Back for an update. I couldn't find a copy of my prescription- so I contacted the office for a copy of my prescription. The attached photo is what I received. When I contacted the office again- they stated they would need to get a new one the following day (I was sitting in a vision center trying to order glasses- and they wouldn't accept the provided copy) The office stated they would get a new one the following day (4/2) and fax it to the vision center at the number I provided for them. Called the vision center to see if they had received it- they had not. I emailed twice- with no reply. I called today- asked to have it faxed to me. First fax was blank- I call back AGAIN "Oh yeah- I was just about to call you back" Finally- I received the fax with the updated prescription. I will NOT be returning to this office in the future and would not recommend them. (not sure if it shows my original post- but I made my appointment- showed up 10 minutes prior- and was still seen late. They clearly overbook folks and are not respectful of their clients time.) read more

Although she is a nice Doctor my glasses was so blury and so small they blamed me for it lol I was like are you kidding me also they have hidden charges if your on IEHP they will charge you $25 for an exam that IEHP pays for and for a Glocoma test that air blown in your eyes they charge after I left they charged me over $300 and insisted I had dry eye ive never had dry eye in my life lol but made me pay $25 per box said it was day ware and night ware what a crock of sh$t the receptionist are a joke there probably pocketing that extra cash this place is literally an Investigators dream of fraudulent activity excessive charges and I spoke to the vision place next door and the lady said they reported them because they aren't suppose to be charging us for anything over there. Run from this place, don't fast. read more

This is crazy I went in there for one pair of glasses, and one set of colored contact lenses not prescribed. How crazy is it that this lady proceeded to give me one pair of lenses that last for only 30 days and she made me pay $140 for lenses and eyedrops. Freaking insane. I would never go here. Not fiscally responsible considering their Walmart. I will never see this lady again I cannot believe she charged me $25 for eyedrops eyedrops how crazy is that? I've been to her before. I've got glasses through my insurance, but I will never go here again. I am just a palled that she took that much money from me for one single pair of contacts freaking insane. read more

This temecula office is one of the best optometry offices I've ever been to the front desk office staff are such beautifully kind and curious I always feel I'm family going in. They are prompt to give you attention answer your questions and the service the girls provide is outstanding I'm moving but I'd travel far just to see them and help me. This is probably a nice place. Never really found out because upon walking in, the staff at the front desk was very rude and was trying to act mean. Even though there was a bit of rudeness from the person at the front desk, we started filling out the paperwork that we were given anyway. She kept being rude so I told my wife to get up, give the pen and clipboard back, get the kids and leave. That would have been 4 eye exams to add to their business. There are a lot of other places to get this service from. Probably with better customer service. We walked out, took the paperwork with us and ripped them up while walking through the door. The way I see it, I'm paying them to do services for me and my family, not for them to be rude to me or my wife. The doctor was probably nice, just never got a chance to see her. Thanks anyway. I have always recieved outstanding care from Dr. Haleh Guilak. She is knowledgeable and up to date on the newest information and treatments. I've seen Dr Guilak for routine eye exams as well as other issues with my eyes. She is always smiling and very patient. She makes sure i am happy with my contacts and glasses and that all of my questions or concerns are ddressed. I recommend Dr Guilak to my family and friends. Waited for a month for a refund I was told I would be receiving. Kept calling and all Norma cared about was a review I posted about my negative experience I had there and kept asking me If I took down my post, never mind what the issue was. I wanted to update this because in visiting another doctor I realized how much I got screwed over by this business. I went here in August to get my prescription. They kept my prescription the "same" for my glasses and contacts. Which is what they told me. Turns out, they had added astigmatism to my left lenses of my glasses. I had no idea. I went to a new doctor, just about 4 and a half months later. No astigmatism. Not only that, he had prescribed me at much higher than what she had. They did nothing to fix the astigmatism, nor have I even gotten to speak to the doctor since. I paid for the prescription, then getting new glasses. These aren't cheap. I paid a lot of money for all this and I can't use the glasses, and the prescription is now obsolete. Such. A. Waste. read more

I have been going to Dr. Guilak for 5-6 years. She is very thorough explains things well. I feel like I have had a very good eye exam quickly. It's really nice that you can do walkins and get in usually within a half an hour. I have never had a problem with my prescriptions in my contacts that she fitted me are wonderful. The male Optometrist had a bad attitude. You can see it his expression from the start. I felt rushed. He had bad bed side manner. Would never go back to him. Dr. Guilak is way better. She's more accommodating and has a better attitude. Unfortunately I got stuck with this guy because of conflict of my schedule. Totally felt brush off. read more

First time in seemed ok, when my son got his prescription. We were very specific that our family was on a budget and that the glasses and contacts were going to be expensive, yet the perscribed the most expensive and did not give alternatives. We could not afford to buy the whole year. Once the year was up, they would not even allow us to buy one week of contacts until we could afford another appointment when we got paid. They were rude, when I called they put me on hold and never came back, waited for over 15 minutes on hold. They are just about finding you the most expensive prescription and making sure not to help when needed. read more

