Rolled the dice and took a chance...She was amazing! She's just lovely and so easy to talk to, makes you feel right at home. Being a mother too she was very timely had made sure I left with plenty of time to get home and put my 1 year old down for his nap. Most importantly the partial highlights looked amazing, so happy with it. Pricing for SoCal was very reasonable as well. I loved the atmosphere of the salon, very clean. Wonderful service! They even got me a coffee! I loved the whole experience, felt super pampered. It was a bit of a drive from where I'm at in Ladera but the ocean views were nice and glad they had parking too. Amanda Buchan at The District Salon has been doing my blonde highlights for over a year now and I have always been very pleased with the results. Just recently she added hair extensions to my very fine thin hair. I wasn't looking for added length, but volume. What an amazing result! I've had hair extensions before, but the method used (sew-in) was different and the hair felt very heavy, hard to sleep on and eventually pulled out some of my own hair. I believe the method Amanda used was a Fusion method. The extensions are much lighter, easy to sleep on and more natural looking. Amanda is a perfectionist and takes her time to be sure the placement (and color) of the hair extensions is just right. Ok the girl was amazing with a good personality, very upbeat and not pushy at all ...however , after consultation she informs me she's leaving the salon because she's moving to another state ! Not professional ...I made appt online and she should have denied the appt because she said she has known for weeks she was moving out of state ! She gave me a girl or two to ask for my next color, but still such a bummer because she did a great job ... but I wish her well ! Overall , a very cool and friendly salon !! I found Tiffany, set up an appointment with her over text, and went in for my first appointment not knowing what exactly would happen. WOW! Tiffany was even better than I'd hoped She's REALLY talented! She did a root and highlight so well that I squeezed in a second right before I left and added a cut. She's so good! I booked an appointment via the salon website, and not even 20 minutes later I received a phone call regarding my appointment, as I had not selected a stylist. The person I spoke with was super friendly and explained that she was going to pair me with Nancy Rawlins, since she specializes in cutting thick wavy hair, which I have. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted and asked if I wanted a beverage, coffee, tea, water, wine, etc., which I thought was awesome!
