We picked up goat biryani and chicken lollipops from here and they were both so good at an amazing price point! The flavors definitely erred on the Bengali side vs Indian, as is common in Buffalo. Even a non-Arabic speaker like me knows that, "Bismillah" doesn't rhyme! The better half's take on his kebab? "This is the best lamb I've ever had!". I thought the shwarma and fries were great, but the hummus served with warm pita, some fruity, green olive oil, and a sprinkling of sumac/ za'atar really knocked it out of the park. Desi has better curries and rice and Alibaba has better kebabs and naan. Both are great and in my opinion are the two best curry spots in Buffalo (way better than India Gate or Taj if you are okay with Pakistani style curries (generally have more oil than Indian curries). I highly recommend the chicken biryani and the chicken achari curry. The achari is my favorite curry in Buffalo. Portions are massive and the small curry is more than enough for one person. Note: if you order using Doordash they don't have bread listed on the app. Just order a mango lassi and put that you want naan in the instructions. They'll call you if there are any issues. They are very friendly and communicative. Bonus, the food always arrives quickly and piping hot.

Indian food is a little like Chinese and Mexican food in that (a) there are a massive number of varieties, many of which are nothing like each other, and (b) the majority of people in the US don't know or understand the cuisine whatsoever. What most Americans think is Indian, Chinese or Mexican food is absolutely not. It's probably bland, overly-sugary gentrified crap that was literally invented to sell to Americans, which the majority of people from the culture or country in question, would never go near. Such as the dish "Butter Chicken" which is about as authentic as a Taco Bell taco. And as bland, sugary, and spiceless, too. Yay Murica. What you need to do when you go for Indian or Pakistani food - if you've chosen well and picked a place that has some real Indian food, like this stand does - is to pick dishes that are actually authentic. In this case, the Egg Curry and the Chicken Karahi are both delicious, full of flavour and spice, and must-try dishes. The samosa is also excellent. If you haven't been to the West Side Bazaar, you haven't really experienced Buffalo Cuisine. We have some of the most delicious treats hidden around the region and this place is one of the very best. While you're in here, get a fruit smoothie (no milk, ask for real fruit) from Gourmet Lao, as well as the sticky rice from 007 and the Garlic Chicken soup from the Burmese place across from M Asian. We started with the lentil soup, boiling hot and full of lemon juice and black pepper. Mango lassis for both of us, and when we asked for tap water, we were given an entire pitcher of ice water for the table, with two cups. My husband ordered lamb handi, cubes of tender meat in a thick gravy with tomatoes, onions and green peppers. He had ordered it "Medium spicy", but I think the kitchen was grading on a curve: It was less punchy than the soup. Still, I wouldn't order "Hot" as I once did here: The chef takes pride in his liberal use of peppers at this level. (The menu warns you: "This is a dish for stronger constitutions").
