Prices are a bit higher than a halal cart, however, the quality and portions are better. I ordered the hot wings and a chicken over rice. The chicken over rice came with crispy seasoned fries and a small salad which all hit the spot! The wings were way too overwhelming as they were drenched in sauce. I personally wouldn't get the wings again. If you need extra sauces they are available in the fridge with the drinks. There is parking behind the restaurant which is a plus in queens and metered street parking in the front. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. I have very little bad to say about this establishment and a lot of good so here we go for a long ass review while I slack off at work Location: 10 minute walk from Queens College, 10 minute walk from the hospital and is pretty convenient if you're around the area. This new chicken and gyro spot is legit. Easily my go to spot for Queens halal cart food. Relatively the same prices as a cart but in a brick and mortar confined on a tiny strip mall, it's quickly becoming a local favorite. Queens always had decent halal carts but usually the better ones are closer to the city. This place is filling the void for the folks further out from the city and are doing it damn well. The lamb and chicken here are unique enough to set them apart from others along with their delicious white and hot sauce that also have unique profiles. The white sauce has just the right tang to compliment the marinades of the meat and that hot sauce has got the right amount of heat where it's not overwhelming and has tons of that peppery acidic flavor that adds the zing. Portions are fair and will be enough for most people. The side of fries is a nice way to help fill you up with that fried carby sticks of heaven along with a small, lightly dressed salad, which helps cut some of the greasy heaviness of everything else. It seems those actual pieces aren't served in the original bone-including form, but are chopped up. The manager at this location is an absolute monster who treats delivery drivers like they're beneath the average person. It's as if he's unaware that delivery drivers are facilitating sales for him. He has trained his employees to operate in a way that ensures that the driver's time gets wasted every single time. The employees press "ready for pickup" on their tablet, which sends a driver over immediately, meanwhile they don't even START preparing the order until after the driver arrives. Being that delivery drivers don't get paid hourly, every minute wasted is money wasted. No other restaurant in the tri-state area that I've been to does this to drivers. I tried calmly communicating this dysfunction, which was obviously futile. The manager eventually chimed in and got extremely disrespectful, aggressive and insulting towards me. Literally cursing me out in front of all of his customers just because I told them that they shouldn't press "ready for pickup" prematurely. His argument was that he doesn't want customers' food to get cold....as if concepts like heat lamps and insulated bags don't exist. Not to mention, drivers actually accept the orders and arrive on time in most cases, unless the customer hasn't left a single cent of a tip or is located 12 miles away from the restaurant. Regardless of the food, this Halal Munchies location doesn't deserve anyone's money and should rightfully get shut down or have a management overhaul. I urge everyone to at least order from a different location if they like their food. This location's manager is the nastiest, rudest scumbag that I have ever come across at any restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life. read more