From one star to two...because my last visit was literally only slightly better! Joie was at the front desk and she was obviously rushed..there were a lot of people trying to be seen and I could definitely sense her slight frustration. My wait wasn't long which was nice, and Joie wasn't nearly as bad as the last girl I had to encounter, so kudos for that... Once I saw Dr. Guilak, I immediately did NOT feel at home (or part of any "family"). She wasn't warm or funny (in fact, I think I was trying harder to make things comfortable). Four years ago, she prescribed contacts at a -3.5. This time, a -3.25 and -3.0 for glasses (to save me a headache...What is up with her and her famous headache lines?!). None of this is a problem because my eyes are fine and I know she knows her trade (although it's all a bit confusing and she didn't seem to want to explain very much). But! The customer service is seriously lacking. For example, when I first walked in, Joie didn't even look up to acknowledge me! I was the one who had to say hello. No handshake from the Dr., no explanation from the front desk lady as to how my insurance worked or what was covered or how much. I had to ask for my receipt and then she sorta just looked at me weird. I understand being busy, but I don't agree with not being friendly. Great job on keeping your business flourishing, Dr. Guilak, but try to understand that some of us won't return simply because your office seems a little too sterile. P.S. Stop trying to offer every single patient Lasik. I'm 27 and work part time. But sure, here's five grand since you offered to get me a free consultation. read more

Came here as a walk in and was seen within 5 minutes. The receptionist and doctor were both very friendly. The office and exam rooms were nice and clean. The waiting room had a t.v. and was warm and welcoming. I had my baby with me and was hoping it wouldn't be a long, treacherous exam. Without feeling rushed, the doctor was very thorough and got me in and out with my new prescription, a trial pair of contacts, new solution and coupons for eye drops in no time. I got my annual eye exam here for the first time. The girl that does your pre exam is very nice. Normally at the eye doctor they wipe down the machines before you rest your face on them she did not do that. The optometrist is nice but she's dsnt spend a lot of time with you. I got a eye exam for contacts and the Optometrist did not give me a pair of contacts for trial and she was already making me pay. I had to have the girl in the front tell her. Then the optometrist lady changed my prescription with out initialing the change so when I tried to purchase contacts online I was not able to because they thought I altered the prescription. so annoying next time I will go to Costco read more

If its time to get an eye exam, this is the best place in town. Don't let the location fool you (inside Wal Mart), there is nothing cheesy about this business. Walk=in are welcome, or you can make an appointment.. The Dr. is very thorough. She does the exam, and discusses what your needs are, and then gives you the various options. She even will give you sample contact lenses to try out to see if they are right for you. She is professional, yet friendly. My daughters and I will differently go back and have our future check-ups there. read more

I happened across this place while shopping at Walmart. The main doctor there is named, "Haleh Guilak." I walked in and made an appointment to be seen 5 minutes later for new contacts. Haleh is a people-person. I didn't feel rushed and when it came time to try on some contacts, she put them on me herself. She's extremely gentle and I felt no discomfort or pain. read more

Like many of the other posters have said, the receptionist is a disaster. Rude, cold and unpleasant. Now on to the story- I paid for a contact exam and the Dr. sent me with contacts that were worse than the ones I came in with. I couldn't see. They told me some other lenses would be coming in to try those out to and they could take up to two weeks or so. After a few weeks went by and my vision suffering I decided to go to another Dr. He got me a prescription that worked great and had my lenses within three or four days. A MONTH after going to to the Wal Mart Dr. I went back to inquire about my trial lenses. The nasty receptionist said, "oh here they are, they came in a few days ago". The only redeeming quality of this operation is Norma who manages the business. But she did not manage to give me even one dime back and I wasted more than a month of my life and $139 dealing with this poor business. Stay away! read more

Dr. Guilak has helped me to easily transition from glasses to contacts, which work much better when playing sports. Plus, now with contacts I can wear some really cool sunglasses, which I could never do before. She helped me learn how to easily take my contacts in and out and find the right brand and fit that are super comfy for my eyes. Before meeting Dr. Guilak, I was always hesitant about switching to contacts. Because of her guidance, patience and excellent care, now I very happy wearing them. I was fortunate to find her! Dr Guilak is a fine optometrist, but she is never in the Temecula Walmart office. The male doctor who now substitutes for Dr Guilak is impatient and unprofessional. That is the way I would describe the entire staff. I have never taken the time to write a review of a doctor before, but I did so because the experience in that office was so unsatisfactory. I spent most of my energy trying not to annoy the doctor as he tried to quickly diagnose my vision deficiency, and I left unsure of the prescription. Good price, but not good service. read more

She is by far one of the best Optometrists I have ever seen in my life. She is very kind, courteous, attentive to what you need and actually listens to what you want. Refreshing compared to some doctors who just want to cram down your throat what they want to give you based on financial motivations. She is great with kids and has a gentle approach to seniors. How do I know this? After I had such a great experience with her my 86 year old Mom went to see her as well. I brought her down from Irvine just to see her after my Mom had bad experiences and poorly written prescriptions in Orange County. To this day, now 18 months later my Mom will not ever go to anybody else and will come all the way down from Orange County just to have an appointment with her. I would give this Doctor a five star rating any day based on my person experiences and especially my elderly Mom who is very picky. read more

As my optometrist, she is very thorough and efficient in her exams. She takes whatever time is necessary with me and answers any questions I may have without me ever feeling rushed.
