I had a style consult and cut with Lundon and I cannot say enough good things. I LOVE my hair. Lundon was so kind and funny and absolutely amazing with my needs (chemo patient, cancer hair, etc.). My mother and I will NOT be returning to this salon for any reason. Not even to purchase a comb! The hair dresser in question her name is Jeanette. My mother had first gone to this particular chopper and wasn't as happy with the first cut but the woman did a decent color. So my mother against her better judgment returned to her for another color and cut. This time she left my mothers hair so traumatized it's been a battle to even allow a cute hairstyle to ease my mothers emotional pain. Mutilated is an understatement. This "stylist" knows one type of hair cut it seems since another woman we know who went to her said she got poodle ears as a hair cut. Absolutely disgusting example of customer service and sympathy. I emailed the salon owner on the 3rd since they responded they responded to my google review first and it's now the 19th and no response. So I take it they don't care that customers are horrified by the hack job they received. Disappointing. Hair cuts and colors are expensive and something that a woman does to feel good about themselves but I guess Stacy Monroe salon doesn't care about that. read more

Day 1: yesterday , just walked in to the salon , greeted by Liz. Got a business cart to make an appointment. Day 2: today , got an appointment in the morning for the same day service time. Welcomed by Liz , she was punctual , kind, professional, and easy going. Recommended few advice, then started her job. Finished my highlights less than three hours. No hidden fees at all. My daughter went to this salon to get her hair washed, dried, and styled. She couldn't do it herself because of a thumb sprain. She booked an appointment with Jeanette in person so she saw that my daughter had curly hair. My daughter went ahead and booked the appt knowing the service was going to cost $60. When she got her service done, she was charged $150 because according to Jeanette, she didn't have keratin treatment done which would have made her job easier (paraphrasing here). The "style" is laughable, it was poorly done straightening. I have done a better job at home with our tools and non-professional designation. If she would have been honest and said upfront what it would cost, it would've been a non-issue because we knew going in. However, the non-disclosure and up charge just because it's not a hair texture you're used to, is what causes a business to suffer. Would I recommend this place? No. Would I try it for myself? No. My daughter has been here before with a different stylist, has she learned her lesson? Yes! No more SM visits. read more

I recently visited Stacy Monroe's Salon to get a much needed haircut. I last got a haircut in April of this year while in Japan and I was impressed by the service I received there. I was searching for a place to go to but I was honestly having commitment issues haha. I appreciated that the salon was so clean and minimal, it felt so relaxing. I decided to book with Jessie. She was very super sweet and friendly. She actively listened to what I wanted done, which is just a refresh of my layers, and I appreciated the feedback that she gave me during the consultation. I like that it was a conversation and she made sure that she understood how I normally part my hair and how much effort I put into styling it. I got a haircut and blowout from Lundon and it was absolutely perfect. The inside of the salon is so nice and clean, I felt relaxed and blissful (especially at the shampoo bowl, the best part of a haircut/blowout!). I truly felt taken care of, i could spend hours in there. I felt so beautiful with my hair done by her, and the blowout lasted a while! I had the best experience at this salon!! After going through their yelp reviews compared to others in the area, I realized this is where I wanted to get my hair cut professionally. I requested a 2 inch hair chop with wispy bangs and I was so pleasantly taken care of. I made an appointment online and was added onto Marcela's clients, and I am so happy I got matched with her! She was very sweet, made me feel so pretty the whole time, took great care of me, and most importantly did such a great job. I would recommend Marcela as a hairstylist for anyone! She was the best and I can't wait to go back to her again. As for the vibe of the establishment, it was very clean inside and you can tell is a well cared for salon. Everyone seemed very nice and can tell we're professional. The parking outside was a little rough because of the boba shop next door but I was able to find a spot. If you can't find a spot, you can park in the back or across the street at Safeway! Ultimately this was the cutest salon and was worth the price because they do take care of you. read more

