I am nearing 60 and my hair was so thin, looked so bad, that I had decided to wear wigs the rest of my life. I bought a couple of wigs that looked ok, and I first went to Lisa about 6 months ago to have her style my wigs, something that she is noted for. Instead, she gave me my hair back. My hair was so thin, that I couldn't get a hairdresser to agree to give me a perm for fear of losing my hair altogether. But Lisa gave me a perm and color on the same day. She was so confident that it would be fine, that I didn't worry. Boy, was she right. My hair looks amazing. I have not gotten compliments on my hair in years, until I went to Lisa. Had a really great time with Lisa and she is so easy to talk with. She is well researched and seems to always put the client first. I really enjoyed learning about her new lines she is introducing and explaination of the keratin treatment I recieved in which I must say she is one of the most economical in the area! Always a plus for the stylist girl on a budget. On top of that she has some great referral incentives. I had a great time with her and I intend to see her in the future. i so wanted this to be my place; my new stylist. I think it's harder to find a great stylist (okay good would be nice) than to find a good doctor. I only wanted a trim since it was the first visit and I'm recovering from a really bad cut (taken 8 months to get it to a place where anyone else could cut). In her defense, i did not provide pictures and let her do her work. I got home and it was the strangest cut I've had and I'm in my 50's and lived in many different states. the sides were cut nicely but she did not do anything to the back which is what bugged me the most. so i called and went back and got a different cut. i took my picture this time and the cut in no way resembles the cut and the back is still not done well - the one 'length' is not cut to work into the hair it's a straight cut, like you got with a bowl. and the sides were cut again and too short and nothing like i wanted. the kicker; i had to pay full price for the fix to the back. I hesitated going back since that rarely works, but i did and now I'm stuck with this mess in the back and these short sides and completely perplexed on what to do. all the other customers i saw were older and had very short hair cuts and both styles had their hair pulled up in tight buns, so perhaps longer or shoulder length hair is not their specialty. read more

At first I had a positive experience, then this place made my life a nightmare. I spent a ton of money on hair extensions and coloring to have a good amount of my hair fall out. They never refunded me one dollar and I had to cut off all of my hair and start all over. 10 months later and my hair is still thin and barely growing in the places I lost it. I would avoid this place like the plague. NEVER go here for hair extensions...you will spend thousands and your hair will be ruined if your experience is anything like mine. I have had Lisa as my hair "artist" for many years. Despite the fact I moved out of state, I still see Lisa for my hair care as often as possible when I am in the area visiting. This speaks volumes to just how good she is I think. She is the owner and also has clients of her own. She is amazing with hair color, especially. I have received so many compliments over the years about my hair styles and color. I always say to her I am like a walking billboard for her to market the salon! The salon is nicely appointed and always busy with nails and hair care clients. Many of the salon stylists and nail techs have been there for years so they have a very steady and loyal following which, I believe speaks to the quality and care the clients receive here. Hairloom's is a wonderful salon. All the stylists are nice and the atmosphere is relaxed. It's a great place to indulge yourself in a bit of "me time". But most importantly the stylists are knowledgeable and professional. I've been seeing Lisa for more years than I can count. I have moved a couple of times over the years and looked for a salon closer to my home that could fill my needs. But I have always gone back to Lisa. She knows hair and she definitely knows my hair. Hair Looms is top-notch in every area. The atmosphere is inviting, well-kept, and up-to-date. Lisa, the shop owner, cuts my hair, which is wavy and hard to manage at times.
