I find it difficult to truly love my haircuts because of how specific I am. I get Japanese straightening to tame the frizz and add shine to my dry hair, with that I am used to sacrificing volume and having flat lifeless looking bangs. I've also had bad experiences with people thinning out my Hair too much cuz it is very thick. Got my haircut and straightened by Kaz and it is beyond perfect. My hair is shiny, voluminous but light and my bangs are airy and full. He did a meticulous job at giving me the one length shoulder bob I described. I've been coming to Hair Studio Taka since 2016 and I must say that I am impressed by their customer service, experience, and knowledge about hair... every time I come here! I've booked with Tom every time to get highlights and and a haircut -- and because I'm so indecisive, I usually let him make decisions on what looks best on me (with minimal direction from me). He knows how to work with color VERY well! Ippei helps Tom with the hair color process and also washes my hair - such a nice spa-like experience and his scalp massages are awesome! Overall, besides the ON-POINT hair coloring/cutting, the professionalism and customer service of everyone who works here makes the experience a great one! It has taken me a LONG time to find a salon that I can finally become a loyalist to... so thankful it's so nearby! FYI... there is parking right behind the building but if it's all filled, there are plenty of streets nearby that you can park on. Also -- be prepared to wait 2-3 weeks for an appointment (especially for lengthier processes) unless you're lucky enough to score a cancelled appt :) read more

Taka is amazing. I have a hard to handle hair type, combination of straight and curly, that gets frizzy and hard to handle. For years I had been getting magic straight but it would always be super damaged and never last. So I never went to the same hair salon more than once. Then I went to Taka and he recommended a keratin treatment. It was the EXACT results I always wanted, super straight and even made my hair healthier. I've been going to Hair Studio Taka ever since it first opened and I can honestly say that they are amazing. My entire family goes there and we have even brought our close friends. Not a single person that has gone here has had anything bad to say about it. In fact, everyone has actually become regular customers. I recently got my hair dyed here and although (because of time constraints) we were not able to get it as light as I had wanted, we ended with a beautiful new look that I have already gotten loads of compliments on. (It's only been one day!) My appointment was scheduled to be only 3 hours but Taka even stayed an extra 2 to get it to be as close to what I wanted as possible. The service here is amazing and all of the stylists are extremely nice and charismatic. I would definitely recommend calling a couple months in advance to get an appointment but it's only because it's always full and that should be a good way to tell that they actually are really amazing. read more

This studio is absolutely amazing. The service is incredible, stylists are friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to, and the whole experience just left me feeling wonderful. This was my first time here, and I came for a balayage with Kaz. I just have to say that he did an incredible job--I am super happy with the results. I showed him a picture of what I wanted, and he gave me exactly that, down to a T. Ippei was the other stylists that worked with Kaz and he was great as well. Extremely easy to talk to and extremely skilled as well. I will definitely be coming back in the future for other services; they've found a returning customer in me! Came here based off of my sisters recommendation. Another salon completely butchered my hair coloring, so came to Tom to get it fixed and cut. So hard for me to find a salon who does my hair right, but boy am I impressed! Tom and his helper Ippei did a phenomenal job. Love my new cut as well as my new color! The people here are all so professional and really know what they're doing. On top of that, they don't rush you at all just to be able to squeeze in another appointment. Very impressed by Ipei's job today. It's my first visit to the salon and Ipei did a through exam on my hair and a talk with me before he started the job. He is very gentle and patient. My hair is very long and tangled yet I didn't feel any pulling or stretching of the hair while he worked on it. He gives the clients 100% attention and only works on one client at a time. I think I finally found a good hair salon around my area! My mom's friend highly recommended this place. After my mom got her hair cut, she has been loving it; they really take the time to listen what you exactly want, and takes times to cut every bit of hair. The salon is very cute. The hair dressers do not speak fluent english but they are very friendly, welcoming, calming and professional. They go above and beyond to make sure I feel comfortable there. I really feel like I'm being treated well. I have been to many Korean hair salon and they talk too much and try to sell me different products. I don't usually like to be bother when I get my hair done because I just want to relax. I fell asleep while they were cutting my hair and the dresser would make sure I was comfortable and was cutting the hair whichever my head was moving. He made sure I like my cut and asked me what more can be done better. The price is little bit expensive compare to other salons but it is worth the level of work they perform. Plus, the style lasts long so I don't have to go to the salon often. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get some good hair cut. read more

I had my Japanese thermal reconditioning done today with Kaz. I got there early and they were so polite and offered me something to drink. Kaz walked through what he was going to do and asked me what i was looking for in terms of hair cut. He offered to do a protective treatment and told me how much more it would be (no surprises). I agreed. The process as anyone who get its done knows, takes a long time. But i didn't mind. He was meticulous. I loved the hair cut. He listened to me about wanting to keep length and add layers.