Jessie did an excellent job! I hadn't had a hair cut in over a year as my normal hairdresser had moved to the East coast. I wanted bangs and I'm always skeptical to try a new person but she killed it! Alls I told her was I wanted layers and bangs. Wanted to keep my length and didn't want to bangs too thick or too wispy. She was extremely attentive to detail, cut my bangs perfect and did an amazing job. Wash, cut and blow dry for only $75! Most places charge $150 and up for that! Will definitely be coming back! Venue: When you first walk into the salon, it has a very light, clean and modern look, with comfortable seating and soft lighting. All the stations are very tidy and there is a beautiful wood table in the middle of the salon. You are greeted by your stylist and offered refreshment. The stylists are very friendly, lovely, and professional. The equipment they use is modern and the hair wash stations have lower-placed bowls, which is amazing, since most salon wash stations are situated higher and as I am very short, I often end up straining my neck. The wash stations at this salon were very comfortable and I may have fallen asleep during my hair wash! The salon has been around for 30+ years and I can understand why it so successful! I will definitely visit again! The prices are very good for the work that these stylists do. STYLIST: Lundon F (partial highlights, toner, and cut) My appointment with Lundon started at our scheduled time. She was professional and very friendly and accommodating, offering me water or tea before our appointment. Her station is very nice and neat. Our appointment started with a very clear consultation about my hair (partial highlights, toner, and cut) asking about how I normally wear it, the gradient of highlight I was comfortable with, the type of cut, if I wore my hair up to showcase the highlights underneath and answered any other questions I had. I also appreciated her inquiries about if how comfortable I was with how she was brushing my hair or if I was sensitive on my scalp, etc. The process was comfortable, and she is a very nice with a great sense of humor. The appointment was completed within a couple hours and my hair looks and feels amazing! The highlights blended perfectly into my hair color and it looks pretty and natural. The cut is flowy and pretty. As this was my first experience at this salon, I am sure to come back. The prices are reasonable, and the service was stellar! Recently started seeeing Lorena and have been very happy with her (have had 4 cuts so far). What I'm trying to do with my hair is kinda challenging - I basically want a cut that works well with straight hair, but my hair is curly. She is very patient with my multiple attempts to explain what I'm going for, and I appreciate that she makes suggestions based on what I ask for - she obviously wants me to be happy with the result, and she takes the time to get it right. She's unusual amongst hair stylists in that she is also a skilled barber. The cut I get requires both barber skills and scissor skills, so I feel lucky to have found someone with both! read more

I went in to get my hair done by my stylist that I had been a loyal customer too for 8+ years. I went to get my hair done like usual. Showed her the inspo picture talked about additional requests I wanted. The look I was going for was Light brown sugar blonde brunette, highlights -lowlights and money pieces. This was not our usual interaction. something had changed and something was off but I brushed it off thinking it was just me. I was in the stylist chair for multiple hours . I was left to sit in the wash bowl for 2 hours. I even took a nap. This was all so my stylist would attend another client. Then when we got to the part where the stylist - styled my hair . She asked me " what do I think about it? " . My honest response "would you like me to tell you the truth or should I lie ?" She said "tell me the truth !". I proceeded with the truth. I let her know " honestly , I don't like it. It's not what I wanted or what I thought we had talked about!" I could feel the air getting tense and her facial expressions were not happy. So I proceeded to say " I mean it's not bad but I don't like it , it just not what I wanted- went into further explain the parts that I did not like. And pointing them out and trying to be understanding about it all. I then asked her "do you know what I'm saying" her response to me was " I TUNED YOU OUT A LONG TIME AGO" mind you I was baffled by the response but I could tell that it bothered her that I didn't like the work that was done to my hair. It wasn't what I instructed, it wasn't anything like my inspo pics, it wasn't what I messaged her from the very beginning prior to my appointment. So at this point I am still trying to be understanding just because I could see that she was very much bothered and did not want to deal with me any longer. I mentioned things like coming into getting it fixed and she was just not mentioning or saying anything of the sort. She basically all-in-all did not want to do anything. To the very end, went to go pay. We checked out everything went through. This is where the really disturbing and unprofessionalism really takes off. If I thought "I tuned you out"was baffling, I was at a complete shock what happens next. 3 days later she messages regarding the charge being disputed. Now this was a big misunderstanding /mistake at the beginning. I let her know " hey if you dispute it they can still pay out the amount if not then I could come give you cash. My thought process at this moment- I know her, she knows I couldn't do this to her, I've never done this in all of my 8+years, I know I can still get my hair fixed if we get to communication." All things of a person still with benefit of doubt. Little did I know she completely went unprofessional, callling my partner and myself all types of names, defaming our characters, talking about my children -my children lives and bringing up personal life subjects. Threats with being around the corner from my home to pull up to "see what's up" if you know what she means, then you know it was more threatening. Trying to assault me at my home. At this point, I knew I wasn't going back to her and it would be the very last time she ever had me as a client. I most definitely did not want her to fix my hair after the very unprofessional treatment I had just experienced. Who know if she would chemically burn my hair, melt my hair, chop off my hair. I was told that the salon and salon owner are aware of my situation and what I was told was "I'm a joke" in her words. At this point I wouldn't go back to the salon in general, this was ghetto, out of line, pathetic, unprofessional, just negligent of the service that was provided. Horrible service ! I have gone to get consultation to see if I could fix my hair. I was told to wait because the blondes of my hair were brittle and weak. read more

