Don't go to this shop to get your hair cut. It was a very bad experience. I have short straight hair and I don't need to blow-dry straight it after a haircut. I just need to dry it. But this time, I went to this shop and asked an Asian hairdresser named Hong to cut my hair. I asked her to dry my hair after cut my hair I left. She said she couldn't dry it and would charge me extra! And other customers were waiting! I said, what did you say? I didn't blow-dry straight my hair, I just need simple dry my hair to leave donot want leave with very wet hair to go home then get headache !Later, she still let me leave with very wet hair! The funny thing is that she did have time to dry my hair but have time sell products when I was checking out?! ? So unethical and unprofessional! I had very long hair. The first cut just took about an inch more than I wanted. When I called I specified I didn't want any more length taken off. Just to add more layers to distribute the weight since it was cut shorter than I asked. Instead of layers, without being asked if I wanted thinning sheers used or warned they were going to be used on me, I was sheered. Even worse the entire top part of my head all around was cut to chin length or shorter in spots where it's uneven and the pieces are shorter than the pieces in front of it. I came in to trim my ends. Now half my hair is gone. This isn't a small mistake or accident. This was a choice without asking or telling me to cut the whole top part of my hair extremely short drastically different from what I asked for or looked like before. I don't know if it's retaliation, ignorance in cutting ethnic hair, or something worse. But this salon destroyed my confidence. It's cut too short to even hide it by pulling it back, and it will take me at least half a year to restore some semblance of normalcy or even be able to balance out what was done to me. Why a redo, when a customer complains it was cut too short, would cut at least 5 or more inches all around the crown of someone's hair without consent or warning or even discussing what they had in mind I don't know. I've never had a worse experience. I wanted my ends cut. Instead they took half of my hair. read more

I came in just wanting a fix to the last hair cut and ended up with a cute cut, highlights, and style. They did a great job! I wish I could remember the woman's name, she was attentive and talkative, and helped pick the highlight color to cover my incoming grays. She gave me clear instructions on how to keep it looking fresh and set me up with an appointment in a few months. Everyone knows the real reason we love Hair Cuttery; no appointment necessary. I can't schedule hair cuts months in advance, heck I can barely schedule dental cleanings! And so the fact that I get to call a place and get same-day full highlights done? That's pretty special. I spent a few hours here getting a full highlight, toner, and trim. All in all it pretty much flew by! I feel like the salon was pretty understaffed at the time of my experience, I felt badly for them. The store looked to be in need of a little love. But again, with staffing I can't say I am surprised. I would really like to see the owners/corporate send some deep cleaning teams in once and a while for these folks. Word of advice--stylists shouldn't trash-talk the homeless with their clients. instantly a bad look for those who don't believe in speaking ill of the less fortunate. I was asked about my hair, and before I could answer, the stylist commented how dry it looked, then asked me who previously did my hair. Since I haven't had the money until now for some serious work, I was the last to do my hair. The stylist literally gagged and said I would need $30 in services before any color. I completely understand, and am glad she wouldn't work on dry hair, but she lost $150 in services for being rude. This location could use some serious sensitivity training, and a reminder that customers DO care about customer service in addition to the quality of the service. And to allow such rude conversations about entire populations of people is appalling. I did not get my hair done at this location, and I don't plan to come back. read more

The place is clean and pleasant and the staff seems upbeat and friendly with each other. I called ahead about 25 minutes early and made an appointment and I got seated about two minutes after I walked in. They were busy at 2:30pm which suggests it's pretty popular. So I was going to update my review and add stars because of that and she offered me a free cut for my next visit. Just got that cut today and it is fine. But there was no note for my free haircut. 5 stars because of Pearl. It's amazing how medication can make your hair fall out and keep it dry. She gave me a protein treatment to help with the breakage and dryness. I do use very good shampoo, conditioners and masks but slip on the protein treatments. I haven't done one in over a year. Pearl is very knowledgeable about hair and not just one type of hair. She handled my hair with care. No excessive scratching during a wash, she was gentle while putting in my rollers and adding the appropriate amount of product. I didn't have anything sprayed in my face *ladies you know what I mean*. This shop is COLD. I didnt think I would shiver while waiting under the dryer.
