Ever seen the show Tabitha's Salon Takeover? Well she wouldn't even take this place because it is beyond help. Everything is run down, rusty, dirty, and just downright gross. The stylist would brush someone's hair then hand the brush over and brush mine. I had to comb my own hair after it was washed. There was cut hair EVERYWHERE! The bathroom was dirty. The color room was dirty. The wash station was appalling. Let's talk about the actual services. I wanted chocolate brown hair. I had brown hair with blond low lights. She started putting on the color and it looked really red, I asked why it was so red and she said it was just the color of the mix. I doubted it but allowed her to continue. I was staring in the mirror thinking this can't be good and said so to her. Of course once it was washed out I looked like an italian grandma with flaming red hair. I freaked so she said she would tone it down. After having another batch of chemicals dumped on my head and my scalp burning I sat back in the chair and had reddish muddy brown hair. She then cut it which was fine and took 45 minutes to blow it out. FORTY FIVE MINUTES. I was then charged 90 dollars. NINETY DOLLARS for her FING up my hair. I was going to throw a fit but my friend said it was her "friend" so i sucked it up and paid. I could go back i am sure and have it redone but I WOULD NEVER trust this woman with my hair EVER again. BEWARE!

Because of how fine/straight my hair is, I like a particular style and way of cutting hair that is not "how" it is taught in hair dressing school. Laura has heard this from me and provided a cut that leads from the crown of my part when it is on the side. This coupled with a blunt cut that also is somewhat asymmetrical and yet does not allow the hair in front of my ears to extend any longer when tucked behind my ears. She is also capable of long layers for straight hair to create an effortless flip-up. For my daughter, whose hair is dark blonde, she has provided truly "sun-kissed" highlights that not only looked extremely natural yet also grew out exactly as if the highlights were provided by the sun and were growing out over the winter season. I of course went back to Dawna who squeezed me in on a Saturday afternoon as her last client... I point this out, as the salon closes at 4:00, and she was still taking care of me after the doors were locked. Besides 'squeezing me in' on a busy Saturday, I think she actually added me after her last client was already booked. Props for the amazing customer service! Being in the hospitality biz, I tend to notice these things... I went for an overall color (no highlights) of Jet Black. She did an awesome job. The color was perfect, warm, shiny... and I've seen so many attempts on jet Black and it ends up looking grey and ashy, or even purple-ish... Yeah, no thanks! She also gave me some kick-ass swoopy bangs *that's what I call 'em* and hooked me up with a much needed product to control my frizzie pieces. Like my day couldn't get any better, leaving the ATM after my appointment a very cute boi took the time to stop and tell me how he loved the *color* of my hair, he thought it was gorgeous... Somehow she manages to get it to look tame and great each time I get my cut. She's also a whiz with the color. I sometimes go for the full foil highlight and she puts in two tones which makes my hair look fantastic. Rachel is ridiculously talented and a doll to talk with. She can make you smile AND give you a great cut at the same time. Multi talented that girl.
