Another trip to the West Side Bizarre and another delicious meal consumed. This week it was M Asian Halal Foods that filled my stomach for dinner and they did a pretty darn good job at it. This was my first time having Pakistani since moving to Buffalo but knowing where this place was located was almost a guarantee that is was going to be fantastic. The menu features a lot of unique items that I absolutely need to try in the future (most notably the goat curry) but the chicken biryani is what drew me in on this day. The gentleman working the counter was friendly and and quick to deliver the food when It was done (nice and hot too!). The rice served with this dish would of been enough alone to satisfy me but the chicken that was underneath it gets 2 thumbs up! I can't put my finger on what exactly the flavouring was but it was absolutely delicious in every way. M Asian Halal Foods is another fantastic addition to the West Side Bizarre. So they're talking about having a black guy play James Bond. Idris Elba, I believe, was the front runner. So my question is... When are they going to make M Asian? The owners of this little stand, apparently, were wondering the same thing. And considering that one of the other amazing places inside the West Side Bazaar is "007 Asian Food", I think they're trying to tell us something. What to get: Chicken Karahi, or Egg Curry. What not to get: garrotted by one of Q's gadgets. Absolutely spectacular Indian food hidden away in the wonderful West Side Bazaar. One of the newer stands this place specializes in the egg Curry and especially the car. Chicken Karahi is a Pakistani specialty which is absolutely delicious. These guys know how to make it. Every bite is absolutely wonderful. Prices under $10 in the portion will fill you up. It's nice and oily just the way I like it. Indian food is a little like Chinese and Mexican food in that (a) there are a massive number of varieties, many of which are nothing like each other, and (b) the majority of people in the US don't know or understand the cuisine whatsoever. What most Americans think is Indian, Chinese or Mexican food is absolutely not. It's probably bland, overly-sugary gentrified crap that was literally invented to sell to Americans, which the majority of people from the culture or country in question, would never go near. Such as the dish "Butter Chicken" which is about as authentic as a Taco Bell taco. And as bland, sugary, and spiceless, too. Yay Murica. What you need to do when you go for Indian or Pakistani food - if you've chosen well and picked a place that has some real Indian food, like this stand does - is to pick dishes that are actually authentic. In this case, the Egg Curry and the Chicken Karahi are both delicious, full of flavour and spice, and must-try dishes. The samosa is also excellent. If you haven't been to the West Side Bazaar, you haven't really experienced Buffalo Cuisine. We have some of the most delicious treats hidden around the region and this place is one of the very best. While you're in here, get a fruit smoothie (no milk, ask for real fruit) from Gourmet Lao, as well as the sticky rice from 007 and the Garlic Chicken soup from the Burmese place across from M Asian. Now I'm going to write to the Broccoli family (and the late Ian Fleming) and Daniel Craig (and Sean Connery) and ask when the hell they are going to make M Asian. New to the West Side Bazaar is this Indian window. I can't remember what used to be here actually. But since I'm a fan of Indian I've tried this window 2 times. Both for butter chicken, which I really should learn to make myself. The bazaar has put in more seating and as a result is even busier than it was before. This is great. Large mix of people here too. At this window you will be met with another smiling face. He's eager to please and I like the result. The menu is not huge, but it is varied, so something for every palate and mood. Prices are reasonable here, consistent with the other vendors. Don't park at Rite Aid, they have started to ticket/tow. Find a spot on the street. read more

Indian-focused menu at the West Side Bazaar. If you're not familiar with the WSB, it's a one-stop for all sorts of ethnic foods where immigrant entrepreneurs set up shop. You order at a window and food usually takes around 15 minutes or so. This particar restaurant focuses on Indian foods. I went with the butter chicken per Maria B's review and thought it was decent. The chicken was boneless. It was priced at $8.99 and the total came to a little over $9 with tax. It was creamy and sweet and served with a heaping separate plate of rice! I love West Side Bazaar but I had never gotten food here! I decided to order their butter chicken with a side of naan and now I am just upset I didn't start eating here sooner! Their food is incredible and I will definitely be going back. I ordered takeout and it was actually ahead of schedule, yet still warm and good for eating. It was very filling and ended up being two meals for me because of the amount I was given. Definitely worth checking out at the bazaar! read more

My husband ordered the chicken biryani. The rice was perfectly cooked and was aromatic. The chicken was well cooked as well but for the Indian palate of ours it was a little under seasoned. But I think the majority of people would like the spice level. We ll definitely come back to try more things but probably ask them to make it more spicy for us. read more

I tried this place last night, and have been meaning to go to the West Side Bazaar for a while. They didn't have what I wanted to order, but we also showed up like half an hour before close, so it's no biggie. I ended up getting some veggie samosas and some beef curry over rice. The food tasted great, but the beef was definitely not done the same as a lot of the larger Indian restaurants. Bone in, tendons, fatty. But also very tender and flavourful. It was a special for the day, so I don't actually know how often they'll have it, but it was well worth the price. The veggie samosas? Okay, so I got two. I ate one and shared the other. And then, after we ate (I was there with some other people. Girlfriend, friend...) we got five more for the road. They as so freaking good, and a dollar. Like, not that the beef wasn't, but I'd go back just for the veggie samosas. As for the Bazaar itself, we did try some of the other food places too, just got dimsum and some other stuff, but I am going to save those reviews for their respective stands. Honestly, though, I don't know why it took me this long to check out the West Side Bazaar, but I'll be back. A lot. read more

Another great gem in the West Side Bazaar! The first time I was here I had the eggplant Bagan Partha which was spectacular! Smokey eggplant and rice - can't say enough good things about it! The next time I had the pan fried tilapia which was good but not great. It lacked the depth of flavor which I had grown to expect. Still excited to come back - stay tuned for updates! read more

Amazing, authentic Indian and Pakistani food. Even though lamb wasn't on the menu last Friday, he had some stewing in a spicy curry sauce. it came with a huge side of perfectly cooked basmati rice (not sticky or gluey) and extra cilantro. A steal at $10. Mo is passionate about his cooking and doesn't mind explaining food differences to we ignorant Americans. and boy, can he cook. read more

Located inside of the West Side Bazaar, this restaurant owner is a super nice guy and he deserves your business if anybody does. The samosas are the best around, hands down, and while everything I've eaten has been delicious, I usually come back to the Tandoori Chicken or Bagan Partha (an eggplant dish that I likely spelled wrong). I eat here at least a few times a month but I could do it every day. read more
