I'm beyond happy with the cut and color Ashley gave me today - a walk-in on a day they're normally closed. Even though it was ostensibly her day off, she took time to listen and take care to provide what I wanted - even offered to do some highlights which I would have thought I'd need to schedule an appointment for. She did some gentle silvery blonde highlights to blend my gray without making me look like an old lady. In fact, she brought out my inner hippie chick and made me look younger. I absolutely love this salon. Jennie did a fantastic job with my hair. She went above and beyond my needs. I hadn't had my hair highlighted in almost 6 months so it was BAD. She completely brightened it up and trimmed it so it looked healthy and new. She and her staff are also hilarious. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend this salon. Absolutely love Jennie. I came in with a horrid experience from another salon where they completely fried my hair and had like 5 different colors in it. Jeenie completely fixed it with a amazing amount of time within 2 hours and it come out beautiful I was able to make it too my party and love my hair. The other girls in the salon were such sweet hearts. And my overall experience was amazing and comfortable I will definitely be back and tell everyone to come here. I love it !!! read more

I have been going to this hair salon for years now. I found Kyndall here by first buying a Groupon, and I have been nowhere else since. Not only are her prices extremely reasonable compared to other salons, she does beautiful work and listens carefully. I have to have my hair colored quite frequently, and it never seems overprocessed or off color. She trims my hair in a classic style, and never tries to talk me into doing something I do not want to do. I've seen her finish other people's hair, and it always looks so good. I have had my daughter going to her for the last few years, ever since she cut her long hair, and it always looks cute. read more

This is my favorite salon and I LOVED my haircut. I've had long ratty hair for too long, and decided to chop it all of and they did the BEST job and styled it perfectly. There are hair stylists, and there's Leah...she's a true master. Being from NYC, I've been to many well known salons and I've never had a better stylist. She can look at any picture you show her, analyze and nail it. She listens, airs on the side of caution and ensures I always leave with exactly what I have asked for. Having lived in San Clemente for 2 years, i was on a constant search for that "go to" hair dresser. I read the only other review on Yelp from another guy about Kyndall and decided to give her a shot. She squeezed me into her busy schedule (and my wife the same day) and I was SUPER pleased with the way she cut my hair based on the picture I showed her of what I wanted. I believe if I'm going to pay $35+in this area for a haircut I should not only love the haircut but have a great experience overall. Kyndall is very connectable and fun to chat with. She deserves 5 stars and I am so happy to have found my new "go to" here in San Clemente!! read more

Went in for a root touch up & tone with Kyndall & she did fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about what to do with my hair & had great tips on how I can continue taking care of it out of the salon. Will definitely be back! Went back a 2nd time a month 1/2 later for my next root touch up & Kyndall did not do as great a job as the 1st Time. My roots were still yellow. I have since found a new hair dresser. read more

Jennie is fantastic!! I had been going to my regular stylist for about 3 years when the last time she cut it... suddenly.. it would not layer the way it always did! I went back THREE TIMES for her to fix it... but she did not know what she did different! I didn't know what to do.. and then someone told me about Jennie! THANK GOD! She was just a doll, super fantastic, quick, new exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. I am SO GRATEFUL she was able to handle this! I'm a new customer to Syrens, and on my first visit, Lea gave me the best haircut I've ever had. This is the first time I've shown a picture to a stylist where they actually nailed it! OK, I know tons of people come in with pictures of celebrities and there's no shot in hell you'll ever come close to looking like that. So I don't look like Salma Hayek, but my hair sure does. I asked around, and my good friend has been going to Lea for years. Also, my hubby has been going to Syrens for a few months now for regular cuts. I needed help with a major problem, a rookie stylist at another salon botched a recent color and my Asian black hair now had blonde tips that looked fried, and a lovely layer of streaky orange lowlights. I lived with it for a few weeks to let my hair rest so it wouldn't fall out from over-processing for a color correction. After telling Lea my sad story, she knew just what to do. She gave me an all-over color that's close to my natural shade, gave me the style I wanted in the picture and cut off all the hideous blonde ends. My hair texture feels right again, and so shiny and healthy. The best part is that I can duplicate the style at home. For decades, I have been asking stylists to give me a cut that would work when I blowdry it at home. It's never seemed to work before, but this new cut seems to magically fall into place after I blowdry it. I'm not sure what she did, but don't think I can ever trust my long & luxurious locks to anyone else. Syrens has a vibrant and edgy vibe to it. Don't let it intimidate you. The stylists may be hipper than you are, but they will deliver what you ask them to. They like their individuality, so I don't think they are interested in making you look like them. They bring out the best in you. read more

