We decided to have my sister's wedding in Honolulu, as she didn't want the typical wedding in our local city (San Francisco). We decided to plan a 50 guest wedding in Hawaii, and picked Honolulu as the spot. While we picked our event venue (Modern Honolulu) we needed someone to really help us in organizing everything at the location, as we had not checked out anything before. Also, as sister of the bride, I was not going to be planning every detail (no thanks!). From the immediate first interaction email, Cortney was a true delight to work with. She handled everything with professionalism and helpfulness, not to mention being such a friendly and reachable person. All the details fro pre-wedding night dinner to post wedding activities were handled, and she had consistent contact with the hotel venue to make sure all the guest accommodations and event logistics were set. When meeting in person a couple days before the wedding (which was last night) she was even more awesome in person and helped run even random errands my annoying family had asked. From the DJ, wedding favors, banquet, reception, officiator, photog and SO MANY requests, she did everything for us. Three words to describe her service: Unorganized, Lackadaisical and Unreliable. If you are someone who likes things well organized, her service will give you a headache. Be prepared to do a lot of homework and make spreadsheets on your own. I didn't imagine doing so much work when I had a full service wedding planner. Frankly, I chose her because her price was reasonable compared to other companies I researched. Maybe this is what you get for a cheaper price? Shame. If I could do it over, I would go with a more expensive one considering all the stress I went through. 1. Planning. We had monthly and bi-weekly phone meetings. More often than not, she would miss important details we had previously discussed. We would have an hour long conversation about table linen colors and table arrangements and I would receive an invoice from the rental company listing wrong colored linens and wrong number of tables. She made so many errors, to the point where I was paranoid and had to double, triple check everything she had done. We were in Hawaii for Christmas and were super excited to do a food tasting as Cortney bragged about chef Grant. She said she would schedule a tasting at his kitchen. Without any apologies or explanations, she picked us up and took us to these kitchens that I had already said "NO" to. Turns out chef Grant was unavailable. Wish she had communicated that with us and discussed a backup plan instead of completely ignoring what we had talked about. I booked a Hair and make up trial for my mom and I a few months prior to the wedding. It was scheduled at 1pm on the rehearsal day. She texted me 4 days before the rehearsal that there was a miscommunication and it couldn't happen. It made me very sad because I had been excited about the special mother-daughter time. Plus, our hair person was terrible on our wedding day. If we had done a trial, it could have worked out better. 2. Rehearsal When we landed in hawaii, the first email that greeted us made me rage. (See Attached.) She wasn't apologetic at all about this last minute plan change for our rehearsal that involved 18 people. I flipped out. This was certainly not what I was expecting to encounter as we had just flown in from LA, excited and anxious about our big day. I know unexpected things can happen, but how she delivered the news really infuriated me. She seemed incapable of grasping how that might give me an enormous amount of stress. It felt like everything was falling apart, but there she was, busy telling me how excited she was. 3. Wedding day When I arrived at the venue with my bridesmaids, our photographer greeted us. I asked him where Cortney was, he said she is working on reception tables. She later showed up for 2 seconds and disappeared again. Soon after, I started getting texts and phone calls from family and friends who were confused about where the shuttle bus was. The bus was not where Cortney had said it would be. She was nowhere to be found, didn't pick up her phone, so guests had to figure it out on their own. Can you guess how this made me feel right before walking down the aisle? She sucked at communicating with vendors on the wedding day, too. Our officiant came to us right after the ceremony, asking for payment. It was absolutely unacceptable since I had given her checks to give to vendors. Where was Cortney? Our DJ didn't have a timeline of the reception and was confused about the order of cake cutting and speeches. He came up to us while we were enjoying our main course. I said "Cortney should be able to tell you about the order." He shook his head and said SHE WAS NOT AROUND to answer his questions. Speechless. 