Though I did like my haircut, it wasn't good enough to go back. The interior is beautiful and I was greeted kindly and offered tea. I did drink some of the tea once it finally cooled but the rest of the experience was not so relaxing and I ended up leaving with half my cup still full. Because we had to diffuse my hair, I ended up spending a lot of time uncomfortably draping my body low on the chair, as told to do by my stylist. I wish they had a recliner or a better way to diffuse my hair - it was incredibly uncomfortable. For such a high end salon, I feel like there needs to be a better way! Vibe seems very cold and I did not feel good upon leaving. I was sold up on some curl shampoo, conditioner, and post shower leave in - and felt I couldn't refuse. I started to take a photo of the label so I could buy it separately later, and the stylist said "Well where else are you going to buy it? No one else carries it". I bought them since she had talked them up the whole appointment and the pressure was high. Turns out they haven't worked very well for me, despite being told I needed to use something better to get rid of all the "buildup" I had on my hair from my other shampoo/conditioner. I followed every instruction given by my stylist but using LESS product actually has been the best thing I could do. She gave me a hug when I was leaving - trying to mend the blow of a $250+ purchase I guess. I also was pushed to make a maintenance appointment for 3 months later, which would be about now. I declined. I wanted to see how my hair grew in - since I don't get my hair cut very often. Unfortunately I don't feel comfortable coming back, it was much too expensive for the experience I had. She took the time to really study my hair and asked a lot of questions, which gave me confidence that she was going to do a great job. She took the time to make sure that I would be happy. The owner at the other salon fixed it, but the result lasted for about 2-3 weeks... and I was left with bright blonde highlights again. A few friend recommended Haru to me. I was given an appointment with Hadley. Immediately, I LOVED her! Hadley is friendly, warm, and completely understanding about hair. As someone who is self-admittedly fussy, Hadley listened to me and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. Since then, I've been to Hadley MANY times and she's brought me from balayage to my natural brunette, cuts from shoulder length to halfway down my back, and dealt with my particularness about my bangs. Hadley is super talented and has a wonderful, bubbly personality. I love talking to everyone at the front desk as well, and really enjoy my time there! Additionally, I brought my boyfriend to Haru for a men's cut. He was styled by Sylvie, and she was also WONDERFUL! Best haircut he's ever had :) Next up I want to try the facials!

I was told that because my cut and color was scheduled in the incorrect order I would not be able to see my stylist for both services for my appointment 2 days later. When I expressed disappointment in this as I booked it weeks ago and timed it for an event, Mimi proceeded to tell me that 1. I assumed risk booking online and 2. I booked my appointment too late and I probably have roots that require more time anyways and 3. That I could simply get a cut with someone else but I refused (not even true)-essentially gaslighting me as if this was my fault and not theirs. When I clarified that I would get a cut with someone else and she said that was fine I said that it seems like there's no issue anymore, but then she proceeds to add that perhaps with my negative attitude I shouldn't come at all...like what? My husband who was in the room was appalled at how a MANAGER was speaking to me, let alone after the issue was resolved. The results are not worth the abuse this place shells out if you request any accomodations.

Staff is knowledgeable and always recommend tips for upkeep and care in between visits. It's always an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Sometimes you take for granted how much value there is in a reliable hair salon. This is why I felt compelled to write this review. I have so much gratitude towards Amy and Salon Nouveau for my wedding day preparations. Amy totally achieved and maintained the perfect blonde as well as styled my hair on my wedding day. She exceeded my wedding style expectations! I can't even believe my hair was capable of looking so beautiful. The loose updo lasted over 12 hours of wedding day festivities. Now I'm the kind of person who goes into a salon and puts my entire trust in the expert. With very little direction, I allow them to do their magic, figuring out what length and look would suit my face, as well as the current trends. This is where Vanzandt excels. I always book my appointment with him and he does a fantastic job of hooking me up with the perfect do. I've done both cut and color with him, and he's clearly an expert in his trade. He's not afraid to go outside of the box with my styles which is what I love most about him! The salon itself has a great vibe. It has an upscale feel without being too pompous. Everyone there is super friendly and you immediately feel comfortable when you're there.
