get the cut I want. Awkward environment. Poor stylist. I got a pretty good haircut here. The haircut is GREAT when you consider they only charge 16 dollars (14 if you pay cash). I wasn't very satisfied with the first haircut I got here but the barber corrected it free of charge and didn't make me wait. All the staff are very polite. Awful. Really don't know how this place is rated so high. If you're 60 years old and don't care about how you look any more, then go here. But if you're a young professional looking for a decent haircut, look elsewhere. The haircut was nothing special, she rushed through my it, took a phone call in the middle of it, had to remind her twice to take some off of the top, and I walked out of the Barber shop with the hot towel on the back of my neck because she forgot to take it off. I was really nervous because it is a "barber shop" not a salon, but after regularly seeing my boyfriend, who gets his cut once a week, with great hair I had to try her. Mei did a fantastic job! I'm new in town and was looking for a decent place for a haircut. I had previously tried another barber shop in the King's Contrivance area and was somewhat disappointed. After reading plenty of reviews and driving around looking at the options from outside, I decided on Pro Clips Barber Shop on Snowden RIver Parkway. As other reviewers have noted, this is a good place. Clean, brightly lit and welcoming. The reviewer noting "best military regulation haircuts" was what brought me in as I'm very, very picky about how my hair looks and have been disappointed in the past (more than once). There were 3 barbers in the shop on a Saturday afternoon. Only 1 was busy (I presume it was Mei as she was the only female haircutter in the room). I was quickly greeted and offered a chair (no popcorn offered, but it was available). After discussing how I wanted my hair cut and a repeat back from the barber to confirm he understood what I wanted, I was turned to face the flat screen TV at the front of the shop. Don't remember what was on, but I also had the large windows to look out. No complaints as my barber dispatched my hair using reasonably quiet clippers with various length guide combs. Finished length was what I wanted. Good transition between the top (longest) to the sides (shorter) to around the ears and back of neck (shortest). No lines or uneven cuts. Even my sideburns were level. The only complaint is that the warm razor shave of sideburns and neckline was not very warm. I would have liked warm shaving cream. However, the warm towel cleanup was very nice. The finishing touch was a short shoulder massage. Price was very reasonable. I'll be back. read more
