Please do not go here. We tried it for the first time for my husband and 3 boys and the experience…read morewas awful. I never leave reviews but left so disappointed I had to. Not welcoming or inviting at all. No smiles, no hellos, seemed like a major put out that we would show up and ask for haircuts. 1 Stylist (Hair Dr) did not listen to what either of my boys wanted and they both left disappointed with their haircuts. She spent less than 10 minutes on them, and 1 of them has great hair and has NEVER had a bad hair cut in 11 years until today. Other stylist (Hair Ninja) seemed to care a little bit more about the cut but was not pleasant or friendly at all. Thankfully we had a coupon, I would be extremely upset if I had to pay full price for the experience.

I am so happy we took a chance at Sport Clips! What a great experience. We've tried several…read morebarbers around Oakleaf and have had just an okay experience at each. Nobody ever could nail the style he was looking for. I'm not sure about the other stylists at Sport Clips, but Rockin Rhi is officially our person! They do not take appts, it's walk in only. Check their website and it'll tell you how busy they are and who is available that day. My son chose Rockin Rhi because she sounded cool. Apparently this worked because not only was she cool, but she knows how to cut and style hair. My son enjoyed the whole experience. They made him feel special and important. He got a warm towel on his face while sitting in a massage chair and getting his hair washed! He literally said, "I'm living the dream." Rhi double checked to make sure she was cutting his hair the way he wanted it. And to top it off, he got a lollipop in the end. Of course this was the clincher for my 8 yr old. For $18: a hair wash, massage chair, warm towel to the face, cut, style with product, and a lollipop...you can not beat it! Rockin Rhi is our stylist hero and our go to person from now on.

It seemed like all the barbers did a good job. The place looked nice inside with TVs to watch football. I thought the pricing was fair, I think with the tip it came out to around $40 for a haircut and face shaving. Will definitely be going back!

Tl;dr: Pay for 1 Thing, Get Another…read more Heather was nice, but she ignored the picture my son brought in of the cut he wanted and proceeded to give him a generic little boy's side-part cut, complete with cowlick (she told us "that will go down later"). She knew it wasn't good, too, because she told us how "if we needed to come back" "to fix it" if there was "anything we didn't like", that it wouldn't be a problem. To be honest, if we go through the trouble of looking for haircut pictures, printing one we like out at home, bringing it in just for you to put it down and say that you "have a good memory", and then give us something completely different, our confidence with you is pretty shot. I wouldn't want the same person to "fix" it if you couldn't be trusted to give it to us the first time. We didn't complain or ask about it, but she voluntarily told us it looks different "because he has different hair than you". Uh, yeah, because he has a different haircut completely... It doesn't seem like a hard or complicated style. And if she wasn't technically able to achieve the look, we should have been consulted about that before she started cutting. I could tell it wasn't the same cut as the picture when she finished, and asked my son if he liked it. I was ready to advocate for him. He told me he liked it, but as soon as we left he was honest with me about it -- how it's weird and messed up and totally different from what he showed her. We're not very confrontational, we try to just deal with things, and he's just a kid. He didn't feel comfortable complaining, which I understand. I know a lot of people are more assertive than us and wouldn't have even paid for this, and they'd be right. I honestly wish that a person didn't *have* to be assertive, though, to get what you ask and pay for -- that's what we go to the professionals for in the first place. We trust you and we don't want the stress of telling you how to do your job. We just want to put it in your hands and feel safe doing so. If I wanted something done differently, I could have cut it myself for free and without having to correct someone. My son commented to me that he wished we had just done that in the first place... I'm usually the hair trimmer/cutter at home. The day after his cut, I decided to send the shop a message through their internet contact form on their website telling them what happened and asking if something could be done. They never responded. My son is such a good kid, he keeps telling me it's okay and he'll get used to it. But I hate that it makes him distrust barbers. He now believes they will just do whatever *they* want, and not what *you* want, and that it isn't worth it. (There were other little details that weren't so great, that I'm only mentioning since I'm here. I wouldn't have left a review for these things alone. Things like... we asked about the possibility of highlighting as in the picture; she said she technically could but doesn't like to, that we could call and get another appointment for that. Well, okay. No biggie. Or how she left him with hair all over his face... other places I've been to take the time to clean you up a little. I had to tell him to run in the bathroom and wipe up so we could take him to get some food-- he looked a mess. Or when I asked how we could maintain it and she asked what we meant. Like she was confused. She had used some styling products on him and I was interested in how we needed to keep up the style ourselves on the daily. Finally she understood and told me about some powder she used and another product as well. We come to you for guidance, skill, and expertise. Recreating something at home is standard info we need. I'm surprised that she was surprised I asked. On the plus side, she wasn't trying to upsell on hair products. The downside is she wasn't trying to teach us anything. She also mentioned that she was the best stylist in the shop.) A little back story: my son came in with long hair, so he was a blank slate to work with. He and his brother were in this same place a few years ago and we had a really good experience here. The price was great, too. And we loved the atmosphere. My boys looked very dapper and the stylists seemed to know what they were doing. It was all very easy. I thought we'd found our new favorite barbers. My husband who also has long hair was even thinking about going. (We have 3 girls in the household as well, and if you ever cut girls' hair, we would have considered you as well.) So when my youngest son told me he was ready for a new style and he spent time picking out just the right one (see picture of Brad Pitt), we booked him the day before Easter (so I could have some nice fresh pics of him on the holiday; womp womp). Now because he's older, his cut cost about as much as both my boys did years ago. So basically I paid the same this time to make one boy unhappy as I did several years ago to make both my boys happy. Needless to say, we won't be back.
