I went here two Fridays ago and got my hair cut by Tabitha. She was nice but she did a horrible job! I asked for layers with no length taken off. When I was leaving, I kept feeling my hair smack me in the back. I got home and my hair was looking like one of those bad layer cuts where your hair is overall different lengths and looks "ledgy" like a kid took scissors and just cut. I am not posting a picture of my hair because it's embarrassing. I will say the manager was very nice and gave me my money back and apologized. My daughter was heading out for a special valentines date when she got the idea to get an updo, literally with 1 hour and a half until she was being picked up. I decided to indulge her since she doesn't ask for this kind of thing, like ever. So I called around and go No, No, No, No and No. I decided to call this Hairmasters on a last ditch hope.....and Taylor answered the phone with nothing but sure, yes, absolutely. What a positive young lady and a great asset to Hairmasters! We got there and she immediately started helping my daughter figure out what she wanted. She was friendly and acted professional yet warm. She worked quickly and efficiently and my daughter got the updo she was hoping for (maybe even more). It was done so well, she was able to wear it the next day with a little touch up. I would recommend Taylor for reasonable up dos. She knows here stuff. Only 35 and done in a time crunch with no reservation. Seriously awesome. I go to this HairMasters to get my hair done by Chelsea K. in Tumwater. She's awesome! I'm a guy that doesn't always know what looks best for my hair type and have an even harder time imaging hairstyles it in my mind's eye, but Chelsea has always made that part easy for me. I have thick curly hair on the sides and thin hair to slightly balding on top. Chelsea has helped me find a hairstyle that I can feel confident styling and go about my day without ever having to wear a hat, as I normally would because of my thinning hair. I have changed the way I've done my hair several times to try out new looks over the past 1.5 years I've been getting my hair cut by Chelsea and her suggestions and insight have always come through for me. My wife has also been impressed when I came home with a new haircut. As I began to care more about my look, I started getting my almost-unibrow waxed by Chelsea as well. She makes my thick eyebrows handsomely shaped and she makes it less painful than I would have expected. If you have an interview or generally have an interest in maintaining a good look, I highly recommend Chelsea K. I couldn't be more satisfied with a hair stylist. This review is mostly for Annette, as she's the only one I've directly worked with, but WOW. I drive all the way from Kirkland just to have Annette do my hair. Not only are the prices way more reasonable than Seattle, but Annette does a FANTASTIC job. I have seen her for the past year for full and partial blonde foils, and usually a trim, and she is extremely consistent. My hair always looks so pretty after I see her! read more

Morgan is awesome! Not only did she give me a great cut, she also listened to my request, took her time AND explained how she styled it so I could get the same result myself at home. I couldn't be happier! I was nervous because my dry ends needed some serious attention and I was worried the stylist would be insistent about what had to be cut off. Morgan was so nice and asked me three times before finally making the snip to ensure I'd be ok with the length she was cutting. Overall ok. Haircuts can be good or bad depending on who you get. Prices are a little high especially if you have to pay extra for someone with more experience or for the blow dry style. It's what you would expect for the price. read more

I made appointments for my daughters recently and my son came along asking if he could get his hair cut too. They said they were completely booked until 630pm that night and couldn't cut his hair. As I was waiting for my daughters to finish up, they accepted 3 walk-in appointments right in front of me, after telling me they had no time to cut my son's already short hair. VERY disappointing customer service. I took him across the street to Great Clips and they got him in immediately. I will not be returning to Hair Masters. read more

When we walked in they acted like they were annoyed that we were even there. Should have taken that as a red flag and left . We got terrible haircuts for 2 teens and mom. Horribly uneven fade. Wouldn't thin hair when requested. Crooked a-line. Stylists didn't listen and lacked basic stylist skills and knowledge. Had to go somewhere else to get cuts fixed. read more

Let start by saying that I dread getting my haircut. I came here one random afternoon with a coupon in hand (because I'm cheap) and was lucky that I didn't have to wait. The chick that did my hair was super nice and did a great job on my hair, She even gave me free samples and told me to come back in within a few days if I wasn't happy with the length or cut and she would fix it. I love this place. I've only had to wait more than 10 minutes once in the years I've been coming here, and I always get a good cut/style. I try to see the same stylist (Julie) but others do well for me when I decide at the last second that it HAS to be cut. The staff is friendly, and it's clean. read more

I can't stand it when u explain to someone and show them pictures of what you want and then ask them if they can achieve that specific look and they say yes, when in fact they should have the respect for the customer and say no, I don't think I can and either pass it along to another coworker who can. I went in to get a touch up on roots and a hair cut......Stylist could not even figure out what color to put on without having someone else help her....I have been a hair stylist and it does not take two people 5 min. of figuring out what color to use...especially since I already told them the color to use.....I told the stylist what I needed and after the cut, which I specifically told her to get rid of the heavy bulge in the back of my hair....very easy to do if you know anything about geometry, ...yes you need to know geometry in order to know how the cut will lay after cutting....I actually took the comb and showed her the part she did not properly cut...she argued with me....I ripped off the cape threw it on the floor and went to pay at the front desk....they tacked on a conditioning treatment on top of the services......the only conditioner they used was one they use on everyone.....A conditioning treatment for colored hair is a separate service and it entails a conditioner for deep conditioning....this is done by using a separate, highly conditioning and repair for treating hair damage....this entails using that treatment saturating hair, combing through to ends, covering the entire hair with plastic cover and putting under a hair dryer or heat lamp for 20-30 min. It was also freezing in the salon...Other customers complained also..which slows down any bleach for highlighting and does not keep the hair cuticle open so color will not wash out...... read more

I went to this place in 2013 - 2014. Had best haircut with JOY. I really like and highly recommended her skill to my friends. Sadly, she wasn't there anymore, I was trying to ask all staffs and got 1 answer "who is JOY" really? I gave this place like 2 last tries, they didn't understand what exactly i want and messed it up. First of all the service, I waited at the front for five minutes before I was even acknowledged. Then told to step aside for another customer. Not to mention have some cut in front of me. This was the worst hair cut I've even had, they rushed through my hair cut to go home early. After I got home I realized how terrible it looked. I'm not going to be coming back here again. read more