4. Post wedding For me, this was the worst part. There was no proper wrap-up at the end of the night. The groom had to run around and gather our custom-made props because no one else was. Once again, she was nowhere to be found. Felt like she didn't care about us anymore at this point. Last but not least, we had brought our own alcohol. A clear communication about where the leftover bottles were would have been helpful. Next day, I texted her about it. She gave me a phone number of the shuttle company and said, "The staff put the bottles on the bus and told everyone." What? Who is "everyone"? My korean parents that don't speak English? Or guests who were drunk, tired and passed out? NOBODY KNEW. When I contacted the shuttle guy, he was clueless about the alcohol loaded on the bus. When I asked Cortney to handle the situation, she then proceeded to text me that it's not her business hour. I understand that it was late, but perhaps it could have been delivered in a nicer way. It's like I was bothering her even though it was SHE who was horrible at her job. Even though she was completely useless, my wedding was great thanks to families and friends who looked out for us. PLEASE THINK AGAIN BEFORE HIRING HER. I don't think anyone should go through what I did. read more

I don't write a lot of reviews, but when I do it's for a good reason. So listen up. Beware of Cortney! Hiring her was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. What started off as a charismatic and promising wedding planner ended up being quite the opposite. She is disorganized, takes no accountability, and gets defensive when called out. Every time I think back to her service it just puts me in the foulest mood. It breaks my heart seeing my wife the last few months before the wedding. I was already weary with the "agreeable price" next to other companies we were looking at, but when my wife first spoke to her on the phone she told me what a special connection she made with Cortney. My gut told me there had to be a catch, but I went with whatever made my wife happy. A few months later we head to Hawaii to meet her in person and I'll give it to her, she seemed charismatic in person. But that's where it ended. Food tasting experience was absolutely atrocious. She set up two catering companies that tasted exactly the same. The third option she gave, the Chef had an event so we couldn't even taste the food. Instead we had to get my parents who live in Hawaii to taste it a few weeks later. I was livid, but was reassured by Cortney everything was going to still be good. Throughout the months after the food tasting disaster I'd have to hear my wife painfully describe how every conversation Cortney would forget something. It was unnerving as every request had to be triple checked. Of course when I'd try to chime in to help my wife direct/communicate with Cortney better, Cortney would just throw in a couple of emoji smiley faces and a constant "this is going to be a beautiful wedding." My in-laws are from Korea and my wife set up a makeup/hair test for them to go to and of course that didn't happen. Instead we got the emojis and "everything is going to be wonderful!" So what did we end up with? Every single woman was unhappy with their makeup. The day of the wedding, the limo company was supposed to take the bridal party to the venue and then circle back to pick up groomsmen. That didn't happen, and the limo had no A/C! Groomsmen and I ended up having to drive in a rental to the venue. No direction from Cortney at all. Not even an apology that things weren't going as planned. We finally get to the venue and I swear I saw her three times the entire wedding. I think once she realized she screwed up, she avoided everyone. Everybody was catching on including my family. She was over it. I remember handing her over cash so she could pay the vendors. You'd think at the very least she could have done that since I didn't see her at all during the wedding. Instead, the priest comes up to me and my wife after the ceremony with some joke like "you guys are so great, you take care of your wife now!" and then immediately followed with "hey, do you have my payment?" It was shocking and embarrassing. Why would I have your payment if I have a coordinator who is supposed to take care of that? That's not where it ended. DJs were confused, photographers had no direction- it was like Where's Waldo. I remember cutting the cake and she didn't even save slices for us. Entrees came late, shave ice truck that was supposed to be dessert came before these were served, and there was just no direction in general, because she was nowhere to be found. By the time the wedding was done, all she cared about was her own crew. She didn't help facilitate anything: the personal photos we put up, the alcohol we purchased separately, or making sure all the guests got onto our shuttle. Think about it. You'd think after all the above happened (from poor planning to a wedding full of logistical nightmares) that we would at least get some apology or acknowledgement. It's not like we wanted a refund, just acknowledgement that there were so many hiccups and that she was sorry. Nothing. Humble she is not. Beware! read more

