I called up today and discussed what I was trying to accomplish with my natural hair. I spoke with Veronica the shop owner. I told her I was natural and normally wear my hair straight, but am interested in styles with less heat and lower manipulation. I've tried flat twist but didn't have a good experience recently. I also told her that I would like to try comb coils as I like a bigger and fuller style. She thoroughly explained what to expect and addressed all my concerns of nappy and thin looking flat hair. She gave me a proper cost quote and offered me a time slot the same day. The cost was comparable to what most salons charge for natural services these days. The shop is nice and well maintained. The conversation with her and Yannick was also really nice. At the end of the day a picture is worth more than words so look for yourself. I like it for the most part just a little different than my norm. I'm most interested to see if I can keep this looking nice the next day and the next day. I'm looking for styles natural techniques and styles that allow me to be heat free for some periods of time. I think I bump with heat throughout the week more often than I should. I plan to go again and tweak these coils and try other natural styles to help find my natural happy medium to help decrease heat and promote growth. read more

I made a 10:30am appointment. The stylist did not start on me until 11:45am she swore she did not know I was there for her... :-/ so, she tell me to sit in her chair and it had hair ALL OVER IT from the previous woman that was in the chair... So, when I was wiping off the chair they started looking at me like I was being disrespectful.... So, I told her I wanted my hair cut in layers.... Bad mistake! I had a mani pedi with Yanick last night, and it was a great experience. She is very welcoming and even educated me about my nails and how to take the best care of them, since I rarely get mani's or pedi's. I would give her 5 stars!! However, I am ranking it overall only 3 stars because I used a Groupon for this service and it was difficult to schedule an appointment. I tried for a couple of weeks calling and using the online tool to no avail. Once I got a hold of Yanick though everything was fine, and she offers late evening appointments which is perfect for my schedule. Overall, Yanick was fantastic but I think if they do the Groupon deals again they should consider limiting the amount they issue or hire more people so scheduling isn't an issue. read more

I had a Gelish mani and pedi with Yanick using a Amazon Local deal. Probably one of the best mani/pedis I've had. Yanick is so down to earth and easy to talk to. She made me sure I was completely comfortable and did a great job on my nails. It was nice that she was the only nail person there because I didn't feel like I was someone to get done and over with as fast as possible. I visit this salon for a wash and curl for Mother's Day weekend. But I ended up getting a relaxer & a cut -which I was told that I needed a relxer by the stylist And I truly did, I knew it was time but I tried to hold out a little longer. I am so happy that I did. My husband loved my hair. When we went out to dinner for Mother's Day I received so many compliments that I lost count. Thanks. I highly recommend and I will go back again. I was a first time customer. If this helps anyone there was plenty of parking, a couple of eating places next door. The salon was clean and I felt safe in the area. Traffic was a little heavy because it is near a base which is expected depending on the time you go. I had my hair cut by LaTonya Thomas at Hair on Me. MY biggest complaint on the entire service was the haircut. My hair was not cut at the length that I asked for. I even asked before she actually made the first cut if it would be long enough to look like the picture I brought, which I then showed. She assured me that it would "fall down" to the length that I desired. She was in a rush to get me out of the salon, and I waited 1 hour and 30 minutes to get my haircut done. It seemed as if she over booked that day. At the end, she seemed to like her own hair work on my hair and took a picture of it. I asked a last time about the length on the hair cut, and she actually started to cut more off. It was terribly uneven, with long and short spots in my hair. It did not look any better after she cut the last time. By the end of the session my hair started to turn up at the tips and frizz, therefore I believed the poor appearance was due to the frizz. I later washed and styled it to check, but it hadn't achieved neither the look or length I asked for and I did not get the quality I expect for $95 worth of service. read more

I got a groupon deal for a mani/pedi at "HAIR ON YOU" over a month ago and called the salon to make an appointment. I was told that there are no availabilities for awhile because there are only two specialists working there because it is a hair salon not a mani/pedi spa. I called back in three weeks to make an appointment for a later September date that is close to my sister's weeding so I can have my mani/pedi done for the occasion. The administrator who answered the phone offered a few available options and made an appointment for me on a Saturday 9/22 at 9 am. Two days prior to my appointment I got a voice mail from an unknown private number stating that this is Nina, the specialist who is supposed to do my nails. She said that she already promised someone to perform a mani/pedi on that time and wants to give me a heads up not to come in because it will be a waste of gas since I will be asked to turn around. I called that number back to clear this information. The lady, Nina, said that she is booked for a long time and it will be a problem to get an appointment before my sister's wedding which is on 9.28.12 (keep in mind that I started calling in August). I expressed my disappointment with the service that I didn't even get to experience yet and Nina suggested the only times she had available which was Tuesday 9/25 at 3:30 pm. It was not convenient for me (because I work in Baltimore City near Pikesville but live in Linthicum which is close to Severn where salon is supposed to be according to Groupon's add) but I said I will leave work early to get my nails done because the wedding is 3 days away. On Tuesday I left work early as planned but got stuck in bad traffic on 695. I called the salon to notify Nina that I will be a few minutes late. The operator said that she doesn't see my name in the system and it seems like I don't have an appointment today. I asked to speak with Nina directly and was informed that she was out getting some food. After being on hold for awhile, the operator said that she called Nina and Nina confirmed my appointment but she is out to get something to eat and will be right back. I continued to drive to the salon. At 3:50 pm I called the salon again to see if Nina was back from her late lunch because I am finally getting off the highway and passing Linthicum so I should be very close to the spa. The operator said she will let Nina know. At 4:00 pm as I am driving on Telegraph road, Nina called from her cell phone asking how far away I was. I said that I am passing Linthicum area so I should be there in the next 10 minutes. She said "OK" and hung up. Within the next 5 minutes I received another call from the salon. It was another lady, named Veronica. She informed me that Nina's "next" customer is about to come in the door and I will have to reschedule my appointment. I was very surprised to hear that because I just spoke with Nina less than 5 minutes ago. I also recall that I was told that a mani/pedi procedure takes two hours so if my appointment was at 3:30 pm I was expected to be there till 5:30pm. I told Veronica that I am pulling up right now and ready to park my car so I am coming in and even if I am late I should still be able to do manicure or pedicure (one instead of both since there was more than an hour left for my reserved time). Veronica raised her voice and with a very strong intonation proceeded: "Ma'am you are VERY late and you have two options: reschedule or get a refund for your groupon. Nina is going to take another customer and there is no need for you to come in right now". Shocked and speechless I didn't know what to say.... I have NEVER been so mistreated by any business before. I told Veronica that she was very rude and shouldn't treat her customers this way but Veronica talked over me and didn't pause for even a second. She continued to tell me the same phrase over and over in a very disrespectful tone: "You can either reschedule or get a refund." Well after being so treated so poorly, there is no way in the world I will step my foot in the door of the "HAIR ON YOU "salon. Rudeness and carelessness will not get a business too far!!! read more
