I'm going to jump ahead and just let y'all know this restaurant is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING....I MEAN…read moreAMAZING-AMAZING like "knock your socks off" amazingly good, like "holy moly guacamole" amazingly good! I honestly have never had a restaurant prepared meal that was even remotely prepared to this caliber of perfection! Alright here we go.... FOOD: We ordered WAY TOO MUCH, but we wanted to get a full understanding of what they were about, that and the pictures in the menu looked amazing. I always ask for suggestions when I'm trying something new.....And you can always tell when it's a knowledgeable, helpful and caring person by what they recommend....the 4 to 5 gentlemen who took care of us brought us an abundance of delicious and beautifully presented foods, including sides and specialties...we were blown away!! Service was beyond perfect....it really feels like you're hanging out with the family you always kinda wanted...lol! Above and beyond!!! Ambiance is comforting and relaxing not at all pretentious with plenty of room for large groups and families to enjoy together. I base a lot of my opinions about the overall quality of the restaurants that I review on the cleanliness of their restrooms....it's a "basic bottle line" that says everything you need to know about where you could potentially be eating and drinking by doing nothing more than taking a quick trip to the toilet. If it's a mess, LEAVE!! If it's kept up, well stocked and CLEAN, then hug the owner, tell your friends and family to eat there and write a good review because phenomenal places with pristine restrooms like Edessa are becoming a rarity, a thing of the past, a novelty in a new era of nasty, busted and gross establishments serving crap.... Try Edessa, you won't be disappointed!!

Food is great, and you can taste the ingredients are fresh. Their falafel is the perfect texture - good crisp to the exterior but light and fluffy and herby on the inside. Their falafel lemon tahini sauce is bright and smooth, a nice compliment. Tabouleh salad is not my favorite, way too dry and felt like I was gnawing on a dry bunch of parsley from the grocery store. Grapes leaves, order them. Hummus was smooth and creamy, pita hot. Their lamb smelled delicious but I'm not eating meat at the moment so didn't try it. Service is quick and kind. Prices very reasonable. Looking forward to trying more goodies next time!

I had heard about this place by word of mouth. Its tucked away a little off the main road. If you…read moresee "The Horn" that is the parking lot you need to go to to park for here. It is Somali cuisine. Most of the dishes are a meat with either pasta or rice. I got the Goat with rice. They give you a pitcher of what seems like orange kool aid (sorry no disrespect). I can't really have sweets so I asked for a bottle of water. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. There is a sink on the outside of the men's room and I know in places like Afghanistan, they have these sinks to wash your hands because you eat with your hands - it is sunna to eat with your hands (spoons are also provided). They also have a little sectioned off area for people to pray in a similar way that places like House of Kebab have a prayer room. Everything is Halal and there seemed to be a fair amount of people in there. The rice was very flavorful. It reminded me of the rice at Al Rasoul or Osh. It had some raisin and red onion - the flavor combination was very delicious. The goat was as expected. The flavor was good, be wary of small bones. The cost may seem higher than expected but it was a LOT of food. I ate off it for the next several days. Also if you want to support a locally owned Somali business I recommend it.

The restaurant is well established and doesn't rely on frills and gimmicks to attract their clientele. Lots of brown and neutrals dominate the aesthetic - cultural decor and an occasional tv can be spotted along the walls. All the kebabs are well seasoned and full of flavor. The meat is both crispy and juicy. The complimentary pita is served warm and is pillowy soft. Some of my favorite hidden gems on this menu are on the appetizer list. Don't skip over the chefs appetizer with creamy cheese, olives, herbs and ground walnuts! I also love the light but flavorful white bean soup with tomato broth and generous chunks of chicken.

They maintain an impressively enormous menu with just about every style of kabob on the planet! They also serve lamb shanks, gyros, and falafel among other options. The lamb is extraordinarily tender and pretty tasty, although the flavor isn't nearly as good as the best I've eaten in the Middle East. But I have unfairly high standards as a world traveler. The beef dishes are very good too, but again, not the best I've had. The service is fantastic with welcoming employees who make you feel right at home. House of Kabob is a worthy stop if you love Persian cuisine.