I don't usually feel compelled to write reviews but my experience with Cortney was just too amazing not to share! We were on a very tight budget for our destination wedding on Oahu and throughout the planning process, I highly considered not using a wedding planner at all in an effort to save money (I work in PR/events in the beauty industry so was confident coordinating everything myself). About a month out from our wedding, we reached out to Cortney on a whim to see what it would cost for just her day-of coordination package and were completely blown away at her competitive offer and immediately booked her. While we technically only paid for her day-of coordination services, Cortney went above and beyond to help with so many last minute details more than three weeks leading up to our wedding date. For example, she helped us book additional vendors, come up with a beautiful concept for all our decor and rentals, drafted our very detailed and thorough day-of timeline, met us bright and early in the morning for a walk through of our venue, Moli'i Gardens at Kualoa Ranch, the day before our wedding and so much more. And that's not even close to where Cortney's hard work and dedication ended...on the day of our wedding, Cortney was a total Super Woman! First, she surprised my bridesmaids and me with coffee, fruit and champagne while we got ready and was busy (literally) running around setting up our ceremony and reception sites all morning, yet somehow was always there when we had questions. Once the bridal party was all dressed and ready to go, it was time for our first look. During our walk through the day before, Cortney had pointed out the most beautiful hidden trail with serious jungle vibes for a super intimate first look, right on site at our venue - a location we would have never known about if it weren't for Cortney's expertise. This is just one example of how deeply she knows the island, venues, wedding industry, local vendors, etc. After our first look, we headed to take family photos right on the lower lawn of Moli'i Gardens, which is covered by huge breathtaking Monkeypod Trees and despite being in the middle of a million things to finish set up, she stopped to help the groomsmen put on their boutonnieres and gave me a sneak peek of my bridal haku that I wore for the reception. On the topic of flowers, I have to add how amazed we were at our florals for the wedding. Cortney also owns her own floral company, Wylder Florals, and was able to do so much more with our flower budget than an average florist would have. I HIGHLY recommend doing flowers through Cortney in addition to her wedding planning services. I was most particular about my vision for our florals and Cortney completely knocked it out of the park! My bridal bouquet was breathtaking and overall, our flowers brought our vision to life so beautifully. As for decor, I was adamant about sticking to our rental budget but also asked for a lot. Cortney got us an incredible deal on all our rentals, one that we wouldn't have gotten anywhere else, and again, did so much with very little budget! As if that wasn't enough, Cortney has her own collection of rentals and comped all our chargers, flatware, bar accessories and more, which I appreciated so greatly. While she certainly has the planning down to a science, she's also full of little surprises, which made our big day even more special and memorable. A couple of my favorite touches that she added were POG mimosas for our guests as they arrived and our last dance of the night accompanied by a smoke bomb and sparklers. Unbeknownst to me, Cortney had given my girlfriends sparklers and all of a sudden my groom and I were slow dancing to one of our favorite songs in the most magical billow of smoke - making for one of our favorite moments of the night! Finally, I have to mention how organized, thorough, experienced, kind and charming Cortney is. She made sure my groom and I weren't bothered with anything on our day, including everything from directing our processional during the ceremony, handling all of the payment for our vendors, keeping us on schedule, acting as DJ on her portable sound system all night (which was her idea so we could save on a DJ for our intimate party of 30 guests!) and even keeping our glasses full of champs at all times! Cortney is truly a class act and doesn't miss a beat! I could go on and on about how amazing Cort is but hopefully this review is helpful for both brides on a tight budget and those with more flexibility (I've thoroughly researched/stalked Cortney's work and know she's wonderfully executed many different styles of weddings and at all different budgets!). Not only is Cortney a rockstar and is a big reason we'll remember our wedding day so fondly, but she is such a kind and genuine soul, we also gained a friend. :) Hands down, Cortney is the best in the business! read more

