I brought three pictures and clearly explained that I wanted blonde hair with contrast and dimension. I was told this could be achieved. Unfortunately, the finished color was completely different from the photos. My hair was left an ashy, mousy brown with very little dimension, and the blonde money piece I requested in the front was gone. I was also charged an additional $50 for toner, which was not explained to me beforehand. I was very disappointed with the result and will need to have my hair corrected elsewhere. Based on this experience, I would not return to Trisha.

Called Wheeler Davis and spoke to the owner. Explained my needs, including a color correction and wanted a fabulous longterm stylist to work with as I was modeling. Discovered he booked me with the 'walk in stylist" so I only booked a consult. During my consult I realized the stylist knew her stuff and wondered why the salon wasn't allowing her to build a client base. Well I discovered why when a few months later over half the staff walked out due to poor working conditions, unhappy clients and along with a dose of snooty vibe. I followed the stylist who did my color correction and have been with her ever since. Heard Lo is interested in the Who's Who and famous people in the surfing world which I understand from a marketing standpoint. Lo darling...I'm in the Hall Of Surfing Fame and would have been happy to refer your salon but was treated like I was happy with Supercuts.

I also explained that I have been a loyal client who has previously flown out of state to see my longtime stylist, but I was hoping to find someone local. I never received a response to my message, so I called. The person that answer confirmed the owner had received message and told me a person outside their salon would be a "better fit." I reached out to that person as well and received no response. Message received. The whole experience was disappointing and honestly painful. Looking for a new stylist as a queer/trans person already comes with a lot of anxiety around whether a space will actually be safe and welcoming. Sadly, this interactions let me know that my concerns were real. I can't speak to their intentions, but I can speak to the impact: I did not feel welcomed, wanted, or safe as a prospective LGBTQ client. I wish businesses could be more direct about who they aren't prepared to serve, because being quietly redirected elsewhere after explicitly asking for a queer/trans-friendly space feels awful.

I specifically told her I did not want anything stripey, chunky, or with any yellow/gold/brassy tones. Unfortunately, the result was the complete opposite of what we discussed. The highlights came out noticeably chunky and stripey, with harsh lines, poor blending, and a distinct brassy yellow tone that makes my hair look damaged and unnatural. I've never had a salon service turn out this poorly before. Lauren herself was kind and professional during the appointment, and I believe she tried her best. However, the final result does not match what was agreed upon, and it has left my previously healthy virgin hair looking compromised. I reached out to Kate Lane management the next business day with photos from multiple angles showing the issues (patchy application, thick streaks, harsh lines, and brassy color). I politely explained that I was too upset to return for a correction and requested a full refund for the highlighting service. They have refused to issue any refund. I'm extremely disappointed in both the quality of the work and the salon's unwillingness to stand behind their service when it clearly did not meet the client's explicit instructions. This experience has cost me time, money, and confidence. I would have still returned to the salon for regular haircuts and to purchase hair products if management had handled this situation differently. I have had my haircut here many times and it was always a nice experience. Unfortunately, I cannot even recommend them for that anymore. Customer service is everything and this situation was not handled fairly or appropriately. I would not recommend Kate Lane Salon for color services, especially highlights. Proceed with caution -- or better yet, go somewhere else.

Unlike most women who have extensions for length, I got extensions to fill in patches of hair where I was experiencing hair loss, and that was on the sides of my head around my ears. I was forced to keep my hair short for years to cover for it, but with the help of Melissa and extensions, I can actually grow my hair long. Melissa consulted with me and how we could do it and make it look natural, she selected the right colors to fill in, and really she gave me back my confidence. I've been doing extensions with her for almost 2 years now. I started out with tape-in, and then she suggested that I try K tip for longevity and just for general wear and tear since I travel a lot for business. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. She makes my hair look very natural and and the way she cuts them makes them, you would never know that I had extensions. Not only is she a beautiful person inside and out, she's a miracle worker who has really helped me gain my confidence, learn how to do my hair again, and feel pretty and feminine. I also want to mention that I was charged for removal, which I wasn't expecting based on what I was initially told. I appreciate her working with my schedule and taking me in even after hours and after a full day of work! I met her on a Saturday at 5pm and ended at 10pm, I love that she took her time, analyzed my hair carefully, and delivered an even better result than our original plan , and on top of that, she's a warm-hearted person!
