They left early the day I dropped it off so I wrote a very specific note on what needed to be done knowing mechanics aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. Well wouldn't you know. They never called to Speak to me. Had the car the whole day. I called and never got a call back. Went to the service and got in the car and the lights were still there even though they said it was all done. Now I'll be without a car two days in a row. Just inept people. read more

Stopped at the service department this morning, I asked if they could remove a locking wheel lugs, I bought my Mustang in November not from Haldeman but a private deal, I did not realize there was no lug nut receiver for my lugs with the car. The rude service writer that seemed he hated his job told me that they had to break them off and replace. Could be an eight hour job. Regardless, I called Gilboy Ford, they told me to come up that they may have a match for it but could not guarantee. Also called Bethlehem Ford who informed me the same. This review is for the service department only - no experience with sales. I did not buy my vehicle at Haldeman. We took our Ford Escape in for service because the check engine light was on repeatedly, and that can potentially mean big problems with this car. Dropped it off on a Tuesday evening for Wednesday service. I didn't hear anything from the service department, so called late on Wednesday and was told by the service advisor that they were starting a pressure test to check for coolant problem. Didn't hear anything Thursday, left a message that wasn't returned, called again late Thursday morning and the same service advisor told me that the engine needed to be replaced (note: Ford had a TSB on this, and it was all covered under powertrain warranty). He said they "hoped" to have the parts in and the repair complete by the next Friday- I can understand some delay because now it was almost Thanksgiving. I asked for a loaner and was told that they don't give out loaners to people who didn't purchase the car there (although this was a known Ford issue and was covered by warranty). (Side note: I called Ford main number and was essentially told that loaners for work like this are at the discretion of the dealer.) GOOD news is that after begging, we did get a loaner (thanks to the Service Manager at Haldeman) the next week, so we were only out a week of car rental. This was a good thing because it was 3 more weeks before the repair was complete (with no communication). I'm not normally one to write negative reviews, but here's the final straw. Since I have the Ford app on my phone, I could tell when the car had been run, so I checked it occasionally. Finally in December (the 4th week it was in the shop) I noticed on Monday that it had some miles put on it, so I figured that they would soon call and tell me it was done. Nope. Tuesday it happened to snow (this is significant)... I finally called on Thursday morning and was told they were "just finishing up the paperwork". When I went to pick up the car that evening, I returned the loaner, got my paperwork and was told my car was outside. Went outside and found the car in the lot....covered in the snow that had fallen 2 days earlier. read more

Dealership service and appointment personnel make you feel like your bothering them. Had vehicle in for the sound of gasoline moving back and forth while coming to a stop or starting to drive. They said they fixed the problem of course it still does it. I guess their waiting until warranty expires so they can make all the money instead of getting it from Ford, I wouldn't buy anything from this dealership. They the most obnoxious one on earth. I took it to two other Ford dealerships and they told me take it back to where you bought it. They lie to you about what they told you would fix the problem. Horrible customer service experience with the Service Dept!! I called on Monday to schedule an appointment to address my truck's transmission. I was told that I could drop it off on Tuesday morning. I was concerned about causing further damage to it or having a breakdown while I was driving, so I dropped it off on Monday around noon and explained the situation to the Service consultant. He stated OK, took my key, and I picked up a rental car. I hadn't heard back from anyone as of Tuesday afternoon, so I called to get a status. The Service consultant tells me that he hasn't had a chance to look at it and probably won't get around to it until some time next week!!!! REALLY?!? Had I been informed of this when I 1) made the appt or 2)dropped my truck off, I wouldn't have left it there and spent money on a rental!!!!!!! So I get to the dealer not even 45 minutes after speaking to the Service consultant, and they're all gone for the day. I spoke with the cashier and asked to speak to a Service Dept manager, and she tells me that the manager is on vacation....... Never again will I step foot into this dealership and I will tell everyone that I know about my experience. read more

