Just got it today and I did the 3 meat combo. The beef shawarma is over cooked and rubbery same with the chicken shawarma. I'm disappointed as hell. I haven't even tried the kabob because it just looks dry. The "spicy salsa" that they have is just regular salsa, nothing spicy about it. The only thing that I liked was the rice and the baba Ghanoush. Once again super disappointed since everyone gave it such high reviews. Not sure how to reply to owners comment because Yelp isn't allowing me. But if he sees this, I was tempted in calling the restaurant because I was pissed that I spent 25 dollars on a meal where I literally ate only the rice and baba ghanoush, but I decided against it because it wasn't worth driving another 25 minutes there and back home. Additionally, if you strive to make the food to perfection or tender, then how could you not see that it was jerky when you were preparing my order? I opened it and could just tell by looking at it that everything was all overdone. I'm very confident that anyone could have opened my container and say just by looking at it that it is over done. Had the Falafel Combo Dinner a few days ago along with an extra side dish of Kabsah rice...it was delicious!!! As a vegetarian, I am always looking for new restaurants and different flavors to add to my repertoire and Halal Eats did not disappoint! I look forward to adding this to my regular rotation of dining out, my ONLY gripe is that the Mendi Rice and Kabsah Rice are not listed as side dishes on their menu which prevents me from ordering those items if I want delivery (sometimes I am lazy and just don't want to go pick it up myself), but Grubhub and Doordash can't deliver items that aren't pre-selectable on their menus....other than that I loved eating here!!! read more

Came here and heard of this spot due to a groupon I had. I don't live close but love Mediterranean food I had to make the drive They have outdoor seating which is just great with a heater for people to enjoy on chilly nights. It's looks like there is a drive thru but they don't utilize it. Best to go in anyway. Plenty of booths to choose from and enjoy your meal. I ordered mine to go though. Great customer service and very accommodating to my order. The staff was so friendly that alone would make me come back. They Let me try an appetizer dip that I have never tried before and it was so fresh and packed full of flavor. It was the eggplant dip with garlic parsley and lemon along with tahini. What I loved about it was once I took a bit it covered my pallet for a few moments after I swallowed allowing all the flavors to come thru. Next time I'll order a side of that with pita bread. It's the Baba Ganuesh and if you're not a Garlic lover then do not order this as an appetizer. But I love garlic and it packed it with a punch. I also ordered the stuffed grape leaves, the chicken shawarma and had added pickles, lettuce, extra garlic sauce and my fries on the outside not inside. Just personal preference. It was all so fresh, perfectly seasoned. I also ordered the Kebeh and was disappointed that they fell apart when I picked one up, was more breading than meat inside and the meat wasn't seasoned or spiced in anyway like the menu description or that I have had before. I wouldn't order these again. I only ate half because it's a large meal and filling. If you don't like spicy food do not worry. Mediterranean food isn't spicy. They like to enjoy food and have a few sauces on the side that could be spicy, like their salsa The menu board is easy to see very simple without leaving you hungry for other options and very well priced. There are sodas but it's canned and they offer other Mediterranean drinks in bottles. If you are curious about Mediterranean food and want to try it. Visit this place. Best hummus and baba ghanouj in Fort Wayne by far. Their schwarma's are great (the fish,chicken, and beef) and they have a really nice amount of spice to them that is distinctly what schwarma should taste like but not overdone. Falaffel is almost always over cooked and dry everywhere I get middle eastern food but it was slightly moist and really flavorful. After spending 11 years of my childhood growing up in Dubai, I'm really happy to have a place like this close to home. read more

I had the beef Shawerma sandwich with a lemon and mint soda, er, "malt beverage" (from the cooler). Good, fresh flavors in the sandwich and since the soda wasn't overly sweet, the lemon and mint flavor paired well with it. Thanks for the recommendation Ayman, and very nice to meet you! Great food! I got the kebab today, and have had both the falafel and chicken shawarma. The basmati rice with two different styles. The pita bread is not your typical gyro/Greek style, but it is great. The yogurt dip has cucumbers, and it is either made in house or super high quality. The shawarma is made from chicken or beef, seasoned, and layered on a cone that is slowly roasted. In addition to the food, the people are super nice. If they were not so far up north from where I live, I would go there weekly. read more

I just moved to Fort Wayne a few months ago and got a craving for garlic sauce. This was my first time going to Halal Eats and I wasn't in the mood for any meat so I just got the Flafal Plate. OMG the flalfal was OUTSTANDING! Flavorful w/o being dry. The Hummus and garlic sauce hit the spot. I can't wait to try them again to try a kebab or shawarma. The food is great, very authentic. Compared to similar restaurants in Michigan, it is a little overpriced. But it makes sense because there aren't many restaurants like this in Fort Wayne. The meal portions are great, except for the "extras" that make the meal even better, like the sahoug and yogurt, they should come with every rice dish. I ordered 3 rice dishes and got one sahoug and one yogurt. That's not enough for 3 people. I ordered a large baba ghanoush and only got a small handful of bread. I ordered a total of 4 entrees with 3 sides, so the small portion of bread didn't make sense. read more

Great, authentic Middle Eastern food! Owner is usually behind the counter, he, and all the staff are very friendly and eager to introduce you to their culture through their food. If you're not familiar, they're glad to explain and describe dishes, even make recommendations. One minor drawback, don't go here if you're in a big hurry. As everything is made to order, it can take a bit to get your order, especially if they're busy. Now at Marketplace of Canterbury, next to Subway, they're not in the gas station anymore, there are several booths and tables and chairs, so it's eat in or carry out. Even if you eat in, everything comes in carryout containers, which makes it easy to take any leftovers home. Both the chicken and beef shawarma sandwiches are very good, as is the kebab. The stuffed grape leaves are not at all bitter, as I've had elsewhere. But my go to order is the lamb shank with kabsa rice, and fatoosh salad. Wonderful! read more