Loved loved loved my hairstylist Nikki. She was so patient specially after I was late. I was working and completely forgot about the appointment, luckily I live 10 mins away and we had enough time for cut and dry. She started off asking what I wanted and really walking me through the process. I have been growing out my hair for 6 years and I was really afraid of cutting too much and losing my length that took me so long. She started by shampooing my hair which was probably my favorite part. After that my cut was quick she did exactly what I asked for. It was not too short and with the beautiful layers my hair somehow looked longer. I loved how she framed my face. This is a late review from January but as I'm about to book again, I'm still bothered by this. My review is for the owner as my hair stylist Lorena was actually great. I booked last year with Lorena thru the Monroe's website because of her availability. I can't book far in advance due to my schedule so I take whomever is available. Lorena did great on my balayage. I booked in January for my birthday to get a Brazilian blowout and toner. Again, I took the person who had time for both. I got a call the day before saying she didn't have product to do my Brazilian blowout and that I should get a hold of Lorena since I last saw her. She didn't even offer to at least keep my toner appt. I had no idea how to "get a hold of Lorena" so I looked her up on insta. I booked directly with her for a toner because again, she didn't have time for both or else I would've booked with her to begin with. It was my birthday and I get my toner. All good there. As Lorena was washing my hair the owner had no idea I was the one in the seat. she started telling her she canceled me because she only had enough product for 2 blowouts and couldn't get more. I'm sorry, so you did have enough product you just CHOSE not to use it on me! I would've let it go but it was my birthday I booked ahead expecting a service. The fact you expected me to contact "my stylist" myself, talked about me as she was washing my hair, didn't use the product you in fact did have on me and canceled last minute, doesn't show great service as an owner. People asked where I got my hair done And I don't feel comfortable recommending. I live in the area but wouldn't mind driving for a salon that is better focus on customer service and clients needs Lorena as an individual I give her a 5 star. read more

I've been to this salon quite a few times because I know of other people who've gotten their hair colored here. My last visit will definitely be my last. I worked with someone new, Zenia. Not only was she late, she was rude throughout our whole appointment. I almost left but I needed my hair done and I already drove all the way to the salon. She made me feel bad about how my hair looked, and made me feel bad about the color I wanted. She talked with other stylists to discuss how bad my hair was right in front of me. Seriously? If you wanna talk bad about your clients, and least do it in the back and not right in front of me :/ I cried while at the salon because of how horrible they made me feel. She almost talked me into getting a different color just so it would be easier on her end. Honestly can't believe I went through that. So horrible. read more

Marcela did an amazing job keeping my length while adding long layers and face framing pieces. Not only was she friendly and nice, but she was also very professional and detailed in her work.