Terrible service! I was sold on "The Lincoln Way" and the "great customer service" I would receive when my new Lincoln needed service. My check engine light came on and I was told I had to wait 2 weeks to bring it in until they had a loner to give me. I drove there this morning to drop my Lincoln off and then they called Enterprise to bring me a Toyota Corolla and needed a $50 deposit. I didn't buy a new Lincoln to drive a crappy Corolla. When I brought it to their attention that I would not drive a Corolla I was told that's the best they could do. I left with my Lincoln and will go somewhere else. 2 hours of my day wasted. The service employees at Haldeman on Lehigh are always nice and helpful, but I've lost track of the amount of time I've spent in the waiting room over the past 3 years. 2+ hours for an oil change, especially when I'm the first in line at 7:30am, is just insanely excessive. I checked in roughly around 7:25 and didn't get my car back until exactly 9:30. Knowing how slow Haldeman can be, I even attempted to schedule an appointment hoping it might expedite the process, but the service department claims an appointment isn't necessary for an oil change. It's great that they accept walk-ins, but I shouldn't have to sit here for hours on end, never knowing when I'll get my vehicle back. My alternative is to drop the car off and inconvenience someone else by needing to be picked up and dropped back off at the dealership. All for an oil change that I can accomplish myself in 20 minutes. I do appreciate that they inspect the car for other maintenance requirements during the oil change, I really do. But from now on, I'll continue changing my own oil even when it's 12 degrees outside. For regular maintenance service, I recommend taking your car elsewhere. read more

