I have only had good experiences. Violet has cut my family's hair for at least 8 years - maybe longer. :) Violet has cut, styled and colored my hair - I always feel better after my is cut... Bloody scalp. There's only 3 people there and they are all older. I wanted highlights in a golden brown/blonde color. The lady (Pam) did my hair and she was arguing about it with another lady about what to do so we knew something was off. After Pam put all of the foil in my hair I didn't see my hair cause there was no mirror until the very end. She had to wash it for an hour and a half and I didn't know why it took so long to wash it. It burned a lot and she was not gentle at all, I'm not even tender headed and it still hurt so much the lady had nails on and kept scratching my head. Finally at the end I got to see my hair and it was awful she gave me a side part to cover up the burns but I changed it to a middle part and part of my head was bleeding cause of the burns. My scalp hurts now a lot. And the color was bright yellow NOT at all the color in my inspo pics. All of the other people getting their hair cut were seniors. I got a haircut at this place before by one of the different ladies (Violet) and it was a good haircut so I thought I could trust this place. 8/10 haircut. 0/10 highlights. Don't recommend. I am very familiar with this salon, because my husband came here for many years. I took my son in for a cut, trying to find a less expensive alternative to his favorite salon (18/8). They have always done a great job, I just forgot about them because we no longer live nearby. The trip was worth our while- he got a really nice cut as a walk in with no waiting, and the price was great ($18). Lee and Violet were as friendly as they always have been. I'll be bringing my son back here for sure. read more

I have been coming here for 10 years. These hair stylists are really great and give you the haircut you want. The price is reasonable and the service is good. Don't waste your money on outrageous high priced hair solons. Kim, Pam, Violet and the rest of the women here are great. read more

When I went into this place my hair was long and gorgeous I just wanted a little bit what I actually got by Lee was a Butch job my bangs are no 4 inch long.. my hair is so short and butchered I can't even do anything with it so I went back and spoke with the owner violet and she didn't do much better my hair is choppy and there's nothing I can do about it do not go to this place they are awful read more

I came in and didn't have to wait at all. Only one other male getting his hair cut. She asked if I was getting a shampoo? I said no. I have VERY thick hair so she wet it in a washing bowl and put conditioner in it to 'detangle' then washed it all out. She used a narrow tooth comb to comb my hair from the top...... and kept brushing down until it went through. Rather than starting at the bottom and combing your way up to avoid damage. Didn't really take her time to give me a good cut (took less than 5 minutes). She was pulling so hard on the comb that my neck was being pulled, not very professional. She was in a rush and I feel like I need another cut after the way she combed my hair! I honestly do not recommend this place. read more

The Best Barber Ever, after 10 years as a customer I can honestly say that I have never had a better stylist, or a better haircut.. Kim is the best stylist in the place, but the others are all good. They remember your name & your haircut (Unlike the faceless chains) They also pay the stylists well enough & treat them well enough that they are not always quitting & being replaced with kids who dont know hat they are doing like in the chains. Why pay a premium at North Park for a high end haircut, when they can do the same styles & quality here for less. read more

I have been going there for over 20 years, and will never go anywhere else. Kim is the best at cutting hair and if she is off, ask for Violet! You won't be disappointed. Never again will I ever go to this place. I should have known it was going to be bad when I saw a sign that said, looking for a stylist with a clientelle and then walked in to see like 5 stylist sitting around looking bored. Obviously they don't get many customers. I had a swing bob, all I wanted was trim. They have a sign that says 12 bucks for a haircut. Like I said, all I wanted was a trim. I was specific about what I wanted, all she kept saying was, yes yes. Again, I should have known, but I didn't want to be rude. At the end, the haircut was bad, but fixable (by a good stylist somwhere else). But what really got me was that they charged me 28 bucks. When I asked her why she said it was because she styled it. Apperantly her idea of styling is blow drying it dry and a few passes with a straightner. by the way it was frizzy, because she didn't use even one hair product, and for that she charged me 16 dollars extra. Then when I asked her why she didn't tell me before, she said, I thought u knew. Right, cause Im a mind reader. I had never been there!! And by the way, I didn't ask her to "style" my hair. She cut it and just started blow drying, I'm in beauty school, I was tought that when u cut a persons hair u style it so u can then tweak it. All in all, just an awful experience. I suggest u look for a better place to cut your hair. read more
