I feel like he did a great job setting expectations, for example, letting me know that the eucalyptus seen all over Pinterest inspo isn't allowed in Hawaii, while offering similar alternatives. Despite its size (the penthouse suite at the O'ahu Four Seasons), Fong's work made the location feel intimate and ours. We ended up using some of the flowers in our engagement shoot the next day (she said yes!), and they held up throughout our stay. Listen, Fong isn't cheap, but this is one of those "you get what you pay for" kind of deals. Beautiful craftsmanship with tons of initiative. Besides meeting her once for our consultation she stayed in constant contact with me throughout the whole wedding process through phone or email. I really wanted to focus my time and energy on making the reception hall look magnificent and from the very beginning she just got my whole concept and executed things exactly the way I wanted. She had me send her examples of bouquets I liked, flowers I liked, flower colors, I sent her a sample of what I wanted my reception to look like and a sample of my invitation, everything possible so that she could really get my theme-- and boy did she get it! I gave her my budget and she worked with it and I got everything that I wanted (think calalillies, monzenita branches, philenopsis orchids, high vases, low vases, lots of bling, etc.). At the last minute I even said that I would like some sort of an arch for my ceremony and I told her I only had $500 for it and she said she could do it and in the end that was the best looking archway I've ever seen with monzenita branches with strands of white orchirds, strands of jewels, and strands with little glass ornaments with a single white orchid in them hanging down from the archway. EVERYONE, and I mean everyone, said that the floral arrangements were breathtaking and that everything looked so posh and luxuirous; that they've never been to a reception like ours before and I attribute this to her designs! At the end of everything I told her that I truly felt like she was my hanai mom and I meant it. She was a dream come true and anyone would be blessed to work her!

For 1 year, she patiently met regularly online with us and was quick to respond to emails. She was organized and very helpful, with excellent suggestions on everything from floral suggestions (using arch flowers as centerpieces, using bridesmaid bouquets at the head table) to hair and makeup recommendations (Mai Tokioka was truly as fantastic as she said) to restaurant recommendations. Sarah offered to receive packages at her home so we didn't have to overload our suitcases bringing things over from Canada, and also offered to print our welcome board, seating chart and display photos. This made life so much easier for us. Because of renovations at our wedding venue, we weren't able to stay there and had to stay across the street at a sister hotel. Sarah ensured that we weren't inconvenienced by having her assistants help move our things from room to room, and made sure nothing got lost. On the day of the wedding, Sarah had 2 assistants to ensure the day ran smoothly. One assistant was very sweet and followed me around to ensure I had everything I needed and helped with my dress for photos. The other assistant so kindly ran around from hotel to hotel when I forgot my garter and other things. Sarah herself made sure everything was perfect, including music, cake florals, name plates, guest sign-in table, and even helped set up the electric keyboard I requested so I could play a song just before my processional. Sarah took care of our "day of planning" which was actually 2 months out because we just wanted the final details taken care of as we had prebooked out the majority of our vendors (photography, DJ, lion dance, cloud effect, photobooth etc). She reached out a little prior to to our 2 month out timeline start date. Here we had meetings to check in with our DJ about music, and met a few times in person to ensure the flowers, song choices and ceremony were all in check. Just before the wedding, we met and she took our guest sign in book, table signs, seating chart, pens, etc. Bascially and literally took everything off our hands. Hiromi, her assistant helped during the big day and helped me change in our room to a shorter reception dress. Both of them deserve the biggest praise for helping our dream wedding come true. Thank you Sarah and Hiromi!!! Now, this isn't even covering the flowers portion. In addition to "Day of Planning" we also booked Engaging Moments for our arch flowers and wedding reception flowers which were alternating tall and short flower arrangements. After we discussed the details of my wedding, she said she'd contact me with a quote. However, I never heard back from her ever again! She totally ghosted me!! We wanted to be involved with our wedding but had no idea how to go about it, and were in fear of what could potentially be missing, things missed on contracts, etc.. I mean, both of us had never gotten married before and our family.. yeah nope. We wanted to throw a good party and still both worked full time. Prior to that for the rest of the year, Kristen was there for us as a consultant, if we had questions, needed recommended vendors, etc.. this was such a great comfort for us!! Her taking care of vendor times to setup, timelines, setting up our decor, coordinating the flow of the wedding is EXACTLY what we needed and she did it FLAWLESSLY! Now to the day of my wedding.. it ended up raining, but Kristen pulled a miracle by moving the reception into an alternate area, everyone on the team on board to move everything.. now this wasn't even part of the "plan B" to begin with, but all our guests had no clue and everything went flawlessly. We decided to plan a 50 guest wedding in Hawaii, and picked Honolulu as the spot. While we picked our event venue (Modern Honolulu) we needed someone to really help us in organizing everything at the location, as we had not checked out anything before. Also, as sister of the bride, I was not going to be planning every detail (no thanks!). From the immediate first interaction email, Cortney was a true delight to work with. She handled everything with professionalism and helpfulness, not to mention being such a friendly and reachable person. All the details fro pre-wedding night dinner to post wedding activities were handled, and she had consistent contact with the hotel venue to make sure all the guest accommodations and event logistics were set. When meeting in person a couple days before the wedding (which was last night) she was even more awesome in person and helped run even random errands my annoying family had asked. From the DJ, wedding favors, banquet, reception, officiator, photog and SO MANY requests, she did everything for us.