My trade-in was difficult because of the balance left on it and needing extensive repairs, but Jaime was able to roll in the payments and get them down to a reasonable rate. I've given Haldeman Ford 3 chances, and now it's 3 strikes, you're out! First experience: Great! Fixed up my vehicle after an automobile accident. Collision dept was great, communicative and courteous. Second experience: Fix a brake issue. They fixed the issue, however the Service dept's customer service is abysmal. You have to call them CONSTANTLY to get updates. The staff are grumpy, bothered to see you come in and hate answering questions. They always fudge the timelines when you are supposed to pick up your car. They kept my car hostage for 3 weeks, after I continually called them to see when the car would be ready. Then the service manager had the nerve to call me numerous times in one day to pick up the car. Sorry! Was out of town traveling! Which i told them. Guess I forgot to put my entire life on hold to wait for my car! THIRD and last strike: New tires and oil change. Asked if I could drop off car and if they could get the tires on for pick up the following morning. "No problem!" They say! I call Service at 10 am to check the status. Per the usual, left voice mail and no call back. I show up in person at 12 noon. What a whale of a tail they had for me! "oh tires were delivered to another site. We only just got them." Funny, as I was walking in I saw a pile of tires sitting there.. and seemed to be a mad scramble to bring them in as I was waiting. So when was my car actually ready? 6 hours later. I dropped off my car because ford support told me to take it to the dealership. Ford support told me that it was a known issue, and that there shouldn't be a charge. The issue is with the ford app and the communication modem in the car. When I arrived Victor asked how he could help. I told him I had an appointment at 9am and explained my issue. He then told me he probably wouldn't get to my car today. I said well I made an appointment for today. Victor then said ok well hopefully we can do it today. I said thank you and went on my way. Around lunchtime I called back and spoke with Victor, he said that they was taking a look at it now and will call me back. When he called back, he told me that they update and reprogramed and it was like $130. I then explained to him what ford support told me and he responded with we cannot do stuff for free, and there was no warranty. He then said well I will only charge you half price which was around $60. I responded with thank you and hung up the phone. When I arrived I went over to Victor and he said it was ready and to go to the cashier. There was a really friendly lady there and I started to explain my situation because this has been ongoing since May. I was telling her what the Ford support told me. Also this still didn't fix my issue and what should I do. Then Victor showed up in the office, grabbed my key and receipt and said here just don't worry about it goodbye. I responded with well this doesn't fix my issue but ok thank you and left. I will never take my car back to this dealership to have it serviced. If I could give negative stars, I would. Last year in March of 2016 I purchased my first car from Haldeman Ford Allentown and was satisfied with how they treated me so when I was in a terrible car accident that totaled my car, I went back to Haldemans thinking I would have the same experience and have established a quality dealership where I would continue to go to in the future since I am only 26. So I went back to Haldemans and purchased a used car which I thought I would be happy with. I purchased it mid February and was told that I would receive a GAP refund for my deductible on my previous car so I decided the GAP program would be something I would put on this car. So since February, I am still trying to get hold of people and receive my GAP refund because if I was not getting the deductible back I would have never put it on my new car. But aside from that issue, within 3 months and still under warranty with less than 4,000 miles driven all of a sudden my car is leaking. I take it in to another Ford Dealership close to where I live because I was informed it would be covered under my warranty. Guess what, that was incorrect and I had to pay 100 dollars for a diagnostic fee and then find out this car i JUST bought is leaking power steering fluid because the lines are bad, the shock is bad (which I pointed out the noise when I bought the car and they said it was fine), and the axle seal was leaking. I proceeded to contact Haldemans and see what is going on and what can be done since there is no way this could have happened with me barely driving the car. So it takes a while and I finally get a call back from the used car manager, Sal who told me to bring my car in and they would do the diagnostic and see what they can do. Ok I thought and drove over an hour to drop my car off on a Monday night. They gave me a rental car and then the following day they called me at noon and told me that there is NOTHING wrong with my car other than the power steering lines which I thought was weird since the other ones found more wrong but ok. So I then asked what they can do for me I am under warranty and I cannot afford to replace the lines so they offered to pay half of the bill being 600 so the total to fix the lines they estimated me at 1200 dollars. I thought ok well this car is unsafe to drive so they said they would keep me in the rental until they can figure it out. I get a call and am told the parts are backordered but they are doing what they can which was perfectly fine. After about 3 weeks they called me and told me that I had to bring the car back by Friday at 5 (it was thursday and I work 8-5 everyday an hour away) so I could not get the day off. So I called up the other Ford Dealership who did my original diagnostic and guess what they told me? They said I can personally order the parts that were backordered and then they would take it in and fix the car. So my question was why did Haldemans not offer this to me and when I brought it up to them they said yes they can do that but I still had to return the car the next day. If I knew prior I could have ordered the parts 3 weeks back and had them within the week and had my car back. So I was not informed of this by Haldemans but I was by another dealership which also gave me an estimate of 300 dollars cheaper for the exact same job. So then I was asked by Haldemans if I am going to order the aftermarket parts and bring it all back to them to fix? I had to have my car towed home from Allentown when I picked it up because it is unsafe to drive so am I going to bring it back with flammable fluid leaking hmmmm I would think not. So I finally get my car back and am taking it to another Ford Dealership which has been amazing with me throughout this whole process seeing as every single time I called Haldemans and left a message I would go unanswered for days unless I continually called and called. Then once I got a hold of someone at the dealership, there wasn't even anyone there who could "authorize the decisions" as they said to me and I called all times and all different days for 3 weeks and dealt with this. So this being said I will NEVER recommend Haldeman Ford of Allentown to anyone. Prior to this I would have and I would have gone back to them when I buy my brand new car but now after this I refuse to because 1. I can never get a hold of anyone that can help me and when I leave messages they never get responded. 2. the service I received on the phone was terrible and they were not very personable people and I did not feel any sort of respect. 3. I was misinformed about way more than one issue. That is all I wanted to say even though there are way more steps to this situation that I am still dealing with but won't happen again read more

I've recently bought a new Ford Focus from them. The salesman was very helpful and informative. It's one of the better car dealerships I've been to in the area. They were not pushy - they even suggested I check out equivalent cars from other car companies for myself to see that they have better deals. They even told me where I could find these dealerships! The entire experience was simply great. I ended up buying my car from Haldeman Ford since they provided me with the most bang for my buck, all the bells and whistles I was looking for, and of course an affordable loan. I've recently had my first oil change and filter service - free complementary with my purchase. No appointment was needed. I just drove in and in less than probably 15 minutes I was out. They were very friendly. They have a nice waiting room with a TV and a coffee machine. The hot chocolate was great. Overall I've been very satisfied with my Ford and the Haldeman Ford dealership. read more

