McKenna was so open to the idea and cut it in a way that felt short enough to try something new, but still long enough to grow out easily if I decide to. I had highlights done by Lauren at Kate Lane Salon this past Saturday. Before the service, I was very clear about what I wanted: very natural, sun-kissed, barely-there highlights with soft blending. I specifically told her I did not want anything stripey, chunky, or with any yellow/gold/brassy tones. Unfortunately, the result was the complete opposite of what we discussed. The highlights came out noticeably chunky and stripey, with harsh lines, poor blending, and a distinct brassy yellow tone that makes my hair look damaged and unnatural. I've never had a salon service turn out this poorly before. Lauren herself was kind and professional during the appointment, and I believe she tried her best. However, the final result does not match what was agreed upon, and it has left my previously healthy virgin hair looking compromised. I reached out to Kate Lane management the next business day with photos from multiple angles showing the issues (patchy application, thick streaks, harsh lines, and brassy color). I politely explained that I was too upset to return for a correction and requested a full refund for the highlighting service. They have refused to issue any refund. I'm extremely disappointed in both the quality of the work and the salon's unwillingness to stand behind their service when it clearly did not meet the client's explicit instructions. This experience has cost me time, money, and confidence. I would have still returned to the salon for regular haircuts and to purchase hair products if management had handled this situation differently. I have had my haircut here many times and it was always a nice experience. Unfortunately, I cannot even recommend them for that anymore. Customer service is everything and this situation was not handled fairly or appropriately. I would not recommend Kate Lane Salon for color services, especially highlights. Proceed with caution -- or better yet, go somewhere else. read more

Horrible experience. I booked an appointment as I had an event Christmas Eve. Wanted a blowout before our scheduled event. Kate Lane accepted the appointment. I called in that morning to see if they had any earlier availability. They did, with a stylist that I had seen before and didn't do a great job on the blowout. I had asked for Korrie. Korrie was only available at my scheduled time. I get a text 45 minutes before my appointment saying Korrie was running at least 1 hour behind. What a huge inconvenience. I had to cancel. I drove by the salon downtown during my scheduled appointment (12:45) and the Salon was completely closed! All lights off! Sounds like they lied just to close up shop early.
