Just tried this place and it was great! From my understanding they change out their beers on tap every few days, so I'm excited to keep coming back and trying new beers. I loved the Kona Vanilla Thrilla and the Milk Stout. My boyfriend got the cider and a pumpkin beer (bottled) and loved those too. I just wish they had appetizers to eat while we drink. Doesn't matter though, we'll be back and live close enough that next time we'll just order food delivery before we walk home :) read more

This was a cool craft beer place. Hidden a bit but worth the stop if you are looking for true craft beer and getting away from the tourist fee. It's notable that is a small place so large groups would be jars. I'd say 4/5 ppl would be comfortable more may be challenging. If you're looking for a great little place to sample or just straight up imbibe some great local and other craft beers - this is the place. Great selection of beers on tap, especially given the size of the place - small and intimate. Friendly staff and great prices just make this place even better! Another benefit is that is not a typical Orlando touristy place - which I hate. No mouse ears. No being poked with Harry Potter wands. I stumbled acrosss Half Barrell Beer Project based on an Elite friend's recommendation. She knew that I really liked little beer and wine shops that are locally owned. Half Barrell is located less than 5 minutes from all of the action on I-Drive and is worth a stop in if you are craving some tasty local Florida beers. Both on tap and in the can/bottle, there were about a dozen draft beers ranging from sours to lagers to IPAs and dozens of cans and bottles. They have something for every beer aficionado. I was informed by the bartender that the beers are always changing as well. They have 3 TVs and there is seating for about 40 people and it is not a large establishment. If you are near I Drive or Top Golf I would definitely recommend coming in here to have some beers. One thing to note is that they do not serve food. Just some chips and bar snacks. They do allow reserving the bar for private functions and give you the option to have outside food catered in. read more

Cute little place with 12 taps, their own plus guest. Their beer was good but there was a group of people (including the owner) watching football and SCREAMING. And the place is just too small for that. We left after one round. Not what I'm looking for in a craft beer bar. read more

A hard fine but worth it. In the Walgreens & housing complex. A must visit, too! Good options with sours, IPAs, barreled age, etc. No food though. Plenty of free parking. Flight options are the best choice when you're not sure. read more

Our first stop in Orlando was half barrel. The staff literally had to unlock the door because we were counting down the seconds. Bartender/owner was extremely nice and helpful. Love this bottle shop! Tucked away by the Orange County Convention Center, this bottle shop has it all! Delicious draft beer, awesome bottled beer selection, and a very relaxed atmosphere. After hanging at Sea World all day on a random, just out for fun jaunt, we wanted to go get a drink and hang at a cool bar in the area. This place popped up on yelp so we jogged over. Or drove, more accurately. It is legitimately a hole in the wall. As advertised. Probably five or six tables inside, the usual amount at the bar, and maybe four chairs outside although outside in this case is literally the entrance inside. And that is where the smokers hang out, so if you want to sit outside be ready for that. The weather was nice so that is exactly what we did. The smoking isn't so great but what can you do, really. They were aware of us and tried not to blow it in our faces so kudos on that. They had a ton of selections, however. At least 10 things on draft, none of which I had heard of or tried. I basically drink cider when it comes to alcohol like this, didn't even try for a mixed drink here. They had one cider on tap, apparently two a week or so previous. And they had a wide selection of ciders in bottles and cans. Out with a friend and she tried two different beers, both of which she enjoyed. I tried each and, because I don't like beer, they weren't my thing. But the cider on tap was great and they had a pineapple cider that I had never had and a strawberry cider that were both really good. Strawberry cider I have had a few times from different makers, this one was up there on the scale. Staff was really friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to try and just general conversation. They had a few TVs going with different sports games and it seemed like the place, about half full, was mostly regulars in the area. The music was really chill and it it had a good vibe. I'd say if you're in the area and just want to relax and have a good drink, this is totally the place to do it. read more

On vacation for the weekend in Orlando, we wanted to try out a brewery in town. When we had looked up sour beer, my boyfriends preference, the results had showed up "half barrel beer project". We called to see what they had on tap and he was hooked. A small industrial brewery, warm ambiance with a nice layout. The music playing had my head bobbing all night, which is always a plus. Wes, the bartender of the night was very attentive and engaging. He had recognized that it was our first time, and recommended great beer as well! It was a great experience. read more

Legit beer bar- great can/bottle selection, board games, small room and cozy atmosphere. Not too many of their own brews in draft, but the Roasted brown ale was good, toasty and coffee-esque. Definitely taking some bottles home with me, great little chill spot for good craft beer. read more

I came in on the Fourth of July as I was in town for a Convention. Originating from RI, I'm always looking for a nice local craft joint - I decided to convince my father (who was my traveling companion) to walk the few miles to swing by. When I say this place is killer, it still doesn't do it justice! From the time the sign came into view, every walked mile was immediately made worth it! A gentleman (that we later learned was the owner) greeted us while carousing outside with another patron IMMEDIATELY making us feel welcome. The interior was SUPER comfortable, and the gentleman behind the bar explained the "rules" (if you can call them that - tap list on wall, priced by size, flights available and priced accordingly, beer in fridges and wall available for purchase to take home or for on-site consumption - the on-site consumotion is a big deal back home). We ended up trying all of the 12 rotating taps - ALL of which were phenominal, all the while chatting with the owner, the bartender, and even the regulars - and decided to take home 2 bottles. I knew I had to take a Sour home to share with my best friends (who LOVE Sours), but didn't know what else to grab. The owner took the time to talk through my likes and dislikes and came back with a bottle of a Barrel-Aged Imperial Black IPA, and - while I'm waiting to crack it until I get home - it seems just PERFECT!! I wish businesses could ship/trade beers, because I would absolutely LOVE to send some local stuff down! If you ever find yourself in the area this place is absolutely worth the trip, and my father agrees. read more

The beers here were very good and the service was excellent. I'm from the Seattle area and used to strong flavorful IPA's and this place did not let me down - had a good ipa and also an excellent triple ipa. Also had a butterfinger stout they brewed which I though was very good as well. read more

I stopped in this newly opened craft brewery for a quick draft before heading back to my room at Vista Cay Resort (walking distance). As it turned out, they owners were not brewing yet as they were still getting the brewery section fine tuned, but they did have an amazing selection of craft brews on tap and in the cooler. The owners, brothers Scott and Chad, were awesome. Very friendly and passionate about what they are building. I even got a personal tour of the brewing operation! If you are in the area, definitely make this a stop. I can't wait to go back and taste what these guys cook up next time I'm out. read more