Is it cheating if you are friends of the owner? :) My hubby and I have been customers at Syrens forever. We drive from Costa Mesa whenever the hairs need cutting. And even tho we are the "hair monster" Lea, the owner, always makes time and does a killer job. My old man has very long hair. He does need to look professional at times and somehow Lea manages to make his hippie hair look awesome. So much so that he gets a little too much attention from the ladies. The product recommendations are great. The salon has numerous products to choose from and you will always get a personal recommendation from any of the stylists. Not a "buy this cause it is on sale" but, they will take the time to be sure you are getting what you need. We are big Davines users and this is one of the only places in the OC you can get it. As far as the gallery goes. The art is amazing. Many local artist are featured and it gets changed out pretty frequently. If you see something you like, buy it, cause if you wait it will be gone. (Personal experience talking here.) I have to give props to Lea and all the gals and guys at Syrens. We have been long time friends and supporters of this place and I have sent tons of friends their way. Never have we had a friend not love the service and the people. Without a doubt one of the best salons in OC. read more

I can't speak to their intentions, but I can speak to the impact: I did not feel welcomed, wanted, or safe as a prospective LGBTQ client. I wish businesses could be more direct about who they aren't prepared to serve, because being quietly redirected elsewhere after explicitly asking for a queer/trans-friendly space feels awful.

Syrens is the best hair Parlor in San Clemente! I recently moved here from NY and needed a new stylist after having one for nearly ten years! I looked online and saw reviews for Syrens and decided to check it out. Best decision I made since I have been in Cali! I went in nervously and spoke with Kyndall and made my first appointment after hearing her tell me confidently that she could pretty much do anything. Kyndall was not only friendly but she was very professional and gave me a perfect cut and style, so I knew after that first visit I was hooked! She literally did a perfect job, so I went back again today and was pleased more than the first time. She is nothing but smiles and listens to exactly what I want and delivers beautifully. I give her and the Parlor a perfect ten rating! She also does men's hair and children's hair. If you need a perfect haircut for any style, go see Kyndall! I will never see anyone else! I was contacted by the owner regarding my previous review. She asked for more info and offered to compensate me. I had already spoken to her after this happened and she was not nice to me at all at that time. I'm not interested in going back there due to the way I was treated by her initially, she almost had me in tears. A simple appology would have been of great help. Instead, I was talked down to and treated very poorly. The girl that did my hair (& everyone else in the salon at the time) were VERY nice. My hair, as stated in previous review did not hold at all...I could tell she wasn't very experienced. My stylist was asking for help a lot! I just don't understand why you'd give a bride to someone with little experience. My bridesmaid's hair was great, her stylist was much more experienced. read more

Sasha at Syrens has been doing my hair now for almost 3 years. I love her. This is just the vibe I was looking for in a hair parlor. I was depressed and walked in there off the street. I got in right away and have been going ever since. The art on the wall is always interesting and changes frequently. Every staff member is super cool. My hair wasdone terribly! The stylist missed big peices of hair! I couldn't believe after paying 80.00 for a formal style that I had to have a friend redo it for me. I called and spoke to the owner who was really rude. I didn't even ask for my money back but she was defensive and rude from the start. Well, no more Syrens salon for me...EVER!!!!!! read more

After two weeks of being unhappy staring at my botched hair, I finally contacted Kari, sent her a few photos of my hair, and created a game plan before our scheduled appointment. I appreciate her working with my schedule and taking me in even after hours and after a full day of work! I met her on a Saturday at 5pm and ended at 10pm, I love that she took her time, analyzed my hair carefully, and delivered an even better result than our original plan , and on top of that, she's a warm-hearted person! It has been the best haircut I've had in the past three years. Since losing contact with my hairstylist three years ago, the haircuts I've had turned out to be mostly okay but nothing like I wanted. Today was the first time in a long time that I was satisfied and felt it was worth it (though it wasn't all that much, it's about how much all the other trendy salons charge for women). Brad was my stylist and my appointment was at 9:00 am. I know, ridiculous of me, but I had a day full of errands. I came in a few minutes early but Brad was already in and preparing for me. He truly listened to what I wanted and definitely got my idea. I didn't even had to show him a picture of what I wanted and I came prepared with a handful of pictures. He also asked if he could cut a few inches off my waist length hair, which was nice because I had someone cut 6 inches off without asking me first. He explained that cutting off the two or three inches off will help shape the haircut I wanted and I easily went with it because what he suggested was reasonable. I thought why not, it's summer and my long hair is driving me insane with its heat retaining properties (I kid you not!) and it's been getting tangled a lot lately. Brad was very personable and tolerated my chatty mouth so early in the morning. I normally don't talk that much during the day but I haven't had coffee yet and I was still half asleep. It was just me and him for a while until one of the other employees came in. My fiancee originally referred me to Brad for haircuts. He found this salon through yelp and gave it a shot about two weeks ago. My fiancee loves his haircut and I know he'd bug the crap out of me if I don't go to the same hairstylist. My fiancee and Brad definitely hit it off. My fiancee also said that Brad and the other hairstylists only come in when they have appointments set up. Otherwise, they wouldn't come in. So make sure to make an appointment instead of just walking in. My fiancee said it was just him and Brad as well on a weeknight. The place was clean, trendy looking, and I liked that it wasn't crowded although I thought it was a little stuffy in there (could be better if they turned on the AC). Overall, I would recommend this place, Brad specifically, because both my fiancee and I definitely will be coming back. I have finally found a hairstylist to go for the first time in three years!