At first I turned it down and then on the following Monday the Sales manager called me and made me an offer that we both agreed to . I would buy the truck and I could take it to my mechanic before taking ownership. But They not me had a problem getting the truck ready for me to take. Then on Thursday I was told they sold the truck to someone else. A recap, They made the deal with me and sold the truck without even letting me know just "were sorry it didn't work out for you" . How unethical can a dealership be to make a deal with someone and then say oh well sold it to someone else. I went to Haldeman to look at a truck I saw listed online (even though it was priced over market value with one accident on the Carfax). The salesperson seemed inexperienced and answered a lot of questions with "I don't know" and never followed up by getting the answers from someone more knowledgeable. He told me that even though the vehicle was more than 10 years old (and over 100k miles), it shouldn't be a problem to find a bank that would finance it since they work with so many. He took my credit application and ran it through the financing manager, and came back to me saying that I should have been approved, except for a freeze on my credit reports. I asked him multiple times if my credit itself was an issue, and he said that my credit was fine, it was just that they couldn't do anything with it because of the freeze - and that some banks would not finance a vehicle of that age. I wanted to put a deposit on the truck but they wouldn't allow me to do so. I called the credit bureau he thought was the issue, and they said there was no freeze on my account. Left the dealership, contacted the other two bureaus, and there was no freeze on those, either. I called the financing manager and he said that the reason I couldn't get a loan was that my score was too low (and referenced a disclosure that the salesperson had basically handed me on the way out and didn't even say anything about). I asked why the salesperson told me something completely different and he said "maybe he didn't want to hurt your feelings." I don't think that lying to customers is the proper way to conduct business, and it was MORE infuriating to deal with such deceit rather than being told the truth. I would have been much more understanding if they had straight out told me that my credit score was too low and the vehicle was too old / had too high mileage for the banks that they work with. Telling the truth should be simple, right? I found the manager extremely condescending and rude, and I will not be returning to this dealership, and will tell anyone I can to avoid them. read more

Took my car here because I had no choice.. I had a safety recall from Ford and because my extended warranty company will only cover services if I take my Fusion to a Ford dealer for repairs. As far as I know they did the work on the recall (i wasn't having problems related to it anyway) but I also asked them to look at a pervasive problem my car has had for over a month. A clunking noise in the steering and/or braking system. Talked to Vic there and a mechanic who was going to work on the car about the problem. Alas when I had to call the shop a couple hours later to check on my car (cuz they didn't call me)... I was told the car was finished and the car wasn't making the noise. I picked up the car frustrated because they didn't even pull anything apart to take a look to see if anything looked out of the ordinary.. No checking whatsoever. They just said.. Wasn't making the noise so we couldn't verify anything. And on top of everything.. As soon as I pull out of their parking lot what happens?? The noise!! Loud as ever. Not only are they a bunch of useless mechanics but they're also a lousy business and jerks to boot. read more

They almost never get the problem corrected the first time, but they always seem to find $250 to $1000 of other needed repairs. I can't afford the time or money going back here. I cant speak to the service department which is what it seems most of these reviews are mentioning...but what I can speak to is the sales experience. I am not local to this dealership but found it by looking for a very specific combo of vehicle. They had the car and I was able to do 99% of the deal over the phone and online between the salesmen Howard and Pete. All I had to do was show up and sign a few pages... all of the details on interest rates, terms, and vehicle condition had been done remotely. A few phone calls and 30 minutes in the dealership itself and I was on the road. No surprises... and everything laid out exactly as we had discussed. I got all the answers from Pete via text and photos, and phone calls... and his teammate Howard took care of me when I showed up. Its exactly the kind of experience I hope for when dealing with a dealership. Very pleased! I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again. Thanks guys! read more
