We arrived around 8:15 p.m. and didn't leave until approximately 10:40 p.m. Despite being there for nearly two and a half hours, our order consisted of two appetizers, an order of Brussel sprouts, two desserts, a bottle of spring water, and two virgin mojitos. For a simple meal for two people, the service was unreasonably slow throughout the evening. Our server, Svet, was polite and personable, but friendliness alone could not make up for the delays. The hummus appetizer was excellent and was easily the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful and served with pita, cucumbers, carrots, and red peppers. The food presentation overall was attractive and showed promise. The most serious issue occurred when my son ordered a refill of his virgin mojito and was served a drink containing alcohol. He immediately noticed something was wrong after taking a sip and handed it to me. I tasted it as well and confirmed that it contained alcohol. Serving alcohol in a child's drink is a significant mistake and should never happen. We also ordered the steak frites based on a recommendation and were told it was exceptional. Unfortunately, the steak was extremely tough and chewy, making it difficult to eat and far from what was described. Management apologized and removed the steak from the bill, but the combination of excessive wait times, the alcohol mix-up involving a minor, and the disappointing entrée left a poor overall impression. read more

The best thing about this meal was the sweet potato brand. It is undeniably delicious although ours was not hot on the inside. The rest of the dinner really paled in comparison. The pepperoni flatbread was like a frozen pizza from Costco and the $27 brisket burger was so thin that I thought the kitchen made it wrong. It tasted okay but the value wasn't there. Plus, they claimed it comes with marinated heirloom tomatoes and that didn't happen. The service was good. When I asked about the super thin patty, the server offered to bring a new one or take it off the bill. We weren't trying to get our meal comped so we rejected the idea. Svet was our server was he not only smart in working with my food allergies but he was also very kind in letting me know what I could do on the menu. I never miss an opportunity to eat here when I can! I love the fresh locally grown food! I was very happy to see they extended their hours to include lunch. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is laid back with a couple of televisions to follow the games. Sharon is our favorite bartender/server. She makes the best cocktails and is always very attentive regardless of how busy. The only downside is that because the ingredients are all locally sourced, the menu often changes based on what's fresh and available so if you love a menu item, it may not be there the next time. Ambience walking in, was really good! However, when we sat down, our server seem very unenthused. She did not seem excited to greet us, offer suggestions, or wait on our table. The menu seemed a little limited with only a few options. We did have the sweet potato bread, which is really good with the honey butter. For dinner I had the Fried chicken sandwich and my friend got the fish tacos. Both were yummy. The espresso martini was subpar. We did not get dessert, but the options did look appetizing. The restaurant itself is really nice and there is a nice outdoor patio area. But I landed on their sister restaurant Whisper Creek Farm: The Kitchen, which is housed at the JW Marriott. WCFTK provides a farm-to-table experience with local and sustainable products. The onsite Whisper Creek Farm is home to chickens and a 7,000 square foot fruit and vegetable garden. WCFTK has a modern style with dard woods and televisions throughout. There is also ample patio seating. Customer service was solid. The food and beverage arrived within an appropriate time frame. What I Ordered: Peach Cobbler Moonshine Crispy Brussel Sprouts Lettuce Wraps The Peach Cobbler Moonshine was one of the best moonshines I have had. It tasted like a peach dessert and the slice of peach at the bottom of the beverage was a treat. The Brussel Sprouts were memorable. I loved the buffalo lime vinaigrette and mojo emulsion. The candied pecans added a great crunch. If I could change one thing, it would be for slightly crispier sprouts. I really wanted to like Lettuce Wraps, especially given their presentation on a board and the playfulness of the meal. I liked the pickles, peppers, and the crispness of the cucumber. However, the pickled squash lacked acid and the coffee-rubbed short rib salt. While I appreciated the herbaceous quality of the chermoula, the turmeric overpowered the green mango. The farm grows many different vegetables and fruit that are featured in restaurant dishes and beverages throughout Grande Lakes Orlando. You could really tell how fresh the ingredients were! We were able to try various items that were all flavorful and delicious, but our favorites had to be the Smashed Beef Sliders, Brussel Tassel, and Tamarind Glazed Skirt Steak. The host greeted us warmly, and our server was also very knowledgeable and friendly. I hate that I can't remember her name. It was starting to even get uncomfortable as servers were passing us. However Shandreas was worth the wait! She was friendly, quick and helpful. We ordered the Mac and cheese which totally scratched the itch. The kettle chips, the beet salad, the grilled cheese (without ham) and the short rib. Every bite was better than the last!! Wow! I wish I had come on the first day that I arrived here at the JW Marriott in Grande Lakes. The food was exceptional and so was the service! My waitress Jennifer was attentive and intuitive. In fact the staff here are truly professionals. Since I was feeling under the weather and it was my last night for the conference, I wanted to treat myself to some comforting food. Although I do prefer Asian foods for comfort, I found the ambiance was calm and relaxing and I was ready to try something new. I wasn't famished and just feeling a tad hungry so ordering a big meal wasn't my intention. There were two dishes that sparked my interest and one was a steak dish with chimichurri and the other was a smoked short rib wrap (the closest thing to Korean BBQ without kochujung). Both were set at reasonable prices so I didn't feel like it was going to waste if I didn't get to finish it. While waiting I enjoyed a nice cup of chamomile tea and honey knowing I had a super early plane to catch the next morning. When my dish came out and it was a piece of art indeed served on a wooden cutting board. I loved the vibrancy and the colors of my meal. Although I'm not a huge fan of pickles, I did enjoy the pickled squash reminding me of Korean banchan (side dishes). It was a perfect compliment to my lean and smoked short rib wrap. The lettuce was superb and really fresh. You can truly see the quality of ingredients used. I know I said I was super hungry but I managed to eat 90% of it because it was truly delicious! The ambiance is on the louder side, but lighting dimmer than most creates the feel of a romantic late-night hot spot. Details down to the silverware, modern and thick dinnerware with deep sides, and gray herringbone super-soft cloth napkins are all gorgeous and tasteful. Brussels were excellent, if sauced a little heavier than usual. The pork belly was tougher than expected, and the biscuit it came with offered very little to the dish, but the braise topping was excellent. The birria taco, easily mistaken for a quesadilla, was simply outstanding. The DIY short rib lettuce wrap was both fun and delicious. We opted for grilled chicken on the harvest salad, and extremely glad the we did so because the chicken breast was divine-- perfectly juicy, bold and beautiful aromatic flavor, and excellent gentle sear which complimented the fruity salad. I am staying at the JW Marriott, grand Lakes in Orlando. I ordered the smoked beef brisket with coleslaw and candied pecans and hush puppies. It was $28 on the menu. And this is what I got. I got some sauces with it that I'm not sure what I was supposed to do with it although the mustard sauce I put on the coleslaw. The barbecue sauce was OK, but ridiculously overpriced. I know everything is overpriced here, but I would have thought I would've gotten something better for $28. The brisket was OK, again the barbecue sauce was good. The hush puppies did not taste good and were dry. Can't say much about some dry coleslaw that I put some type of sauce on. read more
