My hair is also very thick and long (about halfway down my back), so as you can imagine, I am very careful about who I go to for blowouts. I recently moved near Main St right before quarantine and after clipping my ends on my own, decided I needed to find a salon to go to when they opened back up LOL I found the studio via Google and Yelp and decided to take a leap of faith. My experience at the salon was amazing! Chantell was very professional and made me feel safe with her COVID precautions. She started on my hair right away and was kind and very gentle with my THICK hair. I've NEVER had such a pain-free experience in a salon EVER. She washed my hair with steam and carefully detangled my hair while conditioning and throughout the straightening process. I was very comfortable the entire experience and trusted her recommendations. The time flew by and even though she was able to fit in another customer while working with me, I never felt like I was pushed to the side like other stylists tend to do because of how much hair I have. I purchased a serum from her to help keep my strands in check, which worked perfectly and allowed me to wear my pressed style confidently for over 2wks and when I finally did wash it, my curls were the softest they have been after a blowout. I was truly impressed. Most stylists have suggested that I get my hair straightened and ends clipped more, but I have not trusted them enough to actually do so. However, after this wonderful experience, I will be seeing Chantell throughout the year for silk presses and steam treatments in between.

I scheduled a 2:00pm appointment two days in advance. I arrived only for them to be back-up with customers and 4 people ahead of me. After 3 hours of waiting, I finally got in the chair. The hairstylist took another 3 hours just to put the hair color in my hair. My flexi rod curls were completed by the hair stylist's assistant (who by the way did a wonderful job). Sadly we did not leave the salon until a few minutes after 10:00pm. I was in this salon from 2:00pm to 10:15pm. My entire day was spent in this salon. My plans to have dinner and catch a movie with friends were cancelled. I will never recommend this salon to any of my friends or associates and I will never step foot in this salon ever, again.

Further Update: While the Owner Belinda has now posted a professional and polite response to my review, she sent private messages that were verbally abusive and unprofessional to the point that I was forced to block and report her to Yelp. Further Update: After being blocked from harassing and abusing me on Yelp, the Owner has begun a Social Media campaign of lies against me and had her relatives begin harassing me on Instagram. At no point in time did anybody contact me to let me know that they were no longer accepting appointments or that they had moved. Hopefully I will be able to get my deposit back. Very disappointed as this was the first time in over a year I was able to block out the time to take care of my hair. So I figured I'd just cut it short now, make the sacrifice, so I can enjoy long hair later. But I am SO happy I came here! My hair is a little above my shoulders now and it looks better than it did when it was long! Miss Carol was super knowledgeable, and really put me at ease by explaining everything she was doing as she was doing it. She was able to tell how my hair comes in kind of wavy/curly by looking at the roots (since it was straighter due to being weighed down before) and adjusted the cut accordingly. When I asked for bangs, even without knowing exactly how I wanted them to look, she gave me some that suit my face shape really well. Another cool thing about this place is they're familiar with military hair regulations. Definitely recommend it for any military peeps in the area, men or women. One last bonus: she took the time to braid my hair before cutting it, and managed to save a lot for donating!
