I have been a hair hub client for, gosh, has it been 10 years? Well, it's been awhile, that's for sure. Jaime, God bless her, has been with me since my awkward early-teen years when I was convinced nothing could be done to save my head from being the end of all cruel adolescent jokes. Yeah, it was bad people, I mean really bad. Jaime used to cut hair in Glen Rock at what was then called Cosmopolitan Salon, but when she left to take up residence at Hair Hub I followed like the sheep to the shepherd. The salon is on the first floor of a residence that I believe is inhabited by family of the salon owner because on any given day some of the cutest little rugrats come down to run around the salon. I would say that the actual haircut is my absolute favorite part of my experience there, but that wouldn't be entirely accurate. I love people watching and here on any afternoon you will see the little old ladies that come to have their weekly hairstyle changed up, they are so sweet and love to chat. The staff is also very friendly, singing along to the music, sharing products, and on more than one occasion have seen them offer to drive a client home when the weather was too bad for them to walk. I don't know who in terms of stylists offer what services because I usually just go for a cut and shape up, but can attest that my never-exceeding-$50 haircut with tip is a huge reason for my still driving all the way home from Philadelphia for their services. read more

Typically I go to my stylist in Hasbrouck Heights because well, she is amazing. Anyhow she was booked up quickly after salons opened and I could not really wait. I needed a trim before a weekend away. I decided I would give Hair Hub a try. They said they could squeeze me in for a cut but no blow dry, which would have been fine. When I arrived for my appointment the lot was full and one parking spot was taken up by patio chairs and a table. I found parking elsewhere. I called to let them know I had arrived, as was instructed. I waited for almost 10 mins before anyone came to greet me as I waited outside w my 4.5 yr old daughter. Until then they just stared awkwardly or pretended not to see me. When someone did come to the door they asked what I wanted and asked what my daughter was doing there. I explained I was getting a quick trim but no blowdry/style but my child did not need a service and was sitting w me. "She can't come in!"- was the woman's response. I was puzzled and asked what she meant. The woman told me "cant (I ) bring her somewhere/anywhere". Idk where she expected me to just drop off my child. I pointed out we both had our masks on. This did not matter. I was confused and the woman continued "I cant have her in here". I explained that I always brought my daughter like so many mothers. I had to ask about 5 times before she said "because of CoVid"....and the # of people allowed. I looked inside once again and the place was NOT full and everyone was spaced apart. I wanted to point that out but was already felt very hurt and discriminated against. Maybe I should have dressed up for them.....but that never mattered at any of the salons Ive ever been to which were muchmore upscale. I instead told the woman I would wait for one more person to leave and then come in w my daughter(even though no one had exited and they ssud on the phobe they would let me in). The woman shut me down again. I explained I did not understand why a child could not be let in. The woman asked if I had mentioned Id be bringing a child and I replied no, that if they had regulations on it they should have informed like they did on their other rules. She simply gave a cold "yeah I am sorry" and shut the door. Since June 22, I have been to eyebrow threading salon, the nail salon, and everywhere else w my daughter and have not had ANY issues. My daughter was devastated and hurt by this experience. When I called other salons to see their availability & inquired if my daughter would be allowed they were so puzzled and shocked by my asking such a question. When I shared my story they were apalled. Thankfully my desire to get a quick simple trim was accomodated later that day at Klip Joint, who has a lovely location on Warburton. The service was warm, friendly and professional. My hair looked great too.Thank God for business/customer service done right. read more

I bought a Groupon for partial highlights at a place called "Josephine Hair Stylist." The Groupon instructions said I could book on the website, which I did. On the website, I chose "any available stylist." I was placed at a Pompton Lakes location. A few hours later, an unknown person texted me to say the Groupon was not valid at the Pompton Lakes location and only valid for one specific person named Josephine. I was in the middle of looking carefully at the Groupon again, when "Josephine" actually called me. I explained politely that although the location is listed as Hawthorne, the Groupon doesn't actually say it is only for one person at that one location. She said in a snarky, irritated voice, "Yes, it does. I MADE the Groupon, so I KNOW." She talked to me like I was an idiot. Then she told me to cancel the Groupon and come to the Pompton Lakes place so she could honor the price. I couldn't cancel the Groupon, but did get a credit, which I promptly put toward another salon that didn't make me feel like an idiot on the phone. read more

Jenny is amazing! I live in Philadelphia but my mom and grandmother have gone to Jenny for years and absolutely love her (color, cut, styling, you name it...) so when I was trying to find someone to do my hair for my wedding, we instantly thought of her! I can be indecisive and actually had two different hair trials because I changed my mind at the last minute, but she was so patient and sweet with me! I really wanted to do an updo but never really wear my hair like that, so Jenny helped me find a style that looked fabulous and still allowed me to feel like myself and be comfortable. I got so many compliments and people still comment on how great it looked when they see pictures. She puts so much time and effort into everything she does and is truly an artist. read more

LOVE it here. The stylists are so nice and helpful. Kim has done my cut and color the past two times and has done a phenomenal job. Went from blonde to brunette and had some complications due to my hair not taking the dye therefore having to use a toner three times. She worked with me for three hours to get the color we wanted, way past closing time and was awesome the entire process. I got referred by a friend, and am very pleased with the service here. Affordable, as well. read more