As a vendor (Alexandra & Co) in Hawaii, I have to say that this company has put together the most intricately detailed wedding I've seen yet! I work with weddings 4-7 times a week and see lots of traditional, boring, stale, heavily used ideas over and over again. This wedding coordinator, however, added so many unique personal touches to the wedding party I worked with in Hau'ula that it truly felt like a personalized and stylish wedding. Every detail was placed perfectly. Nothing looked ordinary about it. It was timeless, fun, inviting AND creative. I would have a second wedding just for the joy of being able to work with Cortney again. Cortney was our designer, savior, financial planner, comedic relief - everything we needed to make our wedding perfect. My husband and I planned a Hawaii wedding from the east coast, and we were looking specifically for a wedding planner who could provide us insight on the right local vendors to match our style. She did all of that and more. One of the most important things to us was staying within our wedding budget, and Cortney went above and beyond to provide us vendor options that suited both our style and our pocketbooks. At no point did we feel like we had to compromise something we wanted because Cortney was able to find an option to satisfy our every request. It's worth mentioning that when she arrived at the venue it was raining, heavily at times. She was completely unfazed, as she already had a backup plan in place. I met Cortney at a wedding expo and knew I had found the perfect planner for my wedding. I had met a lot of planners that day but they all seemed uptight and rubbed me the wrong way. Something about Cortney just fit and I knew she had the right personality to help plan and coordinate my Little Mermaid themed wedding. Cortney was so patient and helpful with every change and the hundreds of questions. She was running around picking up Lei, Dresses, food, and who knows what else. The bridal party and groomsmen were on different floors of the hotel so she was going between the floors to check on everyone and doing set up in the room adjoining the bridal party room all while keeping a smile on her face. The wedding itself was amazing. We got married as tropical storm Darby rolled into Oahu. She managed to keep me calm, set up the venue perfectly even with the last minute changes due to the storm, and make sure everything ran flawlessly. Our wedding was on my 30th birthday. Cortney surprised me with Ariel and I think my face said it all. It was the sweetest surprise and something she did all on her own. It was such an amazing gift. She was super organized and made the whole process so much less stressful. I was referred to Cortney by another vendor after expressing my anguish at finding a wedding coordinator that was detailed, efficient and professional. Cortney and I met at a coffee shop for our first meeting and I was instantly amazed at how knowledgeable she was, her artistic eye and wonderful suggestions that eventually took what was merely an idea in my mind and shaped it into something beautiful. Above all, she was the kindest and sweetest person I had yet to come across in the industry. Cortney is just the the very best we could have asked for! We just got back from our amazing wedding at Kualoa Ranch in Oahu and were extremely impressed with the event she planned and executed. We found Cortney through another vendor and hit it off with her on our first conversation, all being UCSB grads. We had regular calls and she always had great recommendations, suggestions on ways to fit within our budget and insight we would have never known not being familiar with the island and the vendors. Her recommendations during our trip to Costco to buy all the alcohol were spot on and her design aesthetic was everything we had wanted. Even with our unexpected rain the day of, she was able to call on her connections last minute to get us a tent , some umbrellas and make everything fall into place. She was the hardest working person i'd ever seen at a wedding running around attending to the needs of us and all the guests. At first, I did not think I needed any kind of coordinator because a lot of the work had been done, or so I thought. The closer my destination wedding became the more thankful I was that I had Cortney. I found Cortney after researching reviews on Yelp and many wedding websites. I decided to have a consultation and knew immediately that she was going to be my coordinator. She was the best! She knew what I needed often before I needed it. Cortney was an amazing wedding planner! She was always very calm, organized and professional yet super fun and excited for the big day. After I hired her my stress level about the wedding pretty much disappeared. Leading up to the wedding, I'd ask her tons of random questions and she always got back to me and reassured me that everything was on track. Cortney was an absolute blast to work with! We had done all of the planning throughout the year with our vendors, and really just needed someone who would be able to be there on the day of to be able to take care of everything so that we had a chance to really enjoy ourselves and not worry about all of the logistics. There are no words to express how truly thankful and grateful I am for Cortney, she is absolutely amazing!!! I met Cortney at a Wedding expo, I just recently got engaged and it was very overwhelming for me. I was frustrated with all the other vendors and how aggressive they were that I started to lose hope. That's when I met Cortney, she was not pushy at all and gave me time to soak it all in before asking if I had any questions. She was very calm and sweet and gave me suggestions for venue locations.
